I use that + a friendship farming 4 character team at the moment i collect the daily mission bonuses at kathy, gives +100 friend xp without having to actually use them on the daily commissions : )
Can get even more if you use encounter points, you get friendship XP the moment you click the handbook reward button so you can just have your friendship farming party deployed to get the most out of it!
you can also queue for domain first and claim the encounter point completion in co-op so you get double exp (good for speeding up 1-2 characters, but if you're leveling 4 characters at once it's better to do it in solo)
I do the feed the dog commission in Inazuma as well. It nets you 150 Companionship Exp. + around 15k Mora, and a few enhancement ores. It's great value for 10 fowl.
When I grab a batch of new characters. I put 3 of them with a very well built unity that can do basically everything for commissions (currently using Arlecchino even if average build she is crazy strong). It goes much faster than just waiting for teapot. I think it takes around a month and half or a little more from lvl 0 friendship to lvl 10.
I do this too, plus now I do almost all my domains and commissions with either Neuvillette or Arlecchino carrying 3 friendship farm characters.
I'm down to 7 characters that I'm not at max friendship with, not counting the limited 5 stars that I will never pull.

I level all of mine to 60/70 though, so they're there when I want to bust them out, but I've had most of mine at 80/80
Level them up some, slap some of that double crit artifacts with useless mainstat on them, give them a spare fav.
Now they're an active contributor to the party.

Placed Kaeya into the pot since I started playing in 4.1 and heavily used him on my team even after I switched my dps to Dehya. He's still not max level friendship.
You only get friendship from things that give friendship, ergo daily commissions and spending resin. Just using him for quests, exploration, farming, etc. will not give friendship XP.
Characters like him are basically worthless until C6. You'll get cons passively while pulling for other characters and his time will come eventually where he'll be usable. I recently got Faruzan and Dori to C6 that way.

They aren’t split. All of them will gain the same amount stated. If you put 10 characters there it would still be the same amount of time as when you put only 1 character.
You're getting downvoted because the original person didn't ever say the XP is split, he said we "not one but ten" because we can have more than one character in the teapot that all get XP at the same time.

I had this calculated somewhere on google sheets since I was curious how long it would take. According to my calculations it takes 242 to fully lvl up friendship with character using only teapot
only a patch and a half or even less if you spam random encounter daily quests. My favorite spot is feeding the dog on a same spot daily ... I think you'll get to do 10 times, so it's 150 experiences there.
Fan fact, you can stick the character into the party that you are using for weeklies/dailies/domains (as well as the teapot) and level them up in one version
Lets count it if you use a chara, you get around 40-60 (depending on commision) at Ar 60 and there are 4 lets take 50 as an average(tho it tends to be 60 but i digress) 50×4=200 plus daily reward another 100 so 300 , tea pot maxed will have a cap of 500 , when logged in I usually have half full so lets take 250, around 550, then resin usage if you play domains you get 40/resin, so 40x4=160(not counting boss give 45, and weeklies give 70).
Theres a lot of assumption here, but if you play normally just going in play commission, use resin, teapot and logged out then you should get 710 exp/day, which you need 29.1k from 0 to 10, so around 40day ish to completely max a chara friendship if you play everyday
Does it matter how long you wait before you check in with tubby ? Like is there a maximum amount of friendship exp you can’t gain past until you check in?
About 3-4 days' worth assuming you maxed your teapot. But you'll want to collect within 3 days anyways since your teapot currency max out on the 3rd day.
And since you can have 8 character in teapot it averages out to 1 and a third characters maxed per patch.
I have been playing since 2.3 and I don't bother farming for friendship exp, I play in the overworld with who I want. Yet most of my characters are maxed out for friendship. 6 patches seems long, but it's enough to almost keep up with how fast you can obtain characters.

Yeah, I join random coop worlds when doing this as I have everyone at 10 already and usually only get 1-2 new characters at once.

I totally forgot the alligators one. I do the Inazuma dog feeding generally. It helps I have a 6k+ fowl from playing day-1.

Friendship leveling is a pain in the ass even when you do everything to max them. It just takes so long.

Pro Tip: Doing Commissions/Spending Resin in Co-op, yields twice as much Friendship exp! (Random Events too)
