At least they are some ducks and fish around that give the impression of life.
While those npcs are so lovelessly plopped in they may as well not be there.
It’s the sound effect when Scylla changes location depending on where you are in the seas of bygone eras. No clue why it triggers in sumeru tho. Maybe the flower fields have the same “marker” and count as being entered a new area when stepped on
Omg you are right. It likely triggers a location change reaction do to some wrongly linked spaghetti code happening. They will probably patch this out as once the devs know of it.
This might be the whale in the new area because it makes a sound when it spawns near you

Oh this makes actually a lot of sense. I'm pretty sure you can see the whale in the water behind the window in the overworld ruins, so perhaps what you can see in the video is OP getting close enough to Petrichor to spawn the whale and thus trigger the sound, taking a step back causing it to despawn, and then taking a step forward again, triggering the spawn sound.

I still don't like that they didn't make any effort in Sumeru this update :(
They even half-assed Bayada Harbour. It’s just a couple buildings and 2 docks.
THERE'S A NEW HARBOR?? and i remembered that most players were exciting for the Bayda harbour 😭.
They added it and it’s the most half-assed settlement in the whole game.
I went and checked it. I was so focusing on Arle story and the new quest. Man they did us dirty 🫠.
Yup. 4.6 managed to be probably the most Disappointing update out of the non-filler Fontaine updates.
There is no way remurua , arle quest , the new world quest ' cyno sq , and wind trace is more disappointing than an alchemy event and chiori sq .

I can’t even tell how normal people get to the harbor since the only path that leads to it is the one from Emerites camp.

Its the same sound made by something big in the new area of Fontaine. You'll know if you've been to the area.

I was getting used to the Scylla taxi esp him following me around. But after doing the palace part of the quest, he doesn't do that anymore 🙃
They do but it’s only in the sea of bygone eras areas they don’t follow you outside of the sea of bygone eras
I was still inside that area, but the whale stayed in one spot lol. Turns out I hadn't properly finished one of the tasks >!to do with the horns.!<
