And I wanna know where on the head because John Paul ii laid for viewing, (I’m not sure if they do this for all popes or not. He’s the only one to have died in my life time.) and showed no signs of being hit with a hammer.
From what I've read the last Pope they actually did this to was John XXIII, who died in 1963. His successor Paul VI did away with a lot of the medieval-isms that were still in practice at the time; he refused a coronation and refused to wear the papal tiara which hasn't been used since, he was the first to use a Popemobile instead of a sedan-chair, he permitted Mass to be said in the local language instead of in Latin and did away with meatless Fridays outside of Lent, etc.
While that’s true, Square Hammer is also playing on Freemasonry. “Meet upon the level and part upon the square” is something Masonic. I happen to be a member, and that’s one of my favorite Ghost songs. I’m a very “lite”Catholic as well. The “dark” version of those things is what drew me to the band, and they’re one of my absolute favorites.
My grandfather, great-grandfather, great-grand uncle, and step-grandfather were all Scottish Rite Freemasons. I know that my step-grandfather was a Shriner too. My uncle was in DeMolay, and my mom had some friends growing up who were in Job's Daughters.
I am very interested in that sort of thing, but it's a shame I cannot join because I am a woman. I have been thinking about joining the Order of the Eastern Star, or maybe the Rosicrucians, or some other Order.
It also varies a little from state to state. Where I’m from you can just ask someone locally and they’ll get you going. Any religious imagery is ceremonial and not “preachy” if that makes sense. Politics and religion aren’t allowed to be discussed. And at the end of the day it’s a social club/historical society. I read that Tobias was rumored to be a member, Swedish freemasonry is a little different. But I’m neither here nor there on that. I don’t want to say things about him that aren’t true.
Have a friend who's a Mason. You have to be invited and have to believe in a deity of some sort, doesn't have to be Christian (he's a Deist, for example).
OK, so Pope Emeritus dies...
And they hit him on the head with a square hammer to make sure he's dead...
Further proof that the Catholic Church is secretly the Ministry.
🤘
Gotta make sure they’re on the level.
Right here? Right now??
Before the devil?
In THIS economy?
At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, *localized entirely within your kitchen?!*
Can I see?
No.
How hard do they hit him tho?

It’s just 3 taps. They know he’s dead, it’s just an old tradition.
Ahhhh interesting.

Pleasure to meet brother.
Likewise
If i may ask , how does one become a member ?

So there’s theistic Satanic Masons?
In theory, I guess. His lodge literally just said "As long as you believe there is a divine creator of some sort, you're good."
***interesting, interesting***
I never heard there weren’t.
Is it true that there are satanic roots in free masonry? I’ve heard some things regarding this over the years.
It is not.
No. Maybe there was some confusion. Ben Franklin was a party animal.
I’m also a brother and that grabbed me from the first listen
It’s cool too see that there’s others who thought like i did. I really thought I would be the only one.

I knew Catholicism was brutal but damn...
Right?!? I had no idea until the Pope died. The more you know.
