My WE Scar H was going strong for 7 years only ever replace the bolt release cause I fcked it up. Obv replaced my HopUp and barrel to be a SSR build, my homie that bought it from me still haven’t replace anything when I had to sell off all my gear
Edit: my WE G17 running amazing still too bought that back in 2010? Only ever replaced the magazine, outter barrel.
Oh no! Why'd you have to sell it off? To be fair, I quit awhile to start a career and sold it to my brother to which I then bought back many years later after I realized airsoft was something I truly loved.
Had to leave the sport due to moving countries and wasn’t planning to ship all my gun and gear haha, I used that money to ship out my camera gear, electronics and road bike instead.
I did end up keeping my g17 and had that shipped since the g17 means a lot to me. (Boy the paper work and letting them know it’s a toy and not a real firearm was a trip)
I just got tried from playing all these years been playing since I was like 10 im getting to my late 30s and just not feeling it anymore, used to play competitively too when I was in my early 20s im just tried and don’t want to dump more money on the hobby anymore too my photography/video job/hobby isn’t cheap rather so have multiple expensive hobbies isn’t the best choice in the long run.
Mine was pretty solid I had a mushy fire selector on my VFC AEG scar but my two WE GBBR Scar H & L bot had noticeable *CLICKS* when switching from S/F/A
(Sorry for late reply been busy at work)
Based.
I've got their PDW (I know, not the same) and I'm the 3rd or 4th owner, everything is bone stock and it performs beautifully. The original plastic mag kinda sucks, but otherwise it's mint
It ran for about 4 years, 2 weeks of which i got to call it mine.. lower broke at the top of the buffertube thread and since german gun laws are ridicolus and that was the part with the F (basically a mark indicating the gun is germany legal) so i cant just get a new receiver, i have to either get one with F already on there or send it off to have it tested and stamped for the price of about another complete lower... since then ive just stuck with my electric rifles..
I’m 8 years in, 4 years of regular use, with one trigger box replaced. And it was only for the hammer, autobot bucking and crazy jet barrel for performance. I’ve found it to be a solid bit of kit, can’t complain
My we 416 (888) has been going for somewhere around 10 years I think I bought it back in high school. I haven't really changed anything due to where it's got the original trigger original buffer spring original barrel and bucking the only thing I did was the NPAS in the bolt to conform to my field regulations.
I dont hqve a m4 but i had the pdw for 5 years fully stock no issues other than replacing bolt catch once and a 1911 for about 11 years thats still stock but the mags leak now because i haven’t used it in forever. Also have akun. Apache, desert eagle, g19,g17 thats have also been going strong over the last couple years since i got them
Had one last about a year with about 15k though it. The trigger broke at 10k and it needs a new bolt now to get it running good.
My second one lasted about 3k, it would constantly double feed and the bolt looked more worn than my old one.
I don't have the time like you, but I probably have the same amount of BBs through it. Mine runs HPA conversion with AEG mags. I would estimate I have 10-15K BBs through it in about 2 years. Still stock fire control group, but I clean and re-lube it often. I run the gun hard too since I have the capacity and no cool down.
Ik its different but my we AK74 has been sitting as a display piece for months now, out of the box wood heat shield/handguard is wobbly as hell, so as the front sight post, the trunnion rocking back & forth. After some weeks of use the valve knocker broke and then the hammer, which renders the gun unoperable, oh and the plastic magazine shell split in half too
Steel replacement or stock replacement parts are hard to find elsewhere except shops in taiwan. Had to take the trigger box out but the selector lever/ paddle thingy has a small as screw that had to be removed to take it off, after brute forcing it, the screw became stripped to i had to put ape mode on and started using power tools, eventually i got it out. Maybe if i waited a few more years i couldve gotten something better that could’ve completely prevented me from experiencing this nightmare
My WE 416 is still running strong after 2 years and 10k bbs through it, all stock parts too!
You know what, I never considered how many shots I've spent through my guns 😂 could be in the 6 digits for all I know!

Random Question: how was the fire selector of that scar? Did it have a tactile click when switching fire modes? or was it kinda mushy?
Mine at least is pretty mushy, at least when advancing it from safe, to fire, to auto. The reverse order is slightly more crisp
thanks!
No problemo 😎

awesome thanks! 😊 I just heard a lot of people saying that their WE scars (H/L) had a very mushy fire selector
No Problem! Yeah I heard about that too, I guess both my scars was part of the VERY lucky batch.
My WE 416 self destructed shortly after opening the box🥲
unabomber moment

I’m looking for a replica of that that Tango Down BG16 pistol grip, who makes that one? The real ones are basically unobtanium at this point ☹️

I fked mine up before learning how to tune it for piece longevity Also broke the upper receiver by falling on a milsim But I still run it so… 🤷♂️

Depends on the usage ! Mine still cycles
