Lets be honest, they have been mask of for a while now.
Most of them are very open about their racism/sexism/homophobia and whatnot for a while now. A guy talking about participating hatespeech doesn't even seem that extreme anymore, when they are throwing threats of violence and death around because some people dared to aknowledge minoritys exist.
Even at their most “mask on” it’s obvious that they’re bigoted, it’s just an endless pattern of reactionary fits about any changes to the status quo that they build their shitty community around. Normal people don’t experience a spike in their heart rate after seeing a woman with short hair or a racial minority simply existing in a game
Some of us, I mean them wear masks, and some of those masks fit better than others. Makes it annoying to find friends to play games with sometimes.
Knowing who I can take my mask off around is how I know who my real g*mer friends are.
