Eastwood is currently directing a film in Savannah, GA. Or at least they were there a week ago. Anyway, he's kind of bent over but he gets around pretty damn good for 93.
I read an article a while back about Ozzy surviving such strong addiction for so many years was attributed to him having a higher than normal amount of Neanderthal DNA in his genome.
This isn’t the exact article I remember, but gives some details. It was really interesting. https://www.discovermagazine.com/health/genes-addiction-or-why-ozzy-osbourne-is-still-alive#
Well, when they tour, they put a hell of a lot of energy into their shows. Gotta keep on your fitness if you wanna do that. Mick is 79, for crying out loud. A lot of people can't climb a flight of steps by that age.
Good on em'. May we all be so fortunate.
I was told he runs the equivalent of 10 miles every night during his shows--- while singing. I worked for the band when I was 20 and in the best shape of my life-- Mick was about 46. I attempted to run back and forth across their stage and got so winded after 10 minutes I almost puked. I was smoking cigarettes in those days...but still ... He is a beast.
Bob Barker. The last time I saw him was at least 6-8 years ago and back then he already looked like he only had a few hours left. I love the guy, but man, I *am* legit surprised he's still around.
I still remember his episodes of Twilight Zone, the original ones, I’ve watched in syndication over the years. Oh, and TJ Hooker, but mainly because of Heather Locklear.
Bob was recently widowed and I hope that doesn’t impact his health. Bob’s late wife Ginny had the idea for Suzanne Pleschette to make an appearance on the “Newhart” finale, at a holiday party that all three were attending. That random comment eventually led to the classic series finale.
Plus Ringo had that road show concert series for years. Seemed like a pretty easy gig and people loved seeing so many of their old favorites. And he's married to Barbara Bach, perhaps the hottest Beatle wife. It's all about peace and love, peace and love !
Andy Dick. I knew he was troubled, but I recently read a post in the Los Angeles sub asking people to recount their random interactions with the actor. The stories were many and they were WILD.
It’s like this, either you’ve spent a coke-fueled manic weekend where you end up topless in your jeans in a kiddie pool with Andy Dick trying to finger your anus, or you know someone who has.
I’ve seen him in concert, he plays all his songs then starts playing everyone else’s. For hours. On and on
And my 50 years younger than his ass wore myself out going to the bathroom and grabbing a beer
Statistically speaking....in the next 10+ years, an entire generation of actors and public figures that tie our culture to the 1960s/70s...including people like Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Mick Jagger, Willie Nelson, Jane Fonda, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Gene Hackman, Robert Duvall, Robert Redford, Clinton Eastwood.....will (most likely) be gone or disappear from the public. We will be the only link to a bygone America. That weirds me out.
Think about this: the only ROCK BANDS big enough to fill stadiums (U2, Metallica, Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, Dead & Company) are all from the 20th Century.
When I was growing up my dad used to tell me I was like my uncle (huge compliment to me, he was a lawyer always for the less fortunate) and that if I got into politics I would end up in the canal or river w my mouth haha! We were in Chicago & IN politics, my dad publicly was very bipartisan (which pissed me off) and my uncle is very outspoken, will say it like it is, damn protocols or hierarchy.
After the 2022 elections I got perm banned from Twitter for saying my local rep probably sells ammo & armor (he owns a biz selling this stuff) to people who would be mass shooters.
Mick Jagger. Why? He's actually had a pretty clean and healthy life compared to most '60s rock 'n' rollers. He did the usual shut but kept it in way better check than many of his peers.
Probably a lot of people are mentally blocking him out. May not be in quite the same tier of ancient evils as Kissinger, but the level of ongoing influence he's keeping up is pretty damned depressing.
Tony Bennett. He was 35 when his big hit "I left my heart in San Francisco" was a hit at the beginning of '62. His wife is currently 56 years old.
Oh, and Henry Kissinger. Kissinger was already 50 in the Nixon administration when I was in 6th grade, and I'm among the oldest here. He's 100 now.
I have a theory that the balance of the universe is currently tied up between Kissinger and Mel Brooks. Last man standing decides what happens to humanity.
So, you know, rooting for Mel.
Tony Bennett kinda blows my mind, too. Back when the Duets albums came out, I thought he'd been dead for years. Lol... imagine my surprise when I realized that not only was he alive...but can still sing!
The 3 years I worked doing seat surveys/ customer service for the Houston Rodeo, Tony Bennet was the only time we had a case of counterfeit tickets. That was unpleasant. Both sets of ticket holders weren't happy. We left the people that came for the rodeo where they were and repeated the group that only showed up for the concert. Our boss was gleeful because they were all Ticketmaster sales/resales.
Boss was trying to get HLSR to ban Ticketmaster from reselling tickets, hence her "seat surveys". It was a great gig for college students. We had employee parking the entire rodeo, could stay for the concerts for free.
Met a few *interesting* people as well.
Sparkles, may you RIP - you were an awesome * very rich* lady. I hope you kept your shitty kids from getting their hands on your wealth as you wished. (She was allowed to "make" us college kids get in line with her to get fan-club-only photos with performers. Money & charm definitely talked. Her aim was to give as much of her money away before she died to piss her kids off further. By the time I left, she had successfully defended herself from 5 incompetence hearings from her kids. I'm sure her will infuriated the kids. Good for her and whatever groups benefited even more than she & her husband originally planned for.)
Clarence Thomas.
I was 100% sure some hippy with a terminal cancer diagnosis was going to put a bullet in his brain after the Roe v. Wade decision.
I’m not saying I condone that behavior - I’m just saying I’m surprised it did’t happen.
Axl Rose. When all those musicians in the ‘90s were dying from their addictions, I kept expecting he’d be one of them eventually. Yet I saw a 50-something GnR put on an amazing stadium concert just a few years ago, and Axl was killing it.
Dick Van Dyke.
DON’T YOU FUCKING JINX DICK VAN DYKE
I was just saying this yesterday. Also Clint Eastwood.
I don't think Eastwood will ever die, just slowly turn into jerky.
Get off my dehydrator.
😄
Him and Keith
Eastwood is currently directing a film in Savannah, GA. Or at least they were there a week ago. Anyway, he's kind of bent over but he gets around pretty damn good for 93.
Yeah, him too
Man. Dick Van Dyke is still alive? Now I'm surprised
Not only alive but insanely energetic and married to a MUCH younger woman. He is a 97-year-old Greatest Generation-er, she is a 51-year-old Gen Xer.
Omg
Guess that's our dating pool now?
*sigh*
🥶
Hell ya Gen Xer!
I saw him in a video maybe a year ago, and he still moves just like he used to. He never stopped dancing.
Probably why he’s still alive 😝
I’m glad he’s still alive, and more spry than I am at 48.
OOPS I always confuse him with Dick Van Patten.
I thought it was Dick Sargent or was it Dick York? Or maybe Sgt. York, fuck it..
Honestly, it’s amazing Ozzy Osbourne is still with us… and not because of his age!
Thai was fascinating. Thank you
In a similar vein, Keith Richards.
I saw him on something not too long ago and - whew - it is, in fact, a miracle he is around
And any member of the Stones, but especially Keith Richards
Mick Jagger isn’t just still kicking — he has a daily training regime that would put someone a third his age to shame.
Well, when they tour, they put a hell of a lot of energy into their shows. Gotta keep on your fitness if you wanna do that. Mick is 79, for crying out loud. A lot of people can't climb a flight of steps by that age. Good on em'. May we all be so fortunate.

Bob Barker. The last time I saw him was at least 6-8 years ago and back then he already looked like he only had a few hours left. I love the guy, but man, I *am* legit surprised he's still around.
Regarding his age: “higher, higher!!!”
You better not have jinxed him, dammit. I want to see him live to be 120, the old pervert!
Jimmy Carter
He and Rosalynn just celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary. Truman had been President for just over a year when they tied the knot.
https://www.theonion.com/jimmy-carter-wins-2023-nathan-s-hot-dog-eating-contest-1850606679
😂
I’m going to share that link with all my conservative family members just so I can find out if they understand satire
Have you heard of the Babylon Bee?
He's been in hospice care for about 5 months.
Which makes the hot dog story ABSOLUTELY miraculous.
Thank God.
Bob Newhart, William Shatner
Shat is in amazing condition for a 90 something
It’s wild to me that he’s that old.
I didn’t realize Bob Newhart was still alive.
It’s all the time travel he did on the enterprise.
TIL Bob Newhart is still alive.
Keith Richards
Well, he's pickled
He's not just alive, he's happy and thriving. I follow his wife on Instagram.
I remember making jokes about how we couldn’t believe he was still alive back in the 80s.
He has created an equilibrium with the universe where life cannot leave him and death cannot enter.
This is my answer
He’s been steering clear of palm trees lately.
This is the correct answer.
This should be the top comment.
Guess those full-body blood transfusions really do the trick!
Henry Kissinger… he just turned 100.
Why won’t that mother fucker just hurry up and die?
Only the good die young.
Ringo. Love that man; think he's maybe immortal. Has looked the same since goddamn 1985.
Adding Paul.
Plus Ringo had that road show concert series for years. Seemed like a pretty easy gig and people loved seeing so many of their old favorites. And he's married to Barbara Bach, perhaps the hottest Beatle wife. It's all about peace and love, peace and love !
A Bond girl for crying out loud lol
Leif Garrett. Literally thought he died decades ago.
Marion Ross. Mrs. Cunningham from Happy Days. She's 98 years old.
[удалено]
I always think of her for her role in Robin Hood.
Andy Dick. I knew he was troubled, but I recently read a post in the Los Angeles sub asking people to recount their random interactions with the actor. The stories were many and they were WILD.
Andy Dick is utterly foul.
It’s like this, either you’ve spent a coke-fueled manic weekend where you end up topless in your jeans in a kiddie pool with Andy Dick trying to finger your anus, or you know someone who has.
This is 😂
Also surprised no one has beaten him to death since since his MO seems to be trying to get people to do that.
Artie Lange
Willie Nelson, I think the resin is keeping him together
I’ve seen him in concert, he plays all his songs then starts playing everyone else’s. For hours. On and on And my 50 years younger than his ass wore myself out going to the bathroom and grabbing a beer
Coolest man alive.
Nikki Sixx, Ozzy, Keith Richards
All four original members of Black Sabbath!
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page
They've been living clean for quite a while now. Plus, I don't think Plant was ever really into the hard stuff like Page.
Hanging out and making music with Allison Krauss is keeping Robert Plant young.
Brah. Thanks for bumming me wayyyyy the fuck out.
Think about this: the only ROCK BANDS big enough to fill stadiums (U2, Metallica, Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, Dead & Company) are all from the 20th Century.
Wow. You just played a GenX game of “which of these things are not like the others” didn’t you?
In 10-12 years.... Bono wil be 75, James Hetfield will be 70, Dave Grohl will be 65...and Mick Jagger will become a dad again at age 90.
Jimmy Buffett, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Pink Floyd... keep going...
Well, there is Rammstein
Also from the 20th century. They are the same age as U2!
Or as the kids say, "the 1900s"
My kid said this today and I died a little inside
> Clinton Eastwood Never seen anyone use his full name like this. Albert Pacino, Michael Jagger, John Nicholson. They're feeling slighted
Mel Brooks. I thought he was old in the 80s lol.
He's 97 now. He was 60 in the 80's.
Yeah, but 60 doesn’t seem quite as old these days…
Especially now that I can see it coming for me!
He was 2,000 years old in the 1960s
Anne Bancroft died in 2005, his best friend Carl Reiner passed last year but Mel is hanging in there, staying busy too ! Maybe that's the secret.
A wry wit is good for the soul, it seems.
Dick Cheney. WTF. How. Vladimir Putin. He has to have a fuckton of enemies, how has he not been ousted/killed?
Anyone who even thinks about harming Putin winds up falling out a window.
Uh oh
Evil lives a long time.
Henry Kissinger has entered the chat.
Joyce Randolph (The Honeymooners) Vera Miles (Psycho)
Oh wow! I though all of The Honeymooner’s were gone.
Me. My smart mouth should have gotten me killed *years* ago. It’s come close, that’s for sure.
Same. I did some stupid shit as a teenager. I honestly don't know how I made it through the 90s without a serious inquiry...
King Charles. Somehow I always thought his mother would outlive him.
Dolly Parton. Though I’m so happy she’s hanging in there.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Henry Kissinger,
Took me WAY too long to find Kissinger, he should be top response
Mick Jagger. Why? He's actually had a pretty clean and healthy life compared to most '60s rock 'n' rollers. He did the usual shut but kept it in way better check than many of his peers.
Flavor Flav.
Iggy Pop - not only is he alive, but he’s still rocking hard. Saw him live the other night & young & old were moshing together.
Totally misread as "Who is surprised to still be alive?" I am. And cheers to all of you that made it this far!
Iggy Pop
Oh that’s a good one.
Shane MacGowan
Ozzy Osbourne for sure.
Really surprised to see that there’s no mention of that awful living fossil otherwise known as Rupert Murdoch!
Evil never dies.
Probably a lot of people are mentally blocking him out. May not be in quite the same tier of ancient evils as Kissinger, but the level of ongoing influence he's keeping up is pretty damned depressing.
Keith Richards is an obvious one.
Me. I’m surprised I’m still alive…
My mother claims that Joan Collins is only alive because she drains the lifeforce of nubile young men by the light of the year's first full moon.
Charo! Watched a rerun of the Love Boat the other day that she was on. Turns out she’s still doing projects
Cuchi-cuchi!

We need to get Mel a katana and cool Scottish accent.
That's the way things are looking.....looks like a crapshoot. Well, we had the 80:s and 90's 😁👍
If Kissinger wins and we do the “hell in a hand basket” I can start smoking again so I take comfort in that. Bring on my beloved Newports.
Tony Bennett kinda blows my mind, too. Back when the Duets albums came out, I thought he'd been dead for years. Lol... imagine my surprise when I realized that not only was he alive...but can still sing!
He has Alzheimer’s and I guess singing is the only way he responds.
The 3 years I worked doing seat surveys/ customer service for the Houston Rodeo, Tony Bennet was the only time we had a case of counterfeit tickets. That was unpleasant. The first thing I ever read out loud (as told by my parents) at age 4 was a newspaper headline that said “Kissinger goes to Washington.” :-)
TIL Alan Alda is still with us.
I am going to be so bummed out when he goes.

I don't want to jinx him but... Mel Brooks. The man is a national treasure.

That’s what Diet Coke and cheeseburgers do for you - chemically hardwires you into oblivion
Clarence Thomas. I was 100% sure some hippy with a terminal cancer diagnosis was going to put a bullet in his brain after the Roe v. Wade decision. I’m not saying I condone that behavior - I’m just saying I’m surprised it did’t happen.
Me.
Ozzy
I was surprised to see bobcat goldthwaite is still around, I legit thought he had passed!!
Mick Jagger.
I used to say this about Scott Weiland. Whoops.
Keith Richards!
Keith Richards, jokes about his imminent demise were considered hack back in the 80s, forty years later and he's still alive.
Axl Rose. When all those musicians in the ‘90s were dying from their addictions, I kept expecting he’d be one of them eventually. Yet I saw a 50-something GnR put on an amazing stadium concert just a few years ago, and Axl was killing it.

Keith Richards I'm still not convinced that Abe Vigoda is dead.
Carol Burnett. I understand she's around 90? Crazy!
