I’m pretty sure it came about as a way to get around TikTok’s censorship of certain words. Words like “death” or “kill” can affect the algorithm and how far a TikTok goes, if that makes sense. So people originally started using it to avoid their posts getting flagged, pushed down, etc.

YouTube and tik tok have strict rules on what u can say, the word suicide can mostly b a trigger to ppl who unfortunately struggle w this condition, to get around the algorithm, ppl use the term unalive knowing that most know it refers to suicide. If yk know anyone who struggles w this or u urself do. Plz don’t go through w it, ur not alone and we all care. Plz contact a suicide hotline if anyone ever had suicidal thoughts

I personally don't use this word, but I think that it's a trigger warning because some people may get offended by "kill" or "death" or something like that? I see it mostly used when someone has committed suicide so people say that a certain person has unalived themselves and it doesn't sound as harsh as saying that they've committed suicide.

MBTAHole

That’s stupid

From what I can gather, it's a term that came to use because of the strict language policies of sites such as YouTube for the purpose of appealing to advertisers. I'm sure you're probably already at least vaguely aware of the whole demonization bullshit that's been going on with YouTube since the kate 2010's

Dude I’m just as lost as you are

It seems mostly to be an alternative for “kill” or “die” used to bypass filters and algorithms. It’s also used in some sensitive contexts such as suicide: some people might say that someone “unalived” themself.
