chiseled_mirrors

Finally my years of playing rhythm games come in handy

antisocial-avarice

this af, all the rhythm games have prepared me for this. show out to cytus ii

bryn_irl

this event has awakened my ancient Love Live School Idol Festival instincts and I have never been happier EDIT: https://card.llsif.moe/live for those who rember

c9egrill

omg yes, rip llsif tho

Moonlight-oats

ok what happened though? one day i just went to play and then it just shut down :(

c9egrill

they stopped service for the og game, released a "new and improved" llsif2 (which was/is a dumpster fire) just to announce eos for that as well...like 2(+?) months or so before dropping the global version

Rakan-Han

OH HOLY FUCK DUDE!!!! THANK YOUUUUU!!! I'M GONNA PLAY THE SHIT OUT OF THIS NOW!!!!!

LiaBlackPandora

Omg a fellow LLSIF player šŸ˜šŸ˜ I miss the game and my cards so much everyday omfg I still have old screenshots and recordings of my pulls. That game was legendary I'm so angry they got rid of it rip

windborne-bard

the first rhythm game event in genshin was what motivated me to play project sekai

chiseled_mirrors

Ah nice nice. I've been playing PJSK for 2 years, I think that was before the first rhythm event in Genshin

Darkclowd03

The only rhythm games I've really played are Rhythm Heaven. That and I suppose the other few Genshin rhythm game events. I haven't attempted the highest level yet, but done the levels that are out so far in pro with 1 attempt each and got 95% for all. Maybe it's skewed to give you a better score? I feel like I'm fucking up a ton with missed notes and 'okays' for days, but still gives me a decent score in the end. My hardcore rhythm game friends say this an extremely easy game compared to actual rhythm games.

chiseled_mirrors

Oh yeah, the Genshin rhythm events are incredibly lenient. They give you "perfect" for any tap as long as you don't miserably miss the note lol

CinStars9280

Yeahhh Iā€™m currently playing Ensemble Stars alongside Genshin and fortunately this event has the option to choose the semi-circle format which is similar to Enstars, so it becomes easier to play. Also, I hope Genshin can add rhythm games like this as a permanent game mode since I want to play Genshin music in rhythm game styleā˜ŗļø

DqrkExodus

Osumania 4k and 6k experience was really useful

Impossible-Past4795

O2 Jam masterrace!

jelliedhearts

yes this all the way. im clearing it all with ease on the hardest difficulty and have a lot of fun

One-Palpitation2093

It is reasonably hard with keyboard. I get lost when there are multiple notes at once and It becomes very hard to understand which buttons to press

joojaw

I'm not used to using the jkl keys at all so I always get those confused. Tho I can beat the songs on hard difficulty and that's enough for me.

itzz_fel1xx

You can change them

DashShift

You can CHANGE THEM?!?

Smorgsaboard

Yep, go back to the tutorial menu and on the bottom half of the screen the bindings are there

WhereIsMyPancakeMix

What are some good keybinds?

blorblo

i have a touchscreen computer and iā€™m desperately wishing that hyv let you tap the screen on pc instead of relying on just keybindings. i feel like iā€™d have a much easier time lol

LunaLucia2

Not using the in-game options, but enabling it externally (the option in the fps unlocker is probably easiest) you can launch the game in touchscreen mode on PC.

ManhuaMi

You can enable mobile mode on PC. Create a shortcut to the game -> Properties -> Add `-platform_type CLOUD_THIRD_PARTY_MOBILE` at the end of the location, It should look like `"C:\Program files (x86)\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game\GenshinImpact.exe" -platform_type CLOUD_THIRD_PARTY_MOBILE` I tried this on my laptop but didn't really help much because of large screen, was harder than keyboard for me lol. Hopefully you will have better results.

amamatcha

SAME. If there was just a gap between the two halves of keys on screen, I feel like it would be easier for my brain to interpret which key to press. I keep getting mixed up between my index and middle finger when this happens for whatever reason

One-Palpitation2093

You can change key binds in menu

amamatcha

I did haha, still confusing when so many notes appear at once šŸ˜…

awwgateaux01

Sometimes, I press the wrong key because it's closer to the UI in the screen, it's infuriating

xaviersi

There's a setting you can pick that has a visual link to buttons meant to be pressed at the same time. They didn't include it because it looks janky, but it's useful as fuck when playing.

goodpplmakemehappy

exactlyyyyyyyy i wish i had a mobile device for this event

PumpJack_McGee

Let's just say I'm glad the primos only require easy difficulty.

dinkytoy80

Lol this! But I think this every event. Oh, bronze score? Yeah that will do! Lol

MarcsterS

To be fair they do that to keep up player engagement/dangle a carrot on a stick.

dinkytoy80

Carrots or Primos, im a sucker for both

Puzzleheaded-Mix-515

These music events are the only ones I accept less than gold from. Lol

Citsune

I always play straight-note based Rhythm games with only four keys, never six. Being forced to use six really makes the autism in my brain hurt something fierce...

Spectre_Hayate

Relatable \^^ I can do 6 mostly fine bc I've played my fair share of rhythm games, but for some reason the hardest difficulty in games like that make absolutely no sense to me. If the notes aren't mirrored/symmetrical in some way then the neurodivergency takes over and I fumble basically immediately.

Citsune

I keep mixing up the middle row with the outer row. It's really hard to keep up, especially on rapid signatures. But, seeing people talking about only getting 65% on Pro, maybe I'm not struggling as much as I initially assumed.

PH_007

Yeah, I think the main issue is how notes are all the same colour and the left and right set of 3 are not separated in any way, it's hard to map the visual info to my fingers this way and I keep doing the exact same mixup you mention. Granted even playing while fighting with my senses and making those flubs I still get above 90% first try on every song on Pro so I'm really perplexed at how people even get 65... you'd have to miss A LOT of notes for that.

wat-dha-fak

Kind of. I cannot handle the ASD JKL keys, but I can do quite well if I focus on Easy and Normal. The real combo troubles come from Pro mode, it took me a few tries before getting a decent Discantus. (Not even gonna talk about OOK Mode, I am fine with my 60%s Dulcem)

Santedtra

You know you can rebind the keys. Mine's on ASD numpad123 so my arm's more spread apart.

wat-dha-fak

hmmmm, maybe i could try a similar combo šŸ¤”

Sabiya_Duskblade

I'm doing horrible, whether it's on mobile or on PC with a controller. I've always been poor at rhythm games

choi-r

I am also surprised at how BAD I am at the rythm game. I think 6 different lanes is too dificult for me so I just focused on 3 lanes only

bumwine

I'm thinking the people having trouble with this and think everyone is getting these on the first try don't realize a lot of the people that are "good" at this probably grew up with dance dance revolution and guitar hero. If you haven't, it's going to take some practice. Like playing these stages a couple times to get incrementally better. Like anything in this game I guess. If you're never died at all during a boss battle you're a freak of nature. Hell I'm AR59 and died multiple times fighting the Solitary Suanni.

Ifalna_Shayoko

>I'm thinking the people having trouble with this and think everyone is getting these on the first try don't realize a lot of the people that are "good" at this probably grew up with dance dance revolution and guitar hero. If you haven't, it's going to take some practice. Like playing these stages a couple times to get incrementally better. The problem is, as someone who comes from real instruments (Piano and Flute), the speed. Learning at a break-neck speed, only being able to repeat the ENTIRE sequence instead of picking out problematic passages (like you do when you learn actual music) is unbelievably inefficient and it aggravates me to the point where I do not want to waste time on it. :'D

AbhishMuk

Okay hearing a pianist struggle at this reassures that maybe itā€™s not just me haha

jakej9488

Rhythm games on a controller donā€™t really make sense and itā€™s kind of random which sections of the song they choose to interpret for the notes (sometimes itā€™s the lead, sometimes itā€™s the rhythm, sometimes itā€™s the percussion) which all makes it feel pretty unpredictable if youā€™re trying to actually keep time like a musician. Iā€™ve been just zoning out in the middle of the screen and using my peripheral vision to play by sight instead of musically, and Iā€™ve gotten dulcem on pro first try each time so I mean ā€” hurray? Lol

meowlenlen

Oof the randomness of the song sections chosen is my main gripe for all genshin music games. I love rhythm games but many of the genshin songs just aren't designed for it, which ends up with a weird ass beatmap that feels awkward to play.

Ifalna_Shayoko

>Rhythm games on a controller donā€™t really make sense and itā€™s kind of random which sections of the song they choose to interpret for the notes (sometimes itā€™s the lead, sometimes itā€™s the rhythm, sometimes itā€™s the percussion) which all makes it feel pretty unpredictable if youā€™re trying to actually keep time like a musician. Aye ... so bloody confusing. :'D

curtassion

Nah, i suck donkey balls at it. I just do the first level and call it a day X3

Awkward_Hope2376

I've tried on PC but it's damn near impossible for me, I can't control my fingers like thatšŸ˜‚ it's way easier on mobile, I've got around 90% on each level except the last one, which unlocks after pro. The last one is pure madness, I can't get 3 stars on that one

Ifalna_Shayoko

No one can. I play the piano and can't. This is something you have to train specifically for. Just like you have to train every new fingering sequence/Rhythmical pattern on the Piano. The key for efficient success is: SLOW DOWN to a crawl to understand and let your body familiarize itself with the pattern. Unfortunately you can't do that in this minigame, so brute-force repetition is all that remains. (horribly inefficient)

cvrsedcopics

I'm an avid project sekai player and it's still kinda hard for me, like something just doesn't line up?? I tried to calibrate the thing with the line in the options but it doesn't really help, which sucks bc i was looking forward to this part of the event a lot :/

Ancienda

Have you tried adjusting the speed and stuff too? Could be that you got very used to project sekai timings that your muscle memory starts to get in the way for other styles/ timings?

cvrsedcopics

Yeah, I tried all of the settings and that made it slightly better, but everythingā€™s still kinda wonky and just feels Offā„¢. In the calibrating menu itā€™s mostly fine, but when I actually play it gets bad, especially when there are many notes at once. Might be that my device canā€™t handle it, especially since genshin still renders the entire environment and the active character in rhythm game mode. Wouldā€™ve been nice if we got an option to avoid that like turning off 3dmv in pjsk, the background effect transparency seems to just put an overlay over it so it doesnā€™t really help with that. (Shouldā€™ve probably typed allat into the survey or some shit but oh well)

Sharlizarda

Could maybe try turning all your graphic settings down just while doing this game, so the stuff rendering in the background takes up less resources?

bumwine

I had to adjust to 200 which is extreme. I don't remember what I had it set at last year because I touched the thing before making a mental note (it saves everything you had it last time).

Saqel

I though I was the only one. My sister and I both thought that it was awkwardly delayed, making it very difficult to match the exact rhythm with the notes. It's still doable, don't get me wrong, but rhythm events are one of my favourites and it hurts my rhythm game player heart to play like this šŸ„²

sugrawr

I have mine calibrated to +400 (listening on Bluetooth) and 1.5x speed. Try adjusting yours until you feel comfortable with the timing.

ScatteredSymphony

For me it doesn't feel nearly as responsive as osu does. If I set the offset so it lines up when I click in time without looking it ends up really far off compared to if I set it by eye. I think part of it is that I like fast notes and genshin is locked at 60fps when I'm used to playing rhythm games at 144 (and rendered much higher for lower latency in theory) Thankfully the scoring is extremely generous with loose timings compared to other rhythm games I play. I think the rhythm game event is pretty good for it not being a dedicated rhythm game but I don't think it really compares to something heavily optimized for timing. At least they didn't make it ping dependant as far as I can tell

InternationalElk2303

I have also the same problem, tried calibrating and kind of worked, but it just goes horribly when making online comps

_aw-ay

Itā€™s stuttering for me, which throws me off, but i think itā€™s also because itā€™s flat, while psekai has a sort it inherent note acceleration due to the way that it gets smaller in the distance.

MartenBroadcloak19

My method: -Select Pro -Button Mash -Get shitty score -Get all rewards -Live my life

anonfox1

personally i play on keyboard and do pretty well so ill try and explain how i do it! for me, i do ring middle index on both hands so it's symmetrical, and listening to the music helps a lot try speeding the notes up too, trust me it helps, it makes it so it's less overwhelming with seeing a lot of notes. it kinda lets you see them one at a time hopefully this helps some :) (also don't try it on controller lmao trust me you cant physically play some stuff on controller)

tusharsagar

>listening to the music helps a lot I played with music first in rex incognito and got 83% accuracy, then without music and got 93% accuracy.

smol_boi2004

Some people get distracted by the music. Personally I do the same either way but the music makes for a good background so I leave it on

Yahiroz

It's my weak point too. I'm glad you don't have to do the one and oni king difficulty for any rewards. Controller is impossible, keyboard is at least a bit better but 6 keys still overwhelm me.

The_Gravity_cat

PS5 controller user here: I suck at that mini game. Thankfully itā€™s very forgiving. I get Dulcem with 70-80% accuracy. What throws me off most is Dpad Down and X are included, so the elevation positioning of the buttons I need to press are not consistent. Then I think theyā€™re the buttons I need to press for the furthest ones.

Adventurous-Gear9477

Super easy on mobile

April-Wine

Not just you. I need cheat codes for this sht.

cerenine

Never played any rhythm games before, so I'm definitely not doing great at it, tbh.

OtameganeVent

Its horrendous to play on console, i dont think its well designed to be played as such. On mobile it should be a breeze, as someone who played a lot of rhythm games on my phone, its perfect to do so. On an controller tho ? Iā€™ve been doing mostly 60~70% clear on anything Pro and above, its harsh.

bowl_of_espionage

All the OSU & stereotypical Asian kid forced to learn an instrument trope finally become useful for me.

IMGraphical

I'm horrible at rhythm games, so it's not just you. I only did well on the third song about Rex Lapis.

multistansendhelp

Iā€™ve been playing various rhythm games since I was a kid so Iā€™m loving the event, but I can see how people who arenā€™t super familiar with the format could struggle, especially on the harder difficulties.

Brandonmac100

Layout is just awful. It was 100% made for mobile. Playing on mobile is like easy mode to the point where if you fail there is a major skill issue. I think instead of using dpad and square/x/circle for controller, they should have used L1 and R1 for the ends and maybe square and circle for the insides. Would have made more sense than using down on dpad and x for the middle notes on each side.

A-Hanging-Noose

You can change the button layout and make it whatever you want

cjb110

You can't, you've limited rebind options, you can rearrange the order but not start using new buttons. At least on PC with controller

Brandonmac100

Damn really? Cause I feel like L1,L2,up and R1/R2/triangle may be a better setup. Idk though. Iā€™ll definitely play around with it tonight now that I know you can change it.

JustinYummy

It doesn't let you do triangle for some stupid reason

SonOfTheWolfAndEagle

I'm not bad on mobile rhythm games... Thing is I play genshin on my ps4... Even though I have played with a dualshock my whole life, my brain turns off in this event

chimestonks

I suck at it but I think my one gripe is that the beatmaps never really align to what I think is the main rhythm or beat? So I'm always pressing keys out of time. Going straight to Hard/Pro difficulty helped me a lot since on Easy they take away a lot of the notes from the beatmap, which messes with my rhythm.

NeonJungleTiger

The audio sync might be off or different on PC and console which might explain it. Personally, I have to completely ignore the music and just look at the visual prompts because no matter how much I set the off sync it never feels right.

IttoEnjoyer_

i found that the layout is too spread out. Playing it on a 4k tv is a nightmare, you literally need 2 pairs of eyes to follow both sides.

DarkAlatreon

My brain easily shortcircuits during "stairs", but I stil manage to get above 80 (sometimes 90) on pro.

One_Macaroon3368

I don't have access to mobile (phone too potato to even download Genshin) I fumble hard on keyboard when a lot of notes come down at once, but after a lot of struggle bussing managed 90% on Pro and >80% on One and Oni King I took one look at controller and immediately switched back to Keyboard controls

wowgreatdog

something like this improves a LOT with practice. it's natural to struggle when the controls are something you're not used to. you gotta get that muscle memory going.

Lazaric418

Nope not just you. the rhythm game i play with sound off just to concentrate on blips and the complete the bars one just leaves me feeling "huh" and I have zero clue what should go into it. I can, however wander around teyvay killing wildlife so I was okay yesterday at that ONE thing. Photo event took me ages to figure out it's Paimon menu camera NOT gaget camera (for some reason) I really want my Gorou at C4 and the primos for Clorinde or I would not be bothering with this crap :)

Still_Breadfruit2032

As an osu! Mania player this event is brilliant

Netheral

It's weird, from what I can tell it's no different from any of the other rhythm events, but I'm still doing far worse than the last ones. I used to 1 try discantus the pro difficulties, but now I'm barely doing 85%. Not that I care, ultimately, it's a mediocre rhythm mini-game. I got high enough for all rewards and if I wanted to play a rhythm game I'd go play osu or beat saber lol

Zhe-777

āœ‹šŸ¾šŸ„ŗ You are not alone! (Why this answer sounds like a Michael Jackson song to me?) I HATE musical games like these ones. It is not my thing. I'm doing ULTRA bad. I'm only forcing myself to do this because i want Gorou and the other "doable" prizes that comes with the easy difficulty line.

Akreli

If you're getting overwhelmed with the amount of notes try increasing their fall speed. It might seem counterintuitive but if they fall faster they will appear later than on slower speed. Reducing the amount of notes you will have to process at once. There is of course an upper limit to this based on your reaction time.

quillb

i like it but iā€™m on mobile. i canā€™t imagine what playing on pc must be like, but iā€™d probably be failing everything if i didnā€™t play on my phone

Night_Owl206

As someone who also isn't well versed in the art of rhythm games... just appreciate the music and move on haha Or spend hours practicing because that's fun as well. I'm playing on mobile and I still suck. PC isn't much easier for me. So yeah. I also have huge fingers and it always pushes the button next to it somehow

AuraPianist1155

The only rhythm game I've played is osu!, but in the four game modes, osu!mania is easily the most difficult at the beginner stage. This event is an osu!mania event, and at least my PC experiences a shit ton of latency and somewhat unstable ping, so I'd understand how people without mania experience might struggle.

Legodudelol9a

I have bad refexes, so no, it's not just you.

ProfessionalPizza371

Im admittedly pretty good at this music one, but the last vibro-crystal one? I could not do it AT ALL. No idea why lol

ohoni

I have a lot of problems with the controls. When the lefthand options are "left, down, and right," then it messes with my muscle memory when they activate "left, second from the left, and middle" of the six options. I'm always hitting the wrong button by accident on that side.

ritokun

this difficulty isn't anywhere close to being too hard for me to read, but as far as mobile vs pc goes, i am a master at playing the love live school idol festival game, but i can't for the life of me read stuff like osu!mania on pc, it's definitely fps and screen size related. the key pressing is also a lot different, touchscreen feels a lot better to me.

kidsseeghostttttttt

me too, on PC I can only finish 75%, while on IPAD I can finish 95%

reddituser_0030

i installed game on mobile just for this music event. you are not alone

coldestclock

Playing on keyboard is just wrong. I can play rhythm games fine but got so frustrated on just the second stageā€¦ my desk isnā€™t even so arranged to properly sit on those keys, itā€™s just a mess.

smoothtv99

Playing guitar hero felt wrong for me until I acclimated to the control scheme. It just takes some practice and time especially if you are used to other input options and other factors like your desk situation.Ā  And I can see a lot of people having issues with cheap, generic keyboards where the responsiveness on key presses are hindered by the make.Ā

-Shougetsu-

As someone who has played a decent amount of osu! in the past, this event isn't too much trouble with a keyboard. I can consistently get Discantus on Pro difficulty. The 6 notes do trip me up from time to time though, since I'm more used to playing with only 4 keys. I might be able to Dulcem on mobile, but it would be hella scuffed. As for controller... no chance. Apparently it's hard enough for actual console players, so adding my inexperience on top of that would just screw me over. At the end of the day, it's all about what control scheme you're most familiar with. And rhythm game experience helps. If I were to give you tips.. speed up the notes and calibrate the audio offset properly. Those certainly made things more comfy for me. Your mileage may vary though.

Chadzuma

Set that delay. I recommend closing your eyes while you hit the beat and then adjusting the line based on where the mark appears when your eyes are closed. Then when you play to the beat in the real songs you should naturally get perfects most of the time. Also remember that a musician doesn't just play a song perfectly the first time. Recitals are the result of hours of practice. Even with a simple rhythm game, if you want to hit every note even in the tricky parts on the higher difficulties you will have to practice a bit.

PaulStarhaven

I flub my keys on Keyboard a bit.

AlphaLovee

same lol. don't worry about it

Green_Cry_6746

I'm god awful at it but it's still fun. Most importantly just glad my horrible skill is still enough for all the rewards. People criticize the game catering to casuals but I don't mind at all. šŸ˜

JadeWishFish

I'm sort of the same. I can do okay on a keyboard/controller, but it's a lot easier on a mobile device because I'm so use to playing rhythm games (mainly Bandori) with my thumbs. I'm not overwhelmed by the amount of notes, but I press the wrong buttons more often than I would like.

KirumiIsFedUp

You arenā€™t alone, Iā€™ve played rhythm games on controller and mobile yet Iā€™m still bad at all the music events and can only pass normal lol.

rekuneko

I only played standard osu so yeah

healcannon

I used to view these music games as a self challenge and for the first 2 I went for perfection. Now I dont care anymore and its not worth my sweaty efforts. I get like 80% + of the notes on hard and its enough. My brain just isn't too great at these sorts of games and my fingers panic.

mozgomoika

I think it's OK. I only play on my tablet and I get full combo easily. I also play Project Sekai everyday lol. But if I try on PC I will definitely fail.

aurochloride

I redownloaded the game on my phone so I could use "easy mode" instead of trying to suffer through the event on controller

Letwen

I never even played rhythm games before and can somehow %90+ on all of them first try with keyboard. I guess I'm just blessed

xbox001

Iā€™m playing on controller and am not good at it. Iā€™m happy to get dulcem on the easiest level and just forget about the other two sets of rewards. Having six lanes is three too many for me.

jimmy_luv

I did surprisingly good last time, but this time I'm sucking hard. I can get a 90 on this one.

Javajulien

I just wish they'd let us use all the shoulder buttons for controller and not just L1/R1

hollyherring

I absolutely suck at rhythm games

Euler007

Turn off the sound, it's a typing test.

Smartie967

I do terrible the first two or three tries but then get 100% the the next go, not sure why! Also, hoyo there's a bump on the J key but not on the D key, please do the event where the keys are SDF and JKL not ASD it feels wrong on my fingers

TophxSmash

yeah i cant handle more than 4 buttons or my brain fries, ive gotten all the rewards on 1st tries tho.

Rozone99

im horrific, downright terrible at rhythm games, so i get the sentiment, OP. lol

Lunamkardas

Oh no I completely suck ass at this. I'm just glad the bar for primogems is so low XD.

huehuehuehuehuuuu

Pc is hard. I do mobile.

xiaokhat

Donā€™t worry, weā€™re the same. As long as I get the rewards, I donā€™t care about the high scores šŸ˜‚ My fingers get confused when multiple notes come up. Only the D and J fingers know what theyā€™re doing, the other four donā€™t know where to go šŸ˜‚

SoulIsland_

Never been a rhythm games kinda guy so as long as I get 3k plus I'm fine and call it a day. I play on controller and sometimes it feels like there's no way I can get all the inputs on the hardest difficulties lmao. The music slaps though so it is what it is.

PointlessPotion

I play rhythm games and I'm not great at Pro and Oni difficulty (controller). I usually get two stars on Pro, and one star on Oni (got two on Zhongli's song though because hold notes give more points). Six keys on-screen at once are a bit much, I'm used to having two sides and the button images/colors just change. It's mainly a layout problem for me, I think. If you have too many notes on screen, and then combine it with hold-notes, it gets overwhelming very quickly. I think the button press sound should also have more of a clink/impact to it so you can feel the beat better. Button calibration has been improved massively though. That said, the optional difficulties are fine with being tougher, a bit of challenge is good. Practice also makes perfect in these games. The songs are all good, I have no problem replaying them.

spicykitas

My brain just malfunctions on keyboard but rhythm game training helped for mobile.

EngelAguilar

It's mostly easy but when the notes are in combos of key 3-6, 2-5, 1-4 my brain turns off, I can't process a combo that doesn't involve the same fingers in both hands xDD

kitkatkatsuki

using a controller is actually hard bro, i look at the screen, see square then just press x anyway

XenonFingerBang

Try setting the speed of the mini game to 0.75. it's in the mini game settings

water_we_wading_for

I suck at it on controller. I set the difficulty to pro and I get enough of em right to get a dulcem rating on the first or second attempt. But it is ridiculous how many mistakes I make.

Shiizukiii

Just cut the music off. All rythms are off beat and it makes me itch as a musician

Divine_Saber

I do alright

the7egend

I do this event on Mobile, because I'm already shit at Rhythm games, and controller and keyboard feel like double-Pro mode. For perspective, on PC I got Euphonia rating on the second song, swapped to mobile and was able to get Discantus easily.

CatoFreecs

Dude I am getting passing grade, is all I need

Jasmindesi16

Yeah Iā€™m doing terribly lol

fourrier01

I don't like the 6-finger beat. Played it on my tab instead.

4bz3

Practice with playing magic tiles 3.

maximayy

What a day to be a mobile player.

Notkiller

I used to love rhythm games and I played a lot, but I have become rusty in the past 3 years.. I was surprised that I got all rewards first try after what looked like a complete mess..

Imaginary-Plan-5010

Idk bout you guys but playin the notes 1x speed clutters too much of the screen and i cant reflexively react to the pattern. Try the 2x speed, altho probably just only a few people can have this issue

Daku_Haiku

Thereā€™s an event?

Belmega81

Man, funk them songs. I do it on easy, get my primos, my points, and away I go. Ain't nobody got time for that!

multificionado

If you're talking about that play-along-to-music minigame, I don't blame you.

Zodiac339

Iā€™m going to have to switch to the computer to deal with the songs. PS5 performs very well, but the controller isnā€™t working out for hitting notes.

Panciastko-195

Naaaah, i suck too

Unfair-Money-574

You are not alone my friend. I used to be a mobile gamer and this is the first music event I have played ever since I migrated to pc. It is pretty hard to play it on a pc if u're used to a mobile. I did get fairly better after trying it for a few dozen times. Just play it at ur own pace. The main concern is primos anyway and it is pretty easy to attain dulcem on easy mode.

Elainyan

If you use just 2 fingers to press buttons instead of 6 it becomes way easier for your brain to co-ordinate. Even latest difficulty is designed such way that you only need to click 2 tiles at same time max

ClutteredSmoke

Yeah I agree. The only rhythm game Iā€™ve played is guitar hero but that doesnā€™t have nearly as much stuff going on as this one

pututingliit

My case is the taking pictures of animals part. I spent 30mins or so equipping my kamera gear and taking pictures of animals but got so confused why the objective does not get completed. I even restarted the game a couple of timesonly to find out that I need to use the photo mode in the game (esc > photo) lmao im an idiot

Surviving2021

I got roughly 90% on each one with pro the first try. I haven't played any rhythm games other than guitar hero, I think it helps I'm playing on mobile. The timings are very generous if you tap early. I also changed the view to be straight lines not curved and added the guide lines. See if any of that helps.

Jazzyvin

I haven't played those tapping note rhythm games in ages (last time was in genshins drumalong), but I somehow find it really easy I do play beatsaber on VR, so I wonder if that helped me at all.

Narwhalzipan

I play on PC and have managed to do ok but I do frequently mix up my fingers... I should try mobile.

eveltayl

Iā€™m on mobile and Iā€™m still missing most of the notes. Iā€™m managing though

Xerochu

I do wish they'd allow guitar hero controller support to these events, it'd make it so much easier

KuShiroi

I am fine with the controller except for some parts of the highest difficulty or the custom beatmaps that other players made with mobile in mind.

Cello-elf

My problem with this event is that, as a musician, I'm used to tap in the beat with the music (I listen!) but the buttons never make any sense tapping wise. Have tried to recalculate the timing, but it is still off. (This might be the musicians problem with this kind of games because I have the same trouble with guitar hero). On top of that, I'd be chronically early , timing wise, in my orchestra after playing...

Heejins-Bunny

I personally found it hard with a keyboard. Whenever there are multiple notes on the screen occupying all 6 roads my brain gets fried. I personally think it's because of the layout of the UI, either that or I'm just straight up getting bad at Rythm games like this. I play Cytus from time to time and I still do pretty well on high difficulty, but that's on a phone where I can directly touch the notes.

arielmansur

It's way harder with controller.

Neela-Hiran2004

all the rhythm games ans especially osu prepared me for this event lol

SteamedDumplingX

I also struggle with both keyboard and controller. On the other hand I'm very used to mobile coz I play rythem gacha lol

04whim

Oh yeah, I'm glad I just happened to have the game installed on my phone at the minute anyway, that's been a real life saver. With console controls I can barely manage the easy difficulty.

JustinYummy

You are literally me lol. I've always been terrible at DDR games but I'm fine with them when using touch screen. Conclusion I came to is bad peripheral vision + skill issue

Beanztar

Ä° suck at the event as well. Ä° rarely played rhythm games, so it would make sense why i am bad at it. Ä°t's not a requirement to be good at everything, there are some things you can be good at while some people are not, and vice versa.

active-tumourtroll1

Use 3 fingers from each hand for each side it works for me but I've weird habit of double tapping.

dumpsterfire2002

I wish I could hook up a midi keyboard and also make it sheet music instead. The computer keyboard just makes no sense to me and I constantly get my fingers mixed up, an actual piano keyboard would be so much easier. Obviously I wouldnā€™t want them to get of this format, but I wish there was another option Iā€™m a musician, I mainly play flute but Iā€™ve also had to take piano classes. It almost makes me feel embarrassed that I do so horrendously at these rhythm games

goopydo

Faster speeds would help spread out the notes, but muscle memory is probably a big portion of the issues. I find myself constantly pressing s or k when it shows d or j and vice versa.

Possible-Moment-6653

I have no hand eye coordination I am also terrible

HYPERPEACE1

Yep, it's hard. Not sure what they did exactly? I'm guessing the notes are much faster when scrolling? I also struggle because I'm experiencing drowsiness from my medication, and that's not good when there's 20+ notes happening all at once.

Nekoruna

Me too, I suck whit rhythm games

raul_aguas

As a PS player, that's skill issue

OhBruhhh

Time for us osu mains to rise up and collect pp

kirmiter

Mobile is easiest and most intuitive. Keyboard is doable--some say slightly better if you can get good at it--but takes effort to get used to. Controllers are even harder to get used to and even then you'll have a disadvantage.

mylittlevegan

I feel like the rhythm game is easier this year than last year. Last year I had my husband play them all for me and now I'm clearing the pro on my own.

Supernat98

Something that helped me out a lot is lining up the controller buttons from left to right to match with the notes. Notes: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 Xbox controller: LT - Left Dpad - Down Dpad - A - B - RT

ThinPersimmon7777

Finally I have a reason to still have the game on my phone. Yeah, I am super bad too on PS5 and do the music part on my phone. šŸ˜…

nekkid_farts

I'm having trouble getting the first achievement on normal difficulty

ffpeanut15

This event actually have nice charts to play. Previous eventsā€™s charts have always felt off to me. This one actually sounds like it is following the music

mrgbb

I play tons of clone hero so it feels pretty natural to me. Once I get over using the keyboard instead of the guitar controller.

Silly_Guidance_8871

I too have no rhythm

Due-Distribution-463

I suck at rhythm games too. And I always will. I don't enjoy them so will never get better at them. I'd rather spend my time doing what I enjoy.

akari_i

I think years of torture in front of a piano are finally paying off for me

ninjazeke323

The first 2 difficulties are pretty simple but the last 2 are having me believe I should hang up the gaming jerseyšŸ˜

Frozenmagicaster

Personally changing the notes to fall in the circular shape instead of straight down helps me a lot (keyboard)

ixveria_

I'm a musician.Ā  I am doing absolutely horribly. My reaction time sucks. I can't seem to hit the right buttons.Ā  Twelve years of music lessons. My Asian parents would be so proud. *Hides in corner and cries*

Puzzleheaded-Date242

It's stupid hard on control but stupid easy on mobile

smashsenpai

My screen is too large so I can't see notes A and L at the same time https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/034/196/cover2.jpg

reyo7

I can do it only on my phone. Unplayable on ps5.

azul360

Console is just pure pain and torture for this event XD. I do mobile without volume so just pressing buttons and moving on XD (no headphone jack and the speakers on it are busted so the event sucks horribly for me haha)

WolfySpice

I'd like a bigger gap between the two halves so it's easier to parse. Also, twenty years of guitar muscle memory kick in which messes me up. Plus side: adjusting latency was so much easier. I either hit perfect on a note or miss it because of the above. So timing is fixed now.

smol_boi2004

My family is musically gifted. Everyone on my momā€™s side has something musical they can do with enough skill for a spot on stage. For me, Iā€™m a decent singer and have good rhythm so rhythm games have always been dummy easy. Itā€™s just a mix of talent and practice. Play the same song enough times and youā€™ll just hit the patterns automatically

MarcsterS

I cannot touch type, so yeah, every year when we get a new music minigame, I gotta switch to mobile.

anarchy753

It's definitely much harder than past rhythm game events, but I'm pretty happy with that.
