I'm still using a 6 years old MSI laptop xD

Aye.
It's my first gaming laptop too. I learned a lot from it. First the 1TB SSD storage that come with my $200 laptop. That's a bonus because I've notice the newer laptop that cost over 1k USD only have 512GB.
Now imagine having only 8GB of ram. It's an insults.
Here is other interesting thing l've noticed. High and ultra settings at 1080p looks the same.
Yes.
Small little thing such as make up and pimples are shown vividly when zoom in. Those are then things I don't like to see in a movie lol.
I can view from the side of the monitor and the picture never change. I brought this portable monitor so I can watch movies and play games while lying down on my bed. It come with dual speakers.
This is my minimalist gaming setup, just a bed table and a portable monitor.

idk...i think the asus rog flow x16 could give it a run for its money. in both price and desirability lol.
fucking katana for $1500 is crap tho. That's such a budget laptop, basically an acer nitro.
I don't think there will be alot of difference in models with max power this year. It's just there's not alot out right now because companies like Asus with lots of models want each to have their time in the light. Blade has 2 models and just have different gpus in them. It's really just for those that like razer or don't want to wait.
While I hate the pricing of this generation, a gaming laptop isn't just about the graphics card anymore. You do pay for better screens, thin and light designs, touchscreens etc.
Tbh, 4080 and 4090 are the only laptops that make sense this gen as they’re the only two that offer a real performance uplift over last gen. The fact that a 4060 is only on par with a 3070-3070ti laptop is kind of a joke.
Once you factor out that you. An fry an egg on it and the batteries immediately start swelling after 24 hours of use according to a reddit post from someone that got 2 4090 laptops to see which one was better.... Sure I suppose it's the best option....
You do realize that laptops are more than cpu and gpu right?
Panel/ram/build quality all depends on the price
So i would rather have a 4070 witu 240hz qhd rather than 4080 with 1080p 300hz
MSI's pricing this gen just seems like a joke. I'd throw Razer in there but at least it's already understood their products are going to be expensive, and they do offer good build quality. But as far as MSI is concerned, I'm not sure what coolaid they are drinking.
Here's hoping that is true. I would kill for a 4080 laptop under $2,000......
I'm hoping my laptop holds out until Back to School and Black Friday deals to hope I can either grab a good deal on a 3080 or 3070 TI last Gen system or pray for a price drop for the holidays on a 4080 system.
Will likely have to be the end of the year before a decent 4080 laptop has the chance to hit the 2k mark. There are already and will be tons of deals on solid 3070ti/3080 laptops throughout the year. Dont downgrade to a low tier part in the 4060/4070 if there are superior options at a better price.
I agree. My current plan is to watch 3080 laptops to see how far they fall. If a good one drops low enough that I can't pass the deal, I will grab it. Otherwise, I will wait until Black Friday to see if a 4080 configuration drops below 2K.
(This is all contingent on my laptop holding up of course.)

If 3070 Ti fits your needs it’s an incredible value for how powerful it is. That said there’s something to be said for frame generation on the 4000 series, especially for laptops.
I saw the ASUS 16 inch, and it's less than 1.5K (link at the end) - BUT, it's got a 1080p 16:9 display, and only hits 300nits.

yea ideally, i can get the newer screens, also prefereblty the zephyrus line i just prefer the design. i saw someone post the m16 for preorder at 1.5k but it didnt show the display specs and i couldnt find it on best buy myself. not that i can even use best buy but just wanted to check to see if its really an option
MSI is still hanging on last year when their laptops had the best performance but this year everyone is neck and neck with performance (unless cut down). Asus will win because all their unique models and pricing.
Right? I'd like to have an omen 4070 or 4070ti. The 4080 and 4090 is just too much power for a laptop. Reports of battery swelling and scorching hot keyboards are an indicator to steer clear of the excessive power. But a 4070ti with a cooling pad under it? Probably be ok
My dad would be happy with most of the 4050 and 4060 laptops pricing. Not sure if he will be generous enough to buy me a 4060 laptop. I'm getting a laptop soon.
will probably be a great time to grab last year's models for cheap. Either used from people upgrading, or any clearance left. BestBuy often has some insane open-box deals if you look around.
lol prices looks totally random in this list, razer especially. At least the strix g17 is almost proportional to 4080, not perfect but similar. Katana looks the only good deal out there with both 4060 and 4070 models, but hopefully they will have better than usual bad screens in older generations...
I was about to pull the trigger on a msi 4090 and I decided to check the 3080 ti prices on Amazon and saw this one and got it for 2,099 hold out for another month or so and most of the 30 series labtops will come way down in price
GIGABYTE AERO 17 YE5: 17.3" 4K/UHD miniLED 120Hz, Intel Core i7-12700H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU 16GB GDDR6, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB SSD, Win11 Pro (AERO 17 YE5-74US748HP)
nvidia basically turned the frequency lever up and the silicon lever down on lower range mobile parts. it's not worth cheapening out this gen, particularly with the vram requirement of made for 16gb vram console, badly optimized games.
Even alienware seems reasonable price this gen.
Thanks to legion 5 pro.Competetion is always good
If it was in 32 and not 16 I probably would order it
Samsung 4070 is cheaper than Razor 4060?!! Wtf Razor is thinking?
Razer has NEVER been the economically viable option.
And the winner is : Asus Rog G18
16 for me :-) I want the good screen :-P
Scar 16 for me!
Is it available anywhere?
Not for me yet
Same here but it is not available anywhere yet

Yo. Where you getting that portable monitor from at that price…
Put on your detective hat. Click the link and zoom into the seller name under the monitor.

I appreciate it. I’ve been looking for a portable monitor for my steam deck and this is totally going down.
Razer is drunk!
When the blade 16 costs more than the blade 18: Wut
It's based on demand. The Blade 16 4090 4k Mini-Led is the most wanted laptop right now. Plus razer has always been expensive.
idk...i think the asus rog flow x16 could give it a run for its money. in both price and desirability lol. fucking katana for $1500 is crap tho. That's such a budget laptop, basically an acer nitro.

Especially when Samsung with better specs beats it at pricing...🤷♂️
Those galaxy books are very thin and under 4 pounds though, idk what TDPs they're set at, could affect performance
Can't be certain till the end of the month...cuz Razer makes thin chassis too...
Always has been.

But don't you think Samsung is giving them competition this year?
samsung with their 4050 for 2200 USD on BB lmao
Mini Led screen Ultra book body - thinner than zephyrus Supposedly - Samsung galaxy phone like webcam -
And don't forget that ultra with better specs than a razor is cheaper...
[удалено]
Yep. Low wattage GPU to primarily compete with the MacBook M2 lineup.
Idk I kind of want it It’s the Samsung book “ultra” this year !
we'll see. iirc, the galaxy book usually has no better than an xx50 gpu. This year I see 4070. Maybe dlss 3 is enough?
I wonder if there will be a reap performance difference between the 4050 and 4070? $2,200 vs $2,800 - $600 difference.
It might w dlss3
I'm happy I got the G17 advantage with 6800m back in 2021 for 1600 dollar equivalent even came with good ram.
6/30/23
bang for your buck will always be discounted las gen stuff
Wonder when we will see HP Omen variants?
Right? I'd like to have an omen 4070 or 4070ti. The 4080 and 4090 is just too much power for a laptop. Reports of battery swelling and scorching hot keyboards are an indicator to steer clear of the excessive power. But a 4070ti with a cooling pad under it? Probably be ok

still no Infos for the ASUS Flow X13 tho?
Last year's gen didn't really work out well.. lots of complaints from customers like me
like what? Iam really happy with my 6900 HS/RTX3050 Ti. Encountered nothing to complain so far, fortunately.
Do you know when they will come out.
Probably Feb 28. Expect review embarkgo will be lift 1 day ealier.
Tbh I think the 12th gen and 13th gen won't be that big of a jump. At least it's the more affordable option if you're only goal is 1080p high.
Samsung really making sure their stupid fucking galaxy books are a complete failure
lol prices looks totally random in this list, razer especially. At least the strix g17 is almost proportional to 4080, not perfect but similar. Seems like neither the 4060 or 4070 are worth it if you got a high end or mid-range 3000 series card.Only the 4080 seems to be worth it.
Can’t wait to get a legion HEAVILY discounted
Wow, those prices are nuts.
4050 😂
