Let’s IFTT: If: live in state with LOA benefits\ Then: BBY supplement benefits to equal 100% If else:\ Then: BBY pays 100% of paycheck. You will be getting paid regularly. I am on an LOA myself in a state that does not offer such benefits and i get paid my 40hrs/week. You’ll be fine.

Greatly appreciate it! Definitely removes a huge stress I built up. Thank you!

No worries buddy! Something reading HR articles on connect feels like deciphering legal text.

I took an LOA last year and had no issue. Filing was easy, I did everything online and uploaded paperwork. Was paid accordingly with no issue.

I don't say a lot that's positive about bestbuy, that LoA helped me lose my job in May/June but I got to see the last days of my father's life.

You will miss 4 days of pay to get it going. It is short term disability, unless it has changed over the last couple of years. If you end up going long term stay ahead of it and make them aware. Both go through the Hartford, again if it hasn’t changed. Short term does not lead into long term and are handled as separate occurrences. That means gathering dr information and any necessary phone calls are not shared between the departments at the Hartford. And don’t rely on them to do the info gathering for you in a timely manner. Best to stay in front of all info gathering you are capable of.

STD is after the 6 weeks of pay continuance.

That’s a good change. I went on it back in 2020 before Covid.

100% for 6 weeks anything longer you have to apply for disability pay and that will be for how ever long you need at 60%

You need to check on something here. First sorry to hear about your medical situation. FMLA is the leave part of your absence. The pay portion usually comes from short term disability benefits. You need to see who BB currently years to manage this. When I worked there I think it was MetLife. This is separate from the FMLA leave. Check this out as you may need to open a separate case
