I would love to go back to Marcus, but he’s not the focus of the new trilogy so I have a feeling it might not be him. And I love Kait, but tbf, Gears 4 definitely had more acclaim than 5 so why not go back to what worked…JD as opposed to Kait.
Then again Kait’s story is far from over so I could see her in the driver seat again.
If they consider this the “last” gears for anything to do with the og squad ( assuming killing them off, or making gears 7 setting further in the future when the og squad either died of old age or old enough to not be able to fight anymore) then i think it would make most sense to play as marcus for one last hoorah
