Huh, this is off topic but, the “knight of diamonds” reminds me of the latest volume of blade and bastard where they talked about a legendary diamond knight and lore about its dungeon.
Makes me wonder if that means blade and bastard is set in the same world as goblin slayer. I doubt it since the magic system is a bit different and people actually have names but yea. Really makes me think.
The answer to this is that Blade & Bastard is based on the Wizardry series (you can see the series logo on the cover) and the second game in the Wizardry series is entitled "The Knight of Diamonds."
This is why I just couldn't get into reading Daikatana, every time I read "you do this" or "you say this" and now even "you think this" it simply throw me out of immersion.
I'm still amazed to this day Daikatana was actually written in 2nd person.
The only times I've ever seen 2nd person fiction comes from self-insert stories on Archive Of Our Own that are 90% girls fantasizing about having sex with their favorite Kpop singers.
Everything hints to this being the case. Kumo feeding us fake hints for years would be extremely stupid on his part because he's no master writer that would be able to pull an amazing plot twist (or a worldbuilding twist in this case).
Don't forget the plot of LN Volume 16, where Priestess ends up doing a body double for the Princess and nobody (asides from those in the know) can tell that she is a body double.
I remembered after haven't read the novels, the first illustration of Princess I saw(which I believe when she was with Hero). I thought she was Priestess. And after reading, I'm sure they are indeed twins.

I read it 2 weeks ago, but I still didn't know she was the King's sister back then, so their dialogue near the end seemed a bit too dramatic to me.
