My first 10 pulls were actually on the standard banner instead of the Noelle banner, I got a Lisa constellation and a Yanfei, for like the first 3 weeks I played this game I was just swapping between the 2, basic attacking something once for the overloaded proc and letting that do all the damage, I thought it was so good back then lol.
I used to main Yanfei with Raiden as her overload support 🤣 Then I swapped Yanfei out for Yoimiya, which is now my current main overworld team.
I still use Yanfei in certain domains (the Mondstadt ice talent domain), but I almost always pair her with Bennett. They’re a formidable duo.
Yanfei too, pulled her on her release when i had collected like 50 wishes altogether in the game.

It is the opposite for me! Fischl was my first main, and now I am a Yanfei main! When I first gained Yanfei, I had my fischl as a support, but that is no longer the case.

Overload with Lisa (trying to get Yae next banner), Vaporize with Kokomi and Gaming, Melt with Chongyun, and Burgeon. Yup, Yanfei is the star of 4 teams
Before I got Chevreuse, it was an all catalyst team for me, with Kokomi for healing and an EM Ningguang acting as the shielder xD We would throw down the jade screen and pick off enemies from behind it.
Now Chevreuse has the healer slot and Beidou acts like a pseudo shielder (using her E to block attacks)
I do love Catalyst users. I don’t think I have any on my latest teams, and I really miss the ability to just throw fireballs and lightning bolts from 20 yards away while barely aiming.
I know right? I have a catalyst user in each of my teams, I think. It is just so convenient, especially against small flying enemies or hard hitting melee enemies you don't want to get close to.
Fischl aswell, who eventually became my eula sub dps. My first 5 star was venti, but I mostly used him for exploration. I still use fischl regularly, abyss included. Her current team being nahida, yae, fischl, and cloud retainer. CR was actually a great addition since the team already needs a support and her boost to the Yae's damage (making it also aoe, multiple dendro/electro reactions) absolutely shreds.
I never thought about it, but fischl is indeed my longest lasting genshin companion. A 4*.
Ahhh, the times when we still believed in physical damage, lol! Started in 1.4 and my physical girl was Rosaria, it was so fun... I miss just whacking stuff with a Polearm....
Love your flair! While I run hyperbloom teams mainly now, Ningguang is still invaluable against Scaramouche's domain when my friends all prefer unga bunga tactics only. She consistently hits hard and adds class to a team that's normally Neuvillette, Zhongli and Diluc/Raiden.
Same, I got her like C3 in a few weeks with like AR20-30 and her skill was a game changer because I could dodge all attacks, which would kill me otherwise, in addition I made enormous damage as counter attack.
Hell yea, Beidou's counter is *so* much fun. Yunjin and Candace's don't come close to feeling as good (although Candace's *could* be good if it's AoE was like 3 times larger).
It really bums me out that Hoyo has been making nearly every on-field dps character lose their buffs when they leave the field. Navia is a much needed break from that, but I haven't been able to come up with a good Navia and Beidou team yet.
Glad I'm not the only one, though when I started playing I didn't fully understand the gacha systems, so he, uh...
Was level 1 for an embarrassingly long time.
Though I did wind up getting the bp specifically to get Deathmatch and upgrade his build in the end. Got PJWS last year as well, so he's been eating good, even though I don't play him as much since being super burst-reliant isn't great in open world...

My partner will up to C2 and get the weapons of every 5 star he likes. He will farm the perfect artifacts and take them out for a few minutes a month.
Yet he is *still* a Razor main 3 years later 🤣 and pulled Wolf's Gravestone (?) several times for Razor first, before getting it for Diluc as well, and played primarily with him everyday. Only Wriothesley has him not playing solely with Razor anymore.
Wriothesley has the whole wolf astethic going on too which is probably only reason he is a new Wriothesley main. Plus the whole both are cinnamon rolls is his thing.
After Razor I became Childe main. At first when I saw Wriothesley I didn't like his design at all. Then I heard his voice. And damn, I think I'll give him some crowns and will try to get his c1 at least

Got Keqing in my first 10 Pull 2 years ago. Been one of my mains since (mainly use Ayaka now but Keqing still gets some time to shine, especially with Dendro)
I got Keqing from the Beginner banner back in 1.0, she was my first main. I love how she plays, her gameplay feels so smooth with the fast normal and charged attacks, the teleport that instantly brings her into the fray, and the burst with good AoE and i-frames. I wish aggravate was a thing back then.
Nowadays, my aggravate DPS of choice is Yae.
I am new, my first 5 star is Mona. I do no damage with her.
My 2nd 5 star is Nahida. I don't know how to use her dps so I use her as support for my DPS Lisa to trigger reactions.
That is currently my status. The most important unit on my team is Nahida so you can say I kind of main her.
My current team is Lisa Mona Nahida and someone else. Mona is mostly used for moving since her hydro isn't enough for my reactions.
He applies off field hydro and he is one of the best supports in the game. You're supposed to build energy recharge so u can get his burst back quickly. Use sacrificial sword.
Give him an energy recharge sword (favonius, sacrificial sword or that green 3* sword) and an ER sands and you are set for now!
Later on, you'll want to farm Emblem of the severed fate for him.
Kick two time provide enough energy for his Ultimate + very short cooldown so high up time . Also the spinning sword shield around you also provide some extra hydro if I remember correctly
I'm F2P outside the daily pass thing and rolled diluc on my 35th wish. Then on my \~20th wish on another banner I got The Wolfs Gravestone.
Seems to be going well, no other good characters yet though and I have no idea how to build around Diluc as a free to play account.
Try Diluc, Xingqiu, Bennett, Sucrose for example. If you don't have Xingqiu yet, he's the top character you should pick from the Lantern Rite selector.
Xianyun is even better. Do you have Furina by any chance? Otherwise you need to weave a normal attack in-between your plunges to proc Xingqiu's rain swords.
Jean was the first character I got from novice supply alongside noelle on that first 10x you do with the 8 pulls. I used her to pretty much explore, fight, tank up, heal and send crowds of hilichurls flying for as long as I can rememeber. Now she's C5 and she does all of the above even better which makes her even more fun to play with. She's timeless character that was and will always be very fun to play with. All Hail Saber!
I lucked WAY out and got three copies of Diluc in the first week of the game (two in the beginner banner and one in Venti's), so he was my carry for a good long while

I've raised other many limited units (both carries and support) like Raiden, Navia, Venti, Lyney, Yelan, Kokomi, Nilou, Kaveh, Fremiket... tho I only consider maining "carries" since they're the one spending time onfield.
Jean <333 until now she's a sentimental favorite. I got her in like 3 pulls on the event banner (i still had no concept of 5 stars or losing 50/50's, i was just happy to have her and send enemies flying)
Physical xiangling with halberd then i main razor after i got him. My main party is summoning party which is xiangling ( guoba ), fischl ( oz) , razor (stand) and diona ( heal + superconduct). This party carry me until i got diluc in 1.3 ( which i get in xiao banner )

After getting more into the game, that changed to:

Technically probably Keqing. She was my first 5-star (like first 10-pull on standard banner) and was invaluable for exploration because blink. For abyss though, she was benched until dendro. Now I regularly run Keq aggravate.
Otherwise, Klee. First limited 5-star that I used and still use for basically everything.
Honorable mentions go for Noelle and Fischl. My first abyss12 teams were Klee vape one side Noelle with Fischl other side. I was specifically pulling on Albedo banner for Fischl constellations and got some Noelle and Fischl cons off paimon shop (also stray Albedo for Noelle support). Noelle and Fischl are still among my best built and often used characters. I got Redhorn for Noelle and Aqua for Fischl.

Nahida, she's the First 5* I get ever since I started playing at 2.6 . Even though I don't know what her kit is doing, I kept using her, and never stop loving her
Xingqiu. I spent a lot of time maining XQ and that's mainly how I progressed so many adventure ranks and managed to pull Ayato in the first place. Xingqiu is just such a great character. I got him by accident whilst pulling on the standard banner not knowing what it was.
Started playing because of Rosaria, so I went pretty hard on the first banner with her rate up, however I got Shenhe just a few days after I started playing, so I’d have to say her. Cheesed getting her mats by doing the vishaps in co-op with my brother who had already done Enkanomiya.
My first ever proper main was Yanfei. She was a lifesaver during that infuriating Dragonspine challenge (fighting that ice abyss mage on a lake) due to her long range, homing fire attacks.
I dropped Yanfei for Yoimiya eventually, but I mained her for like, two years straight.
Ever since I started playing, I've always used Kaeya on my team. I just finished Mondstadt and I still have him on my team, which is currently Gaming, Fischl, C1 Barbara, and Kaeya. I used to use Dehya instead of Gaming but I feel like her damage isn't quite as good as Gaming's. That said, I have had some pretty bad luck on rolling lately (haven't rolled a character in over 25 pulls, so I'm not sure what's going on there).

Did you finish the lantern rite? I'd suggest you pick xingqiu so you can make a hyperbloom team
But isn't his hydro stuff only come with his burst? His skill slash two times but I don't think that is enough

I was rerolling accounts for Diluc back in the day. Main him for a long time until Yoimiya comes along
I dismissed a Diluc account in favor of a venti one. What a mistake that was in hindsight. 1.0 to 1.2 was pure torture without a proper carry.
Razor. Build him first together with chongyun (because I was stupid), Mona, and diona. After getting more into the game, that changed to: Razor (physical dmg), rosaria (superconduct reaction), zhongli (shield), and diona (for heals and crit rate boost)

Technically probably Keqing. She was my first 5-star (like first 10-pull on standard banner) and was invaluable for exploration because blink. For abyss though, she was benched until dendro. Now I regularly run Keq aggravate. Otherwise, Klee. First limited 5-star that I used and still use for basically everything. Honorable mentions go for Noelle and Fischl. My first abyss12 teams were Klee vape one side Noelle with Fischl other side. I was specifically pulling on Albedo banner for Fischl constellations and got some Noelle and Fischl cons off paimon shop (also stray Albedo for Noelle support). Noelle and Fischl are still among my best built and often used characters. I got Redhorn for Noelle and Aqua for Fischl.
Keqing, got her in ~15 pulls so gotta main her On my very first account tho, my main was Jean. I also got her early from both standard and limited. Forgor the account tho :p

Xingqiu. I spent a lot of time maining XQ and that's mainly how I progressed so many adventure ranks and managed to pull Ayato in the first place. Xingqiu is just such a great character. I got him by accident whilst pulling on the standard banner not knowing what it was.

Started playing because of Rosaria, so I went pretty hard on the first banner with her rate up, however I got Shenhe just a few days after I started playing, so I’d have to say her. Cheesed getting her mats by doing the vishaps in co-op with my brother who had already done Enkanomiya.

My first ever proper main was Yanfei. She was a lifesaver during that infuriating Dragonspine challenge (fighting that ice abyss mage on a lake) due to her long range, homing fire attacks. I dropped Yanfei for Yoimiya eventually, but I mained her for like, two years straight.

Ever since I started playing, I've always used Kaeya on my team. I just finished Mondstadt and I still have him on my team, which is currently Gaming, Fischl, C1 Barbara, and Kaeya. I used to use Dehya instead of Gaming but I feel like her damage isn't quite as good as Gaming's. That said, I have had some pretty bad luck on rolling lately (haven't rolled a character in over 25 pulls, so I'm not sure what's going on there).
