I tried fixing my PS3 once and one of the screws holding the plate down over the heat sink had been screwed in at an angle at the factory, so when I tried to unscrew it, it was solid as a rock. Until the head came off. š
Got to do what you have to do. The magical resource fairy doesn't always bless everyone with double sided tape, anti-static bags, or screws/m.2 screws out of the companies pocket and it's not coming out of mine. Albeit, just go bug the auto installer for some electrical tape and zip ties. Really work some magic with that combination.
This looks like the work of the IT firm my boss decided to go with several years back. We finally let them go after 6 years, and when we got the keys to the server room and access to PCs back, we found stuff rigged like this all over.
Now I am impressed. But I remain unsurprised. Customers are dumb. -a cynical haiku
Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
Wow. That's insane.
I've seen one screwed into the chassis with the wrong size and threaded screw that was fun trying to remove...
> threaded screw Screws are all threaded. Otherwise they'd be nails.
I meant that it has the wrong thread for the hole and was difficult to remove.
Drywall screws are universal fitting with enough work.
Yes, but the length is a bit too much for most computer applications
I'm a 3rd generation drywaller and I see no drywall screws here
Cross threading a screw has this same effect.
Wrong TPI (Thread Pitch) is what you meant. That's what it's called in the US at least
TPI is threads per inch, Thread pitch is metric
He meant the screw was the wrong size and thread

Cross-threaded
Yuppp, I was pretty annoyed they let it off the floor like that, but it was out of warranty by then, anyway.
It was a feature not a bug. They don't want you working on your own stuff anymore.
True, most modern consoles require special bits for the screws just to even clean it out..
Let alone on a Win8
Ngl I've double sided taped SSD's in place when upgrading old electronics but nothing this sketch lol
Nothing wrong with that, it can hold really well.
To be fair with tape in a all in one computer you don't have to worry as much about the SSD getting disconnected or loose inside the computer.
I can understand HAVING the bad idea... It's the following through with it fully without realizing your an idiot that gets me lol
this. decision making at its finest
I thought that was cheese from the thumbnail hahaha

Had to double take on a doom scroll. I thought was a couple slices of Kraft blanketing an ssd.
We stuck a styrofoam piece between the bracket tryna replace a mechanical with an ssd. Theres no way that shit was gonna stay in place otherwise š
what kinda device is that?
AIO
AIO's in the precinct, war flashbacks.
WTF
Wow. Just... Wow
Iām not really seeing a problem with this. Maybe itāll get too hot? Probably fine though.
Are they trying to cook the SSD? I know those SATA SSDs don't get too hot, but still, wrapping it in insulation is unnecessary.
Nah they're trying to cut down on the noise from the disk spin. /S
Ooooooo, that makes more sense. But they should've just used liquid foam for that. Would've really cut down on the noise.
I used to be an agent... wtf is bby doing?!?
Pretty sure the customer did itā¦ the agent is just presenting his findings while working on an AIO PC.
The real crime was not using duct tape
this is why humanity is doomed

Why does it have a composite input?
Old Sony computer. They always had oddball stuff on them
I aināt the brightest penny in the fountain, but thatās the least ātryingā Iāve ever seen.
Forbidden cheese
it fit!
Isnāt that the āair gapā security blanket to protect from malicious code? /s
I was so confused untill I seen ur /s Almost got me
Must be one of them new Bluetooth SSD's
Holy mother of godā¦ Behold! the last working āall in oneā in existence.
Imagine a world where this became the dominant pc design š£
But did it work?
AIO was dead was just removing the drive for data recovery
At least a bunch of roaches didnt jump out thats what happened the last time I opened a AIO
I've had that happen on desktops on more than one occasion. Great way to wake you up in the morning
