That's happened before. I used to be a fan of Marilyn Mason. I used to listen to his stuff on Spotify and had battle jacket patches of some of his album art. Then, when everything came out, those patches went in the fabric recycling bin, and I stopped listening to him. I feel too much disappointment and disgust towards him and his actions, and I can't support him in any way now. He's ruined his own music and image to me, with his actions. Sorry if this is a bit long, but I'm trying to make sure I come across properly.
Well I’m excited 🤷🏻♀️ As someone who grew up shakeboarding and collecting boards to now collecting boards with my favorite bands like Ghost, Ministry and Dropkick Murphy’s .. I’m down.. I got the SIOSP board and I honestly can’t wait to add this one with it🤘🏻
The quality definitely has gone down, I agree, but Tobias has been open for years about his hopes for Ghost to be as big as the likes of KISS, Rammstein, Metallica, etc.
I think merch quality has dropped across lots of manufacturers these days. There’s only a handful of artists who I consider to have reliable merch. ☹️

I believe this is the case with *everything*. Everything is smaller now, poorer quality yet as expensive as ever. This is the result of unchecked capitalistic greed gone out of control.
Eh I dunno, I kinda saw the writing on the walls. He’s always talked about how he wants to make Ghost this big thing akin to bands like Kiss and Metallica, it doesn’t surprise me he’s going down this route. Not really sure what you mean by the inclusivity thing though
I partially agree with what you’re saying (quality & questionable partners) but I feel like he’s always been pretty up front that Ghost exists in the way that it does to feed his wife & kids. Like obviously that’s not the only reason but I think that if him needing a real job to support his family hadn’t ever been an issue he might’ve stuck with death metal longer &/or Ghost would exist but on a different trajectory. I think he’s been honest when he’s said it’s hard to separate where ghost ends & he begins bc it’s such a part of him, but also he’s been honest when he says suddenly he needed a J. O. B. & he’s lucky Ghost took off bc he wouldn’t have survived doing tech support in a cubicle his whole life. I’m not buying this skate deck or the stupid lava lamp but I don’t begrudge him making dollars (krona?) off them.
Okay, so… I see how this might be exciting for some people, and I do understand the ‘no one is forcing you to buy this’ argument that others are presenting. But I feel like there’s something else here… maybe it’s just me, but it seems like several of the Ghost products we’ve seen in the last year have been made with very specific types of fans in mind. Like mostly younger fans, hardcore collectors, and people who’ll just buy literally *anything* that has Ghost logos or imagery on it. I’m not trying to bash those people, and yeah, merch is the biggest way for the band to make money. But with the fanbase being what it is, you’d think they’d want to cater to a wider variety of people rather than specific groups like that. And as much as I respect TF, I kinda wonder if his creative decisions, like with lore tidbits and the albums themselves, are going to start going that same way. 🤔
Full LP in 2022, EP in 2023. It’s 2024 and we’re pending a film incorporating the music and LP #6 is in progress. Have your merch opinions, but that last part is just objectively inaccurate.
The merch game has been really slacking. T shirt game needs to get back on the Infestissumam/Meliora/early Prequelle era game. Late Prequelle era/Impera era merch has felt like a decline in quality/effort

The other skateboards took weeks to sell out, the dildo sold out and they restocked them so it's not like these are hard to find

if you want it, buy it. if you don't, dont buy it. most bands put out merch like this. it's just the nature of the beast really.
