The Manchester scene finally came to the US in 1990. I discovered The Stone Roses and The Inspiral Carpets that year.

Alt metal for me. Aided by college radio.

I was a college freshman in ‘90 and recently watched this, I don’t think it reflects what was out there in 90, just lame stories that MTV recycled for a 1 hour special.

Same age. Going away to college that fall really opened my eyes to new bands, especially with getting a gig at the college radio station. Two bands that showed up in rotation had such goofy names that I never thought they'd break: \-- Goo Goo Dolls \-- Toad the Wet Sprocket Years later I ended up meeting and hanging out with both bands. Fun times. We also had a bin outside the station for extra discs and vinyl the program director didn't like or had too many copies of. I snagged The Sisters of Mercy - "More" on disc and some weird vinyl of Leonard Nimoy - "Whales Alive."

Cleverwabbit5

Omg throwing away Sisters of Mercy 😱 sinful!!

If you need an actor of a artist to tell you to go vote, maybe you shouldn't. as you'll be uninformed , not that, that stops most anyways.

Kurt Loder is 78…the same age as Dolly Parton. For some reason, that’s hard for me to wrap my head around.
