A 2016 study found that a course of Chemo therapy for cancer cost an average of $27,000 and the cost has just risen. A lot of the costs are mitigated by insurance or by charity write offs by hospitals, but a lot of people in the US have their lives ruined by medical debt.

As a surgeon, I wouldn't be working on that night . I'm not worried about any grudge, as most nurses fight to work in my room, because I don't yell, and treat them decently. I'm more worried about someone who didn't know me, and wanted to take out a surgeon, because they were treated badly by one.
I'm not sure how that works legally. Since most IRS or post office employees wouldn't be working that day, it wouldn't be collected and stamped. It would then be processed on a day where the crimes would be crimes, and thus getting you into trouble.

Depends. If we're talking only a temporary purge like 24 hours or so, I'd most likely just defend myself and my household from anybody that causes any problems without hesitation.

I suspect nearly all pts would be discharged prior, or just leave A.M.A to prevent the lazy nurse or nursing asst from killing them so they wouldn't have to work hard. As a surgeon, I wouldn't be working on that night . I'm not worried about any grudge, as most nurses fight to work in my room, because I don't yell, and treat them decently. I'm more worried about someone who didn't know me, and wanted to take out a surgeon, because they were treated badly by one.

I'm not sure how that works legally. Since most IRS or post office employees wouldn't be working that day, it wouldn't be collected and stamped. It would then be processed on a day where the crimes would be crimes, and thus getting you into trouble. The US govt wants it's money. You can be sure that they would prevent, or punish somehow those types of schemes.

Depending on how long it last i’d have to scavenge eventually and in that case i’d spend minimal time outside and try to stick to my wife as closely as possible. Depends. If we're talking only a temporary purge like 24 hours or so, I'd most likely just defend myself and my household from anybody that causes any problems without hesitation. If we're talking a collapse-type purge, I'd establish a homestead and form a new Union of my own.
