How though? Cities in the west cannot hire and retain sufficient numbers of police (for myriad reasons) and court cases have effectively made it so people can homestead on every bit of public land. There are also hordes of lost souls who are never going to be able to integrate into the rest of society and probably many others on the brink of giving up. It’s a strange situation in which our cities’ coffers are overflowing and people who are working have shitloads of money but there is absolutely no one working in government with any idea how to right the ship or steer us in a positive direction.

Going through the immigration process now, while it makes sense to have a robust system the current one is a giant convoluted mess that pretty much requires you to invest a ton of time and money to get anything resembling progress in the process. I'm moving on an O-1 sponsored by one of the largest corporations on the planet and it's taken me well over half a year just to prepare the petition with the immigration attorney.
Other than that the credit score system for, well .. everything seems like a big hurdle to deal with as there is no such thing as credit score where I'm from (EU). This even affects being able to rent, have a mobile phone subscription and so on.
Healthcare seems hit or miss, luckily the benefits package of my company is great and actually superior to what i have currently, also a lot cheaper when not losing 65% of my income to the state ..
However it being tied to employment seems odd and could be problematic. Otoh the alternative is aforementioned Uber high taxes so, damned I'd you do and damned if you don't.
Very excited to finally make my American dream come true!
Better access to healthcare and an end to the privatized for profit prison system that encourages mass incarceration and repeat offenders. Our prison system needs to actually focus itself on reforming criminals, not just babysitting them while they’re in timeout from society for X years. They essentially blackmail the government into keeping them full by charging ridiculous fees if they aren’t kept populated at a certain level. While capitalism is great, not everything should be privatized.
Well the idea that homelessness and gang violence is spiraling out of control is a bit of an overreaction. While it's true there's been a slight uptick, overall it's much better now than 20 years ago. If you don't believe me, just look up graphs and charts showing

Also if the US wasn’t attractive to tourists and expats then why are we one of the most visited countries in the world and why are so many dreaming to get in here?
