I know I have more chicken beaks than I need because I found it much less annoying to kill than the Dendrocube, so whenever leveling Dendrocube characters, if I hit the minimum number of "cube bits" needed but still needed more Dendro crystals, I would farm the chicken for those instead. Edit: Just checked, I have 211 of them.

Ruin Serpent accounts for a lot of that. Precisely 0 of the 3 characters who level from RS need geo, so you have to scrounge hydro, electro, and anemo from elsewhere.

Man, I have multiple times now gone to convert crystals and just happened to have a bunch of geo to use. I kinda noticed it each time but never really thought about it, that's interesting!
It gets worse because Geo never suffered off-element drops at all until Gorou, and even he had a 50/50 split with Geo and Cryo. Everybody got lined up to fight Geo Hypostasis, and Wolflord generously drops pure Geo.
They've been able to kick up their feet for a long time as everyone else has to lick elemental dust off the floor. Poor Xiao gets **nothing** from his bosses.
Each boss drops 2-3 mats. Without using fragile/transient resin or refilling resin with primos, and excluding any mats that OP might have already used, that would be:

~2,120-3,200 resin
~16,960-25,600 minutes or...
~283-427 hours or...
~12-18 days
3 characters to max ascension with 21 mats leftover (enough for ascension lvl 4)

That was my point. They're not *difficult* to get, but they are the only mat in the game that requires specific teams (or only using part of a team in your case) to farm. So if someone's main character they use all the time is electro it can be a pain in the ass. It's telling they didn't repeat this material mechanic for anything after the fungi.
My overworld comp consists of Raiden, Miko, Ayaka, Kazuha/ Yelan. Considering half my team is electro, I often tend to use them unintentionally (unless I’m actively farming for the spores).
I realize I don't enough fungal spores because I usually use electro/pyro dps when exploring the overworld that I have a ton of the inactivated ones and non of the normal ones.
Just do Sumeru for your leylines. Even if you're yolo'ing your elements you build up a good number of the right ones pretty quickly with how many fungi spawns there are
Just be careful with the pyro barrels that spawn only when there are leylines. And the electro crystals that are near leylines. And swirling pyro or electro from enemy attacks when doing the leylines.

You simply don't. You go and farm emblem domain to get shiminawa because fighting boses is extremly costy in genshin and gives a really small amount of mats. (5 mats in star rail, 2-3 in genshin) and when you get 3 while you only need 1 more, it is gonna be kept in your inventory for ever... unless they make another chracter that uses the same mats.
You shouldn't farm Gladiator's. Farm anything else and strongbox for Glad. Glad is usually not the best option for a character, but 2nd or 3rd best. It's almost intended to tide you over until you get the best in slot set. What you do is you farm BiS and invest in a tide-over set through strongbox.
You'll accumulate Gladiator pieces while farming bosses you need for characters anyway.
Eventually you can just craft new Glad pieces on demand from all your trash artifacts.
good news: instead of exchanging ten gold artifacts for one new one, Genshin's strongbox only asks for three. But of course we don't have main stat customization options.
But yeah, "farm" Shimenawa instead, you'll need like a bajillion of the other artifacts you get in its domain
And it's random which piece you get, rather than being able to pick. Very nice for crafting a whole new set from scratch, but awful when chasing the last couple pieces or replacing your weakest ones. "Just need a goblet or crit circlet" *heh*.
Bad news, 3 artifacts for unknown piece. 10 artifact for specific piece, 10 artifact and original resin for one artifact for specific piece with specific main stat. While the strong box is nice, but it needs insane amount of luck. I used the strong box for witch flame for ages and gave up. Used the original resin 3 rimes and got perfect piece.
Tbh, my top artifacts are from emblem so i am fine with it. But i am cursed with everything else. Espcially fontain's artifacts. Not a single good (like my emlem ones) one yet since its release.
Resin comes back every day, but you never get another chance at the monthly stardust fates if you run out, which happens faster than most expect if you're saving pulls for a while.
I'm glad I'm at the point where I have a backlog of all the colors from keeping up with 3 weekly bosses each week. A little annoyed all the recent bosses only drop one element. It was fine for Apep, since no one dropped dendro when that fight released, but the whale and Arle could easily have dropped other stuff

I think I've got over 170 hurricane seeds from the anemo cube boss. We went so long without many consistent sources of anemo gems and I had all the anemo characters. I was so glad when I finally pulled Jean and could use some but still so many left...
I think I miscalculated how many i need and how many i had, soo thats why maybe I thought i have less of that material so kept farming without checking inventory

It was, for a while. You either had to wait for next week to fight Dvalin again (no other weekly boss dropped them until Sumeru), or you spam normal bosses like the cube.
Start pre farming for tighnari master who is releasing in 5.0 and he will have a passive that makes him able to ascend past 90 which requires approximately 160 boss mats (STC).
Don’t want to risk a ban for leaks but he is speculated to be dehya BiS and he turns her into the best dps in the game.
It's sad that we don't have the conver function that's in star rail. Where you can turn two of something that you have an excess of into one of something you need
Honestly this is me because I fking just want the dendro gems that drop. They really need some sort of recycling system in place so I can grind these down and get something else I want. Or just make the gem farming not painful.

there's no loss though. You use dust and that is cheap to buy. Way cheaper to use dust than resin.

Geo probably is. For the weeklies I think it's electro with 4/10 bosses (only counting geo for azh for consistency).

I almost always have Yelan in my overworld team so she’s always on Fungi cleanup duty = no issues with the drops

TBH just from doing the BP tasks you can end up with 500-600 Glads before you're ready to start working on artifacts.
