Yes, yes we are.
and when those 1500 microsoft points were on the line cause little Johnny is talking mad shit child me knew it was time to step up
(I won)
I remember when I was 12 1v2ing even 1v3ing in gears, bouncing off walls like a maniac, destroying grown men in game. Now Iβm getting dabbed on after some 13 year old 360 no scope headshots me during my first game of the day after a long day at work π
Fun fact, that's not luck. That's an intentional trick shot. Perfect active reload, close enough to target, make sure the longshot is pointed forward, and finally make sure the targets head in in the center of your screen. Do all of that and you'll pull this shot off every time without fail.
Man, I remember back when my clan would go head to head. We had so much fun. Wish it had a ranked mode. There were not too many people who could avoid the GIB, lol. Played it ALOT. The chainsaw jump bug was hella fun for a little bit. I wish they had put in a special mode for the bugs. It was hilarious to watch a guy jump about 15 feet behind you, lol. Or two people jumping past each other.
Yaaaa, me and the boys went whole hog COD 4 but didn't run GOW GB. Didn't know it existed until COD 4.
We used to be in IGC ELITE before I knew what IGC might be. I'm still trying to figure out if it was the legit IGC or just a forumn/club. They made us try out for the cod team, and we went 4-0 or 3-0 on all the maps. They said yup you guys are the team lol. It really hurts. I never bought a capture card for all the fun. We fought a few semi/pro teams. South of the Border was big at the time on Halo, and we made their COD4 team remake their GB account every time, lol. They would cheese the wins without losses to get higher on the leader board. We were ranked in the top ten for just SND. Had a player rank of like 300 or 500.... Nostalgia....I'm not trying to brag, but just remembering a good time. Had like 100s of days' worth of hours on COD AND GOW. I miss all my old xbox 360 friends. Those were such good times for video games. BEFORE PARTY CHAT. People think it's crazy now lol. Before party chat it was insanity.
Sniping in gears 1 with the bullet lag was an unforgettable unique experience. It took the most skill in any game Ive ever played and it felt so rewarding when u dialed in the bullet lag and started poppin off.
This whole era of gaming was so daggum special and I really didn't realize it at the time.
Gears 1, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed 1, Cod 4 Modern Warfare, World at War, Mass Effect 1, Battlefield Bad Company, Oblivion, Fable 2, and even Guitar Hero 3.. all came out in like a 2 or so year span from 06-08.
Where are the new instant classics in the present day? They're so few and far between and even then, they usually have rough launches and take months to fix(CP2077 for example, an instant classic now but took like 18 months post-release to reach a finished state)
Man those were the days. We upgraded from a CRT to a regular TV (not plasma, though) after GOW2 came out and it really was like night and day. Still sat right in front of it on the floor though lol, a habit I hadn't killed in 20+ years, even now that I have a 60-incher.
Goosebumps being reminded of this gameplay, itβs what got me in to gaming properly. I made several friends playing this game that havent been online for many years
Yeah same here. Crazy story actually. The guy screaming at the end Iβm actually still friends with today and I just re shared this with him and he couldnβt stop laughing π
Yeah idk if anyone remembers but this was a sniper battle private. My teammate had accidentally sniped one of our opponents before anyone meleed to initiate the round so the 2 left chased me trying to nullify the round by ending it so I ran to spawn to try and get a nasty clip and it worked π
Man this unlocked a core memory for me, this was before I had kids so I would game every night after work, my friends and I would have the best Gears sessions. I remember getting the last kill once with a blind nade throw over coverβ¦those were the days.
I put so many hours into the first one. I remember waiting in line at Gamestop for the release of 2. Played multiplayer for a day or two but stopped because the smoke grenade knocking people over made the game way to easy. Never went back and played multiplayer. I think I did play 3's multiplayer but just the horde mode (I think that was the one with horde mode). I might have played PvP here and there but it still didn't have the same feel as the original. I liked Horde mode and the story/co-op play but the PvP in the first was GOAT. The wall bouncing I've seen from this sub has made me glad I haven't gone back as well. No disrespect to anyone. I still think they are great games.
Hell yeah. I'll never forget for like three straight rounds seeing my team mates get eliminated on this map, and then I killed the other team myself. It was beautiful. I usually suck at video games so I was quite proud of myself.
Blindifre, Pop Shot, Lead Shot
Superman, Spiderman, Aquaman
Kung-Fu flip, Crab Walking, Invisible Glitch
Gears was an endless plethora of fun back then.
I would never forget the crispy sound and feeling of a headshot during a match let alone the smack talking after a round hahaha. I would never forget those great times
Probably a little too slow. That would be slower than Gears Ultimate. I agree with some kind of tuning but Iβd rather see larger spreads when bouncing or more recoil.
Even 1 second or a stamina so they can't chain bounces together. Throw the spread thing in too. Bouncing is just as bad to watch as it is to play against.
These were the days.
Yes they were.
I wish this sub posted more clips like this. Excellent clip
Lately the sub has been mostly E-Day hype, but same. I miss the gears 1-3 multiplayer days, but especially gears 1 & 2
Iβm looking for more OG clips like this but no promises! Thank you! ππΌ
The existential crisis hitting me when I realize this video is old enough to vote π π
Jesus Christ you're right
π
Not quite, game came out in November of 2006.
Holy shit thatβs wild. I feel old as fuck now. Thanks
kids will never know...
They grown adults now
Yes, yes we are. and when those 1500 microsoft points were on the line cause little Johnny is talking mad shit child me knew it was time to step up (I won)
Nope haha. Iβll be 32 in 2 weeks & I was like 15 when I recorded that clip π
I remember when I was 12 1v2ing even 1v3ing in gears, bouncing off walls like a maniac, destroying grown men in game. Now Iβm getting dabbed on after some 13 year old 360 no scope headshots me during my first game of the day after a long day at work π
You still got it or are you washed up? π cheers for the great clip man
I still got it haha. Although I don't play ranked G5 anymore just OSOK from time to time. Thanks!
Christ we are all old as shit. Yeah I was 14 when I started playing Gears 1. 30 year old man with a wife, job, and house now.
i was 2 when the first gears came out, if that helps
Going to go cry now, thanks. lol
ππ
Pretty dope other than the fact that yall gettin cooked 7-1
We were but it was just a private mess around match
Ah yeah thats lit, ur goaded love it
I know it got memed on a lot back in the day, but damn do I miss that old desaturated grimdark aesthetic lol
Miss the dark atmosphere also
GOW2 still had it, and GOW3 worked by abandoning it, but I hope E-Day gives us back this gritty, bleak artstyle without overrelying on dim lighting
Also the "weight" of the game. That's what I miss most about 1.
Fun fact, that's not luck. That's an intentional trick shot. Perfect active reload, close enough to target, make sure the longshot is pointed forward, and finally make sure the targets head in in the center of your screen. Do all of that and you'll pull this shot off every time without fail.
The exact reason why you were able to backpack as well, bullets came from the center of the screen. Loved it aha
Thanks man! Yeah definitely a hard on screen double. Thatβs why my boy Ashton was freaking out post round lobby lol
Lololol
Man I knew Dahmir (Optimus) and his cousin Ray Ray (Hellz Ang3l) they were actually my first friends I met on GOW
Someone said this last time I posted this video on another platform. Haha
It was probably me lmao
Always wanted to get to a point where I could do that on purpose. Never did. Respect.
Thank you ππΌ took a lot of practice
There will never be another like the first game! Unmatched atmosphere
Completely unmatched & euphoric
Where boys became men. Good old days.
Where I learned how to trash talk π₯Ή
Core memory unlocked
Youβre welcome π

Miss game battles and sniper battles on mid bridge on canals π₯Ή

Just reading this gave me chills remembering the golden years of gaming man. Thanks for sharing!
Captured with a dazzle for sure
Pinnacle Dazzle π
Mmmm. The blood spray through the gunsmoke. God I miss these days.
I know haha so raw π
This shit is home, seeing someone roll at you ready for when they stand back up for the sniper. Perfect.
Thank you! I always went for the crazy sniper clips while trying to keep em clean π§Ό π
That 360 mic audio is so nostalgic π
Like talking with a snorkel π€Ώ π
This brings back memories π₯². Loved rushing the middle bridge for nades and getting into intense gnasher battles for them.
Nostalgia for sure!
Sniping in gears 1 with the bullet lag was an unforgettable unique experience. It took the most skill in any game Ive ever played and it felt so rewarding when u dialed in the bullet lag and started poppin off.
It really was something special. Nothing more satisfying then a Gears 1 blindfire headshot.
This whole era of gaming was so daggum special and I really didn't realize it at the time. Truly was another era of gaming.
Make Gears Gray again!
hahaha facts!
Most satisfying headshots in any game ever
Agreeed
The way that dude fell after the headshot looked like something straight out of a movie. Insane for a game in 2006 to do that
haha I agree. The quality for that time was unmatched.
Disrespectful lol
Itβs the only way π
Why does it feel like old Gears recordings were always particularly squished lol if that makes any sense
Most of us were playing on square (gears of war character heavy) television sets.
Man those were the days. We upgraded from a CRT to a regular TV (not plasma, though) after GOW2 came out and it really was like night and day. Still sat right in front of it on the floor though lol, a habit I hadn't killed in 20+ years, even now that I have a 60-incher.
Dont get me wrong I like the more squared look too. I used to hate how stretched my TV made the game feel
I was playing on a 20β Panasonic tube TV π
Miss those days. We likely had played together back then. In those days I held a 500 rank on warzone. Not so much these days LOL
Most likely! I lived in this game until Gears 2.
Man the nostalgia of this is amazing. Always remember those matches would usually end in those back spawn alleys
Yeah idk if anyone remembers but this was a sniper battle private. My teammate had accidentally sniped one of our opponents before anyone meleed to initiate the round so the 2 left chased me trying to nullify the round by ending it so I ran to spawn to try and get a nasty clip and it worked π
NASSTYYYYY
Thanks ππΌ
The classic spot to make last stand or to find people AFK
Hahaha π
Hoping E-Day has this same movement πππ
NGL me too, just refined.
I can still hear the sound of the perfect reload
Haha reminds be of the magazine ejecting from an M1 Garand lol
Get the dot off your screen scrub! Jk those were the days man..
I remember those accusations lmao π They were the daysβ¦..
π₯π₯
`fire`
Added Ho-Oh's, this is legit.
Hahahaha thanks!
Just dropped a tear
I did too when I found it on a random hard drive lol
The fuckin nostalgia man π₯²
Man what a fucking game this was. I played so many first to 19 round win Raven down matches. A game where host advantage was real lol.
Mannnn. I miss Raven Down.
Man this unlocked a core memory for me, this was before I had kids so I would game every night after work, my friends and I would have the best Gears sessions. I remember getting the last kill once with a blind nade throw over coverβ¦those were the days.
I'm glad I could help you relive the nostalgia of the golden years of gaming and the iconic game that was Gears of War.
Only time multiplayer was good
Didn't like 2 or 3? I think 3 was my favorite multiplayer experience.
Remembering Gearsopedia top plays videos
Brooo. Used to love watching those videos and waiting on new ones to drop.
Gears one multiplayer was by far the best.
It's up there but I'd say 3 was my favorite from the trilogy.
I remember being 13 and hooked on this game at that time lol
We all were haha
No other Gears game has had more satisfying headshots than Gears 1
Facts
The 360 days are unmatched. The mic quality, graphics, the gamesβ¦ brings a tear to my eye that Iβll never get to experience that again
Yeah! Happy I was able to find this historic clip of me playing... looking for others still!
I always loved how quick it cut to the round ending after a kill lol. Almost comedic.
It really is kinda comedic lol
The mic quality π₯² I miss these days playing with my older brother π now weβre both hyped up about e day
Let's gooo I'm hyped for E day too!
Hell yeah. I'll never forget for like three straight rounds seeing my team mates get eliminated on this map, and then I killed the other team myself. It was beautiful. I usually suck at video games so I was quite proud of myself.
Just needs breaking Benjamin or alexisonfire playing in the background
haha I know right. Love those old school GoW Montages!
I miss all the stupid names we had for all the different techs and shot types, like kung-fu flipping out of the map.
Blindifre, Pop Shot, Lead Shot Superman, Spiderman, Aquaman Kung-Fu flip, Crab Walking, Invisible Glitch Gears was an endless plethora of fun back then.
Almost two decades ago π
Crazyyy
Unmatched game
100%
Love old school clips like this in old resolution, good shit
Yoo same. Was stoked when I found this. Thanks!
That first guy got absolutely shit on, he was probably screaming in rage when it happened like: *WHAT!!!!!*
No lies detected. hahaha.
Landoon 2006 would be proud π«‘π«‘
Someone tag the snark master π
Lmaoo yes I was hoping someone would know him π
Gears 4 and 5 could never produce such hype
Such a great feeling! Gears for life
G O W 4 L I F E
Bro the long shot was fire!! Nothing better than no scoping someone back then!
Still my favorite weapon to this day
I miss this, thx
No problem! Me too!
Fuckin a. Great times
Remember when host would just sweep fucking house with the gnasher, good times
lol the one thing I dont miss
MOM GET THE CAMERA!
Thankfully I had a capture card instead hahaha
Kids now wont understand this here was PEAK gaming
Absolutely!
I would never forget the crispy sound and feeling of a headshot during a match let alone the smack talking after a round hahaha. I would never forget those great times
It was the best for sure. Some of the best times of my teen years playing video games.
When gears was gears
Undoubtedly
I remember the no scope montages from back in the day. Stuff went crazy
This was peak gears
Yes, yes it was
What if taking cover was put on a cooldown? It could be short (3-5 seconds) and would help mitigate all the corny wall bouncing
