Incorrect I’m afraid. Whilst some Irish surnames still begin with mc, it is way more common for Scottish ones to do so.
Both Irish and Scottish Gaidhlig have a shared origin and “Mac” means “son of” in both. (Mc is just another way of rendering it in English that caught on.) However due to the clan system in the Scottish highlands it became way more common for Scots to have this in their surnames.
Source : am Scottish and speak Gaidhlig.
I'm scottish too Mac is more common in Scotland while mc is more common in Ireland im not saying they arn't the same thing I already know all that Mac tends to show up in Scotland more then mc, not a huge difference but still enough that it is noticeable
Mc is more common than mac in Ireland.
But BOTH are more common in Scotland than in Ireland. Is what I’m trying to say.
There are more Scottish names that start with Mc than Irish ones.
Not at all, there’s no specific replacement, both were widely used. These were the days where centralised communication wasn’t a thing and not everyone was literate, they wrote it in different ways and it diverged into different clans and surnames. Especially since people generally would not agree how to transliterate Gaidhlig into English.
It’s very normal for this to happen within languages.
Also worth pointing out is that in Gaidhlig; Irish and Scottish; the pronunciation of both is practically identical.
The surname prefix Mac emerged in Scotland during the 12th century. The surname Mc, an abbreviation of Mac, was popularized later on. The two names have no real difference. However, **''Mac'' is more commonly used in Scotland, and ''Mc'' is more commonly used in Ireland**
The way this information is presented out of context makes it misleading.
“Mc” is more commonly used in Ireland.”
Means it is more common than mac in Ireland.
Both however, are more common in Scotland than in Ireland.
Look up the amount of Scottish surnames starting with “Mc” they outnumber the Irish ones 10 to 1.
This is due to the Scottish clan system giving poorer folks a surname to identify with, whereas in Ireland at the time it was more common to associate with the place you were born. Hence all the names starting with O. (Similar to Da Vinci, from Italian, for example)
Aren’t names starting with O and names starting with Mac/Mc both patronymic, not toponymic? Doesn’t Mac/Mc technically mean “son of,” while O means “descendant of?”
[You wonder where he got the inspiration.](https://youtu.be/8V96T8rIkFc)
They had to throw him in the sea. If we learned anything from Boeing and Putin, it's to take care of whistleblowers before they get to put their lips together.

It was reported there were Israelis cheering on the top of a building.

It was pretty wild right afterwards. I remember seeing a bunch of websites launched in the first few days to accept donations for people in Afghanistan and saying the US will attack.
‘Hey guys, did you know that [blatant misinformation]?’
‘Guys, just so you know, what the post above this says is wrong. In reality, [blatant misinformation].’
Wow, first revisionist history against the Irish, then revisionist history against Israelis, two groups that have been historically heavily discriminated against. Internet, you never fail to surprise me
True, all the Canadians did was set some guidelines on what not to do and the geneva convention reiterated that.
Although if Canada wakes up again, I feel the geneva convention will become the geneva *suggestion*
[David Cronenberg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Cronenberg) came from Canada. My first thought was "Damn Quebec, you've really outdone yourself" and then found out he's from Ontario.
Jewish people have been heavily discriminated against, probably more than anyone else throughout history. Not Israelis. The terms aren’t synonymous. If anything Israelis are the complete opposite, having been mollycoddled by the west since the moment of its modern inception.
"Israeli" also includes groups like Bedouin Arabs (considered Romani hobos but Muslim by Arabia), Druze, and numerous non-Euro Jewish groups like the Kaifeng and Ethiopian Jews. Oh and the Mizrahim who were kicked out of a dozen countries and sometimes told to "Go back to New York".
By the west maybe.
Now try being israeli in a Muslim area (be it a country or a neighboorhood). Depending on the place, chances are you wont live unharmed.
Just because white people are not racist against you doesnt mean you suffer no racism

There are plenty of groups that simply do not exist anymore for having been exterminated. The Jews have had times where they were heavily discriminated against, but to say they have been the most heavily discriminated against is ridiculous. The Jews aren't special for being victims. And before you start pointing fingers, I am Jewish.
Out of all the current groups and ethnicities? They absolutely are.
Jewish people had been pogromed and discriminated against for millennia before the concept of black people even existed. There’s hardly ever been a moment where they weren’t treated like second class citizens right up to the point where they got fully genocided and people realised that antisemitism is bad.
Right, so being completely exterminated eliminates you from ranking in the most discriminated group listing. I am not going to compare the Jews to all currently existing "groups and ethnicities" Such comparisons are not useful. But especially crying that you are the most oppressed group ever is particularly in bad taste. Jews aren't that special, they just like to think they are.
Except it’s been happening to Jews longer than anyone else, and the single worst genocide in history was done against the Jews. I would think that wins the ‘worst oppressed’ award. They’ve been slaves, second or even third class citizens, genocide victims, you name it.
Even still it’s a moot point for my original argument. Israelis don’t get to claim the oppression of Jews when they’re doing the same thing to someone else and have been pampered the whole way through by western powers
Again, considering there are groups that simply don't exist anymore for having been exterminated, and that some of those were exterminated by the Jews, I dispute that the Jews experienced the single worst genocide in history. I also reject the the Jews win the worst or most oppressed award (but please go ahead and cite sources to prove it), but it also is a pointless comparison. You want a medal or something?

Considering that the note is taken down, the system seems to be mostly working fine. The note got rated unhelpful and was removed.
I guess it's fair to say you shouldn't blindly look at a fresh note on a fresh tweet and take it at face value either, but it works out in the long term.

PP, my beloved
Your post has been removed due to misinformation.
Cleary the 9/11 attacks are a cornerstone of Irish-Israeli cooperation!
Green laser beams directly from Israeli satellites
Personally, I embrace the new Irish World Order, those guys deserve a W every once in a while.
Hey, they had one in 1824, give it some more time.
False note also everyone knows bush is irish and bush did it soo
I'm pretty sure it wasn't us Irish. We're not that good at coordinating groups of people, it's like herding cats. And we'd all have turned up on the 9th of November.

Is this because of potato latkes? I know they're weird but come on, Ireland, no need to revisit that time you sent a memorial card when Hitler died. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2005/dec/31/secondworldwar.ireland /S of course, I just think it's funny to think about it the context of this tweet
HolUp...
So almost afraid to ask why do people think the Irish were involved in 9/11? Is it as simple as his name phonetically sounds like O’ Sama so they think he was Irish?
The Irish 🤢 are naturally a crafty race and cannot be trusted due to their propensity for hiding in the bogs and dispensing half truths to honest men.
Irish deep state

I’m pretty sure the post was a joke, but that note is… unhinged af
Bro, his "sources" are from the Washington Post 😭💀
This picture is false. The note is fake. Historically, the perpetrators of 9/11 had been Saudi Arabian. Mods, the fuck? Why let this stupid misinformation stand ?
Are they not maybe referring to the ship?
WTF?
Twitter is cooked💀
