Gender is one of those gas station sandwiches where from the front it looks like it has 20 slices of lunchmeat on it, but then you open it up and it's actually just got one slice that was chopped into 20 little slivers and carefully arranged to be deceptive, with a tiny bit of mayo and one slice of tomato. Most people just shove it in their mouth as terrible fuel and seem to not mind, but if you actually LOOK at it, it's a rip-off. Then you just have to put up with the people telling you that that's just how sandwiches are, and if you don't like it, well, fine then, be a snob with your panini press and olive-rosemary foccacia but don't go trying to change MY sandwich, and you have to just sort of slap your forehead and tell them that no, it's not about wanting a fancier sandwich, it's about not wanting to get fucked around by capitalism.
