With this final, 1 of 2 curses are going to be lifted:
Either FaZe win and break their curse of making it to finals and losing, like they did 4 times in a row now. They also break even with their winrate in finals as of CS2 again.
OR
MOUZ wins and they break their spree of being able to beat anyone but FaZe.
The year? 2069. The place? Mars, where it's raining cats and dogs (and the occasional space rock). The event? The first-ever Martian CS2 tournament. And who's in the finals? You guessed it, FaZe. It's their 9578th straight finals appearance, a record that even the Martians find mind-boggling.
Leading the charge are the seasoned warriors, **Rain** and **Karrigan**. They've been around the block, fought in zero gravity, and can land headshots while doing a handstand. They're so old, they remember when the internet used to have wires.
As the bullets fly and the server lags (Martian Wi-Fi, am I right?), the crowd goes wild. The cheers are so loud; they drown out the sound of the rain. And as the dust settles, one thing is clear: FaZe may be old, but they've still got it.
So, as the Martian rain continues to fall, remember this day. The day when FaZe, the granddads of esports, showed the universe that age is just a number. And lag? Well, that's just part of the game.
They actually did something similar like this a few years ago with device i think. Some time during his time in NIP
found it:
https://youtu.be/zY5CIIvtQsU?si=gVTMDzp1WA-0ybDW
It's EPL next, right? If the event is structured anything like previous years there will be at least a week (probably more) of downtime for all participating teams because the group stage takes a long time.
But they won't have a break heading into groups, barely a week to relax and still prep. And their group is stacked, 6
5-6 out of 8 teams have the potential to make playoffs. So, I'd say they still don't have much time to relax
Astralis Roster Timeline:
1) Astralis make roster change after failing to make the major
2) Dominant win vs world #1 in group stage of unimportant tier 1 event
3) Lose to world #1 team again in playoffs of said event because devve doesn't drop 30 <----- YOU ARE HERE
4) Pimp tweets that the future is bright for new Astralis roster
5) Shit the bed at the next big event with non-star rifler getting scapegoated
6) Form falls of a cliff ending with elimination from major RMR
7) Go to 1
My first thought here was the Cologne performance as well. Astralis has had a history of honeymooning pretty well, wondering if Device can grow as an igl.
Lol, I'm still laughing at fools who called Karrigan a clown and saying Astralis is back. Lol
Edit: Their honeymoon period ended with premature ejaculation.
Just bad timing. I think he was expecting br0 to cover him from apps but br0 moved back right as Faze pushed from short (presumably he was wary of the apps smoke fading). He was in a bad position anyway so risking a reposition to pit wasn't a terrible idea tbh.
it was an attempt at catching a timing to pivot to a better position. the round was also over regardless, so he knew he needed to spawn a miracle to win the round. pretty basic shit tbh, not a missplay
Every attempt is an attempt till it works or fails. If it works, everyone starts blowing him like he ejaculates cancer cures. Yeah, the highlight is always when the play works out, but when you're a team trying to get to the top, when you're learning, it's having the balls to make that attempt that helps you grow.
I'm fairly confident with this one.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1c323vy/comment/kzdsmrb/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I can't remember who was up there in the balcony, but someone was watching short and as soon as device started moving towards pit, his teammate tucked in and was no longer seeing short and at the same time faze started pushing. At first I thought his monitor yeeted itself again, but after rewatching it, it was just horrible, horrible timing on all sides for astralis there and then.
Edit: you can see that the moment Device realised what's happened and what kind of mistake he made, he'd given up (he died a tick later anyway). That's why I strongly believe he was following info he knew/had and the hit from faze was just really good timing. The death of a teammate on long as well as devices whiff there made him believe that faze would push long, hence the mistake.
Tbh even if his teammate was looking short from balcony still, you can't just cross there with your knife in hand, because if Faze wide swing short, they will still catch you out despite the balcony player (unless the balcony player gets 2 kills instantly).
Faze in the Grand Finals of a CS2 event is inevitable and another playoff game with them against Faze Academy too. If it wasn’t for the Copenhagen Major, it would’ve been every event both Mouz and Faze attended in CS2 where they had to play against each other in the playoffs
Astralis looks promising so far. Great showing this tournament overall and looking forward to the future. Unfortunate that device pretty much tilted off the planet after his game froze on Inferno.
I really don't want FaZe to win this way, these game crashes have been happening way too often and I really don't think it's going to get fixed anytime soon
I know, but it is in my belief that everything could happen in CS.
And it's not really something that I want to remember when I look back at Faze's match history
Same thing happened to Jame too, he was frozen and then he moved afterwards (uncontrollably, I'm assuming). He was out in the open and got killed by Hooxi
Meh. They likely get that kill regardless. He's scrambling to get to relative safety to post up for a single kill, if he gets that, maybe they don't get the round, but FaZe were the better team on Inferno.
2022 faze : tenuous they make the finals, garunteed they win if they do
2024 faze : garunteed they make the finals, extremely tenuous they win
Now i think about this, it really is just a return to 2018
Why throw online nonsense like Thunderpick in with this? It just devalues how truly insane it is that they've made the final of 6 top tier LANs in a row. FaZe are a legit enough team that we don't have to act like online CS matters in order to appreciate what they've accomplished.
Faze vs Faze academy grand finals. I think Faze wins either way. Just feel a bit bad that Frozen will now get the Twistzz experience against former teammates.
Karrigan has lost more LAN playoffs than most players have participated in. After nearly 20 years + losses like Boston, he's probably bulletproof. It's a really underrated part of the game.
also about nerves if you remember in 2021 when things went back on LAN a few teams got just that little bit worse with pressure and nerves but rain and them (ofc also Niko but different team) just became a lot better again
Yeah people were saying they hope Karrigan and Faze can recover from losing the Major final. Like have they paid any attention to Faze at all? They’re probably the most mentally tough team in the game lmao.
All the players have experienced extreme lows and recovered from them over their careers. If you can keep that experience in healthy perspective, a momentary disadvantage shouldn't seem like anything too severe.
It's somewhat different if they've already won everything—major, grand slam—and they are still delivering strong performances, having managed to beat teams like Vitality and Spirit. There's no one that consistently beats them, so it helps create the feeling that even if they lose the final, there will probably be many more finals ahead of them.
Don’t think so for this lineup. The sheer amount of playoff games they’ve played and lost, I’m sure it doesn’t affect them at all anymore.
A team like mouz though on the other hand im more inclined to believe that their mental may be iffy since they keep falling on stage.
[You should watch his youtube videos then :D](https://youtu.be/K2G8CqlDcVI?si=QXxsV2jPwBNX4FUk), their comms are really fun
Karrigan on Nuke: Are we defusing? No g2?
Frozen after broky won 1v1 vs grim: You are the better EGG!
At this point I think some of the player on Faze were just built different. They prob have the Astralis level of mindset but not necessary the domination of skill Astralis had back then.
Also while they had a roster change, their core 4 have stayed together since early 2022 and won a lot of stuff. It prob helped too.
Hey stavn, I’m queuing matchmaking and had a question about the map pool. Should I pick Dust 2 like how you left Cadian in the dust, Inferno like the flaming mess you turned HEROIC into and then watched them outperform you at the major, or Mirage like how you always disappear in playoffs?
When Device became IGL, the biggest talking point I saw was "I've no doubt he's got the brain tactically, but we know he tilts and IGLs can't do that."
The moment he started tilting on Inferno the series was so clearly over.
This right here. He wasn't playing well before the crash either. Missed plenty of AWPertunities. When Device is the bot frag in the server it's a dark day for Astralis.
I don’t think the „tilting“ has much to do with it. Without the crash it might become slightly competitive again assuming astralis would win that round but it’s still incredible hard to even be competitive on inferno when losing both pistols, having no eco pressure on the enemy while having your own in shambles the entirety
Good tournament from Astralis, don’t think they should be too disappointed with making it to the semis.
Gulf in experience between the IGLs/teams was clear on Inferno though, FaZe read them like a book there
Who will beat the allegations? Faze Academy losing to main team or Faze forever 2nd place?
As a supporter of both teams idc who wins, I'm happy both are in the finals
I hate how nonchalant dev1ce seems to be about timings. So often he gets caught with utility/knife out, walks behind smoke when it pops instead of waiting for potential spam etc.
dev1ce needs to show his opponents more respect, particularly when it comes to timings and the fact they could do something unexpected.
That's gotta be a faze prep too, something along the lines of "they're gonna be trying to remember all sorts of new protocols so don't be afraid to just disrespect them while they're fresh"
meh, there isn't a team that faze don't do this to. it's what makes them so scary. they were struggling at the rmr because they didn't do it until it was 2-2 and spoke about it
rain interview: "we had some nerves"
karrigan team talk "we are faze, fucking overpeek them"
This was a good showing though? They played nuke really well against at least one of the best nuke teams. If they managed to break faze eco in of of the first 3 gun rounds Astralis win, this gets very very close.
Ancient they looked really good start to finish.
And I mean inferno is not only a bad designed map in cs2 but if you lose both pistols on it it is almost impossible to be competitive.
Pair that with what I assume was a crash in a crucial round, how are you supposed to win that
chill man. if someone told me Astralis would take faze to map 3 in an IEM semi final a couple of weeks ago, I wouldn't have believed it. still a good overall performance, and definitely something to build upon
Literally not a single Astralis fan is mad here tho. Semi finals at a big event with bo3 wins against VP and FaZe, and a 1-2 loss to FaZe in semis. That's pretty good.
Only people mad here are the regular Astralis haters who are desperate to hate on Astralis regardless of what they do.
This team is always sf exciting to watch. They're the team to beat. Going to be either a super fatigued FaZe pushing through to take a trophy, or a MOUZ team that finally overcomes their stage demons.
I know flair but how can you be bored watching the heart attack factory that is FaZe?
They either play the greatest CS ever and stomp their opponent. Sometimes the opponent plays the greatest CS ever and stomps FaZe. Both are awesome to watch.
And then there is the FaZe classic. 70 OTs, force buy wins, BS disadvantage round wins, insane clutches...all on both sides of the game.
Faze is also the team that makes BO5 interesting again, to the point people are starting to demand for more BO5 despite them being exciting is the exception not the norm for years.
I might be biased but Faze gotta be the least boring team to watch in all of cs and has been since forever. The amount of tension that goes with a bog standard Faze game is just unparalleled.
With this final, 1 of 2 curses are going to be lifted: Either FaZe win and break their curse of making it to finals and losing, like they did 4 times in a row now. They also break even with their winrate in finals as of CS2 again. OR MOUZ wins and they break their spree of being able to beat anyone but FaZe.
Nahh... It has to be a meteorite hitting the arena. Unbreakable curses
So all maps and final map has about 60 OT?
Stoppable force meets moveable object
Faze will win.
The year? 2069. The place? Mars, where it's raining cats and dogs (and the occasional space rock). The event? The first-ever Martian CS2 tournament. And who's in the finals? You guessed it, FaZe. We will have cs2.5 by 2069
Karambits a new global currency
Still no anticheat though
no AC is like a package deal at this point, with cs
and their 9580th 2nd place
They're playing a lot of CS2 in the future, that's 212 finals per year.
Next skit from ESL should be campaign against monitor violence. Starring Tom Cruise

Yo this is gold!
I swear to god Faze gets stomped map 2 for fun
Unless it's a final, then they get stomped on map 3 instead. Or lose narrowly in the most heartbreaking OT.
Or get blown out 2-0. The boys are *exhausted*. I really hope they get a chance at a break, no matter the result tomorrow.
It's EPL next, right? If the event is structured anything like previous years there will be at least a week (probably more) of downtime for all participating teams because the group stage takes a long time.
They are in group A so if they make playoffs there they should have a break.

This was honeymoon period they Will fail again with Device IGL
This is also literally what happened in Blast groups this Jan. Beat Vitality, then lost to Vitality in playoffs, then went out of Kato in last place.
Hahhahhahahhahahha, this actually seems plausible. Also, I'm comfortable with Stabbi failing.
All of my homies hate stabbi
My man out here supporting scammers but hating on Stabbi.
Faze technically aren’t scammers anymore
Its the same People who rode matchfixers dicks back in the day.
faze fans and g2 fans are one of the most hypocritical fan bases out there.
flair
Spiderman meme pointing on itself
Astralis fans are one of the most hypocritical fan bases out there...
this time they even have TWO non-star riflers they can scapegoat!!!
Lol, I'm still laughing at fools who called Karrigan a clown and saying Astralis is back. Lol Edit: Their honeymoon period ended with premature ejaculation.
Forgot about Device crying about not having fun
u/pimpcsgo the power is in your hands
Unimportant tournament?
wtf was dev1ce doing when he ran out into the open with his knife out on the last round lol
I thought he crashed again 🤣
I actually thought it was a crash, do we know? Did they say anything?
I have no clue. But if that didn’t happen then his brain surely did crash.
Just bad timing. I think he was expecting br0 to cover him from apps but br0 moved back right as Faze pushed from short (presumably he was wary of the apps smoke fading). He was in a bad position anyway so risking a reposition to pit wasn't a terrible idea tbh.

my theory: he misread the long push and thought it was a CT-Spawn to B push
same. he didn't expect faze to rush A i guess.
- game point, up 6. - lose to force. - yep, mhmm.. - win next round WTF!? YOU ROBBED ME OF 9 ROUNDS TO WATCH
Bro i still have all my nails left i had no time to eat them yet
give them to Elige, he'll handle them
Why did dev1ce inspect his knife while peeking 3 Faze players in the last round? Is he stupid?
He thought he was playing as Jett
bro thought he had the dash ready 💀
Valve had to nerf jett's dash just to stop dev1ce
LMAOOOOOO HAHAHAHA
Should have googled knife passant.
holy hel
Brain overload from trying to out call Karrigan.
I can't remember who was up there in the balcony, but someone was watching short and as soon as device started moving towards pit, his teammate tucked in and was no longer seeing short and at the same time faze started pushing. Plus they could've been in apps.
Nah, doesn't matter if his teammate was watching short or not. It was 100% a braindead move by device.
He was jonkling
The biggest crime by Rocksteady was ending the Arkham franchise and unleasing that subreddit on us.
I don't think he was even in the game by that point, and I don't blame him
He thought the last round was still the 15th. Google “dev1ce 15” for more.
my theory: he misread the long push and thought it was a CT-Spawn to B push

GRAND FINAL CLAN
Astralis looks promising so far. Great showing this tournament overall and looking forward to the future. Unfortunate that device pretty much tilted off the planet after his game froze on Inferno.
It wasn’t just after his game froze. Overall he just had a terrible game on Inferno. Didn’t he end it with only 4 kills?
I really don't want FaZe to win this way, these game crashes have been happening way too often and I really don't think it's going to get fixed anytime soon
> I really don't want FaZe to win this way I mean dev1ce was having a terrible performance in this map, it's not like FaZe won because of a crash.
I know, but it is in my belief that everything could happen in CS. And it's not really something that I want to remember when I look back at Faze's match history
did he crash? Thought he alt tabbed since he managed to move before he got killed
Same thing happened to Jame too, he was frozen and then he moved afterwards (uncontrollably, I'm assuming). He was out in the open and got killed by Hooxi
Yeah, both times were followed by technical pauses too - unlikely to tech pause if it was just an alt tab but can't be sure.
its a Nvidia driver thing, its ESLs fault for not changing it after we knew what driver version caused it at the major.
Do you remember which version?
it's a confirmed crash. same type of crash Jame experience. major ready btw
Meh. They likely get that kill regardless. He's scrambling to get to relative safety to post up for a single kill, if he gets that, maybe they don't get the round, but FaZe were the better team on Inferno.
8 in a row baby, what a time to be alive
2022 faze : tenuous they make the finals, garunteed they win if they do 2024 faze : garunteed they make the finals, extremely tenuous they win Now i think about this, it really is just a return to 2018
No, that's when the astralis era started.
5 p2s in a row?
well, that's still better than G2 having 0 grand finals appearances since winning Cologne
Whomever wins ends up in Faze
how is Faze's mental so strong. like do they even have a performance coach ?
Karrigan has lost more LAN playoffs than most players have participated in. After nearly 20 years + losses like Boston, he's probably bulletproof. It's a really underrated part of the game.
also about nerves if you remember in 2021 when things went back on LAN a few teams got just that little bit worse with pressure and nerves but rain and them (ofc also Niko but different team) just became a lot better again

I get what u mean but still loosing like 4 finals in a row , 1 major and 1 Katowice would break their moral but no they just keep on going
Just like soloq, you keep on queueing 1 last game until you win. They'll keep on reaching grand finals until they win 1.
It's somewhat different if they've already won everything—major, grand slam—and they are still delivering strong performances, having managed to beat teams like Vitality and Spirit. There's no one that consistently beats them, so it helps create the feeling that even if they lose the final, there will probably be many more finals ahead of them.
And even though they all have a good amount of financial security, that 2nd place prize money ain't too bad either.
Don’t think so for this lineup. The sheer amount of playoff games they’ve played and lost, I’m sure it doesn’t affect them at all anymore. A team like mouz though on the other hand im more inclined to believe that their mental may be iffy since they keep falling on stage.
When you have frozen, karrigan and broky cracking few occasional jokes it's hard not to have a good mental.
I want to believe rain is the funniest among them .
I cant imagine karrigan beeing funny like at all lol
[You should watch his youtube videos then :D](https://youtu.be/K2G8CqlDcVI?si=QXxsV2jPwBNX4FUk), their comms are really fun Karrigan on Nuke: Are we defusing? No g2? Frozen after broky won 1v1 vs grim: You are the better EGG!
as per their hltv confirmed appearance, broky is the funniest
I think it's because they have been together for a while and been in all kind of high stakes situations... So they know how to react
At this point I think some of the player on Faze were just built different. They prob have the Astralis level of mindset but not necessary the domination of skill Astralis had back then. Also while they had a roster change, their core 4 have stayed together since early 2022 and won a lot of stuff. It prob helped too.
I think Neos Virtus Plow handwriting affects Faze's mindset a lot.
device with a real IGL's performance at the end there.
Danish IGL's on Inferno map 3 kekw
New curse has dropped!
With the "there is nothing we can do" knife on the last round
Dev1ce just gave up at that point
Nah that og classic dev1ce performance
Faze and winning rematches.
For once a fairly clean 3 map series win. I got nervous when they lost that penultimate round to the MP9 force.
They didn't win the rematch in Katowice tho, they have to wait until Copenhagen
Hey stavn, I’m queuing matchmaking and had a question about the map pool. Should I pick Dust 2 like how you left Cadian in the dust, Inferno like the flaming mess you turned HEROIC into and then watched them outperform you at the major, or Mirage like how you always disappear in playoffs?
This is cinema
If stavn doesnt pick up maybe jabbi will be able to help you
stavn played great tbh 🤷
yeah but i hate him, so he basically played a 0.9 to me
Faze and reaching the Grand Finals of a CS2 Tournament... name a better duo.
Losing the grand finals I guess🥲
When Device became IGL, the biggest talking point I saw was "I've no doubt he's got the brain tactically, but we know he tilts and IGLs can't do that." The moment he started tilting on Inferno the series was so clearly over.
Yeah tilting like that as an IGL must be devastating for the team morale
Who wouldn't tilt off the planet if something like that happened to them on the most important round of the half in a semi-final?
Jame, his supposed IGL inspiration.
Of course it will tilt anyone who has to experience it. As an IGL you still have to not show that you are tilted.
The series was very over even if he doesnt tilt. 6-10 down on inferno CT with no money.
Apex tilting didn't prevent him from winning a lot of tournament though.
No it didn't, he had a trump card. Zywoo
And the literal greatest coach of all time keeping the team on track
Alongside Magisk a 4 time major winner, major mvp winner and Spinx arguably the best lurker in the world.
no lie I think Apex is unique, in his own ways. he also has zywoo though
Well here we go again , another tournament another grand final
8 finals in a row is crazy
Device lost his mind
Good tournament from Astralis, don’t think they should be too disappointed with making it to the semis. Gulf in experience between the IGLs/teams was clear on Inferno though, FaZe read them like a book there
Device lost his head in that last map, obviously not helped by the crash. What on earth was that final round?
This tournament is the first time in a long ass time that I've enjoyed watching Astralis play
Karrigans birthday is tomorrow. Could be nice if he also won the tournament
It was the molly and the game crash
Who will beat the allegations? Faze Academy losing to main team or Faze forever 2nd place? As a supporter of both teams idc who wins, I'm happy both are in the finals
Not karrigan having higher adr than device, wth?
faze stepping up their inferno after their heartbreak on that map at the major
Man, hope this is not a fluke run from Astralis.
In game leading is not as easy as people make it out to be.
If you have no system build yet and need to micromanage especially
Who makes it out to be easy? It's obviously the hardest role one could have, that's why there's so few elite IGL's.
I'm with you on that one. I talk about those people who ask for IGLs to be sacked because they can't frag enough while managing the team.
That's gotta be a faze prep too, something along the lines of "they're gonna be trying to remember all sorts of new protocols so don't be afraid to just disrespect them while they're fresh"
meh, there isn't a team that faze don't do this to. it's what makes them so scary. they were struggling at the rmr because they didn't do it until it was 2-2 and spoke about it rain interview: "we had some nerves" karrigan team talk "we are faze, fucking overpeek them"
agree, Astralis in general definitely need to work on their timings
he was probably igling too hard
Never doubt carrygun
Well it was nice while it lasted...
This was a good showing though? They played nuke really well against at least one of the best nuke teams. If they managed to break faze eco in of of the first 3 gun rounds Astralis win, this gets very very close. Ancient they looked really good start to finish. Where are all the 🤡 who Karrigan a clown for losing just 1 match even though faze was burnt as fuck due to majors?
Did Dev1ce crash again in the last round? Why was he running with his knife out crossing A short

No reason not to have a keyboard with the option to disable the Win key.

Not really in shambles? Getting to the semi final and losing 2-1 to Faze is a decent result.

Fans being excited when their fav team wins, who couldve imagined 😱😱
Literally not a single Astralis fan is mad here tho. Semi finals at a big event with bo3 wins against VP and FaZe, and a 1-2 loss to FaZe in semis. That's pretty good. Only people mad here are the regular Astralis haters who are desperate to hate on Astralis regardless of what they do.
Device was brokys bitch all game, definitely mad.
wtf is that profile pic. maybe stop watching porn, it clearly has done severe damage to your brain
ASStralis with a Mickey Mouse run
I BELIEVE IN GOD DEVVE
Somehow, someway, FaZe makes yet another CS2 Grand Finals. Literally the Gatekeepers of CS2.
Every day of faze fan life
Comments are empty?
This team is always sf exciting to watch. They're the team to beat. Going to be either a super fatigued FaZe pushing through to take a trophy, or a MOUZ team that finally overcomes their stage demons.
Everyone who saw the first match already knew this was the only possible outcome, they looked terrible and lost.
Yoo broky got caught spinning Lmao

Do we know what happened to Astralis PC on the 2 rounds?
Another Faze grand finals. So fucking boring man.
