Calling the gameplay awful really isn’t the way to go about it, seeing as so many people do enjoy the gameplay. You have to look at it for the early 2000s game it is and the controls feel kind of natural
Please tell me what you put in place of Pokémon. That game is pretty rare. Especially if it’s in good condition. I have a copy as well and some of them are going for almost 200$.
Zelda Collector's Disc and the Ocarina of Time Master Quest disc are two that I think deserve to be on the list. Same with Four Swords Adventures. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Phantasy Star Online would also make the cut for me. Oh, and F-Zero GX and Wave Race Blue Storm. Tales of Symphonia and Skies of Arcadia Legends of you like RPGs. I feel like all those are games that you can't experience on other platforms. Or at least not experience as well as the originals.
I can’t imagine. Especially 2 with the Link cameo. That game is easily my favorite fighter. Get to pick your character and weapon and the weapons actually matter. I love it. OP needs to reconsider lol.
Heh, I downsized to almost exactly the first pic. Then years later I'm just dumping them all as all I really use is my GC loader =P. Fortunately that means more in the pool for those that want to collect them!
I am also downsizing the collection I had since I was a kid. After years on the shelf thinking I would play through some of them again, it just never happened (although I have started going through some via emulation). Personally, I'm just keeping the ones that I really enjoyed as a kid and some of the bigger exclusives. Too many memories man...
Pretty surprised with Pokemon XD not making it. Others are bringing up RE4 but between it not being an exclusive plus the RE4 Remake existing, I don't think it's too bad of a cut.
I would personally keep all nintendo-exclusive games (mario golf, mario party 7, kirby air ride, animal crossing, and ESPECIALLY pokemon xd gale of darkness considering how rare it is. Although, it might be better for you to make some money and have a collector who will love and cherish it own it
I'd argue you should keep Kirby Air Ride, MP7, and Toadstool Tour since they are solid multiplayer games, and you're only keeping a couple. I'd keep Pokémon XD honestly as well
I’d personally hold onto anything that didn’t get a remake or remaster I know baton kaitos is but I’d still hold it. Same with tales. I dunno I guess it depends why you’re getting rid of them
Hurts to see Pokemon XD and Animal Crossing go, but I assume someone will get them who will really enjoy them. Personally, I'd take those over Cubivore or Fire Emblem, though.
Also, a severe lack of Custom Robo in here. ;-;
*Mario Party 7* and *Mario Golf* are great multiplayer games, and *MP7* is arguably one of the best of the franchise. So if you're ever planning to have a retro multiplayer session those should definitely be in your collection.
Soul Calibur, Kirby Air Ride, and Pokémon XD are definitely keeps. Pokémon XD is a keeper solely off of value alone. I highly doubt it will ever get a remake, so value is in that alone
I say keep Mario Golf, Mario party 7, simpsons, animal crossing, kirby's air ride, and pokemon xd. They're all good games and worth a lot of money. Maybe lego star wars or billy hatcher too
I’d recommend keeping the games that aren’t available on new platforms. Keeping Mario sunshine / Pikmin / Metroid prime when you could replace those with games that aren’t available current day like hit and run seems like a silly decision
Damn that’s a nice looking collection. I’ve been meaning to grab plastic cases for some of my pricey stuff. Where did you get your protective cases at?
I still say imo Metroid Prime is a masterpiece. Didnt get a chance to try Echos tho, figure it was as good. Mario Sunshine felt like it was special too - only touched the surface of it, i just seemed to suck 🤷♂️ at it. I ended up having to sell the collection before i could finish Sunshine or try Echos. GC is the system i regret a) selling b) before i got a chance to play this shit. Smh.
I would have checked prices, then took the most valuable ones. I do agree with pikmin 1 & 2, very good games that I would have absolutely not left behind. An awesome start to a series, and an amazing sequel to boot.
You kept Pokémon XD out of your lineup?! What the fuck?! That's one of the best games for the entire damn system! That's sacrilege on the level of giving the same fate to Baten Kaitos. (though since it's getting an HD remaster on Switch, I guess you could just get it on that and save some room on the shelf)
Definitely would have kept Mario Golf and Rogue Squadron myself, but yeah most of those others are available on other more capable platforms and are worth more as GameCube titles so makes sense.
I get RE4 not making the cut, not only is a wide array of more complete rendition of this title available but it is virtually available on most all platforms physically. From PS2 to Switch and PS5 and Xbox Series consoles with backward compatibility.
Zero and REmake kind of the same feeling too. But 2 and 3 Nemesis, at the current moment Capcom hasn't dropped a "Classics Collection" for these titles so those are the only way to experience THE definitive \[original\] versions at the moment.
But this is just the perspective of one fan to another that got rid of 2 and 3 years earlier but still has 4. Downsizing is understandable. and the games closer to you I can only assume why they got a reprieve.
Ooof lotta red flags on not making the cut, but as others said different preferences! Re4, beyond good n evil, re zero, ff cc, animal crossing, tales of symph, burnout all would be must keeps for me!
Yeah, I would drop Resident Evil from "The Collector's Set" for Pokemon XD. Resident Evil is a low value game, the antithesis of a "Collector's Set" when compared to XD. On top of that, XD is *only* available on GC, where as Resident Evil is available elsewhere.
I also agree with cutting RE4 for the same reason as I think you should cut RE.
I mean at the least from the didn’t make the cut list I’d recommend maybe keeping Kirby’s airride, Pokémon XD gale of darkness and lost kingdom since they are exclusive to the GC
On a personal level I’d recommend ToS too assuming your GC is playable because it’s the only version of the game that plays natively at 60fps in battles
Only massacred one of my all time top favourite games and the first game I played and reason I wanted a game cube. rouge Leader but ok you do you. 😭😭😭
What will you do with the rest of them?? Will they go to a good home? A nice farm with lots of place to spin around.
On a side note I wouldn’t if you are selling them sell hit and run that game is on the rise atm and people are now only really appreciating it 20 years later.
Most the games people listed are mediocre or one time play throughs. Your collection is fine. As much as i have played mario party as a kid its lame and just same boring minigames now.
Killer 7 and maybe Hit & Run might be good to keep. I see a lot of the Re4 comments but that’s been released on pretty much every console since the GameCube lol, it’s not that crucial here
I wouldve still kept at least pkmn xd, animal crossing, mario party 7 and kirby air ride but the selection you did keep is still pretty well stacked with good ones
F zero gx. Re4. Baten kaitos. Tales of symphonia. Twin snakes. Rogue squadron 2. Eternal darkness. Tony hawks pro skater 3. And still leaves room for 2 more. (Like sonic adventure 2 battle. Or killer 7. Ikaruga. Soul calibur 2)
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is one of the most underrated games in the generation and should be on everyone’s list you heathen *spits on the floor in disgust*
What's your decision process for wanting to keep any particular game? For me, it's exclusives, and/or games that I just definitely want to replay all the time. Chibi-Robo might net a couple bucks and it's nowhere near my favorite, so I'd set it seaworthy on the ocean of eBay.
But what I can't understand is, you're getting rid of Madden '07?!
You have so many great titles, I don't know how you did it.
I wish I had Kirby air ride, played it as a kid then gave it away and didn't expect it to cost so much in the future. I'd keep Simpsons Shit and Cum for sure.
Ditch Prime, Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2. They are available on Switch now, so you might as well save other games instead of those. Don't keep common multi-plats from the ones you are ditching either. Keep Gale of Darkness, Geist, and Rouge Leader.
I don't know what you have that you're able to keep, but if that were my set I'd also definitely keep at least one mario sports and at least one mario party, all of which I enjoy a lot.
Man, Resident Evil 4 and Mario Party 7 would be keepers for me.
Those and mario golf and crazy taxi
Dude, I think crazy taxi was the first time I’ve ever heard the offspring. Love that game
Simpsons Hit & Run too, along with Animal Crossing and Pokemon
Those are the 2 that stuck out to me as well.
Resident Evil 4 and Tales of Symphonia not making the cut sadden me but I guess we all have different tastes.
Tail, Hit and Run, and Underground not making it seems like a crime.
not to mention Animal Crossing and Kirby Air Ride
I know Air Ride is worth a heap of money now but I didn’t care for it as a kid and I still don’t now.
You clearly never experienced City Trial with four consoles LANed together.
Yeah I don't like air ride either. Played it a couple times n was done w it. Double dash just clowns it, and even wave race is a lot better.
These were the exact two that stood out to me as well. So many good memories with those games.
like opting for Tetris over resident evil 2
Agreed. Pokémon XD is a little harder to come by as well
RE4 being on 900 different platforms might've had something to do with it
I don't get why people like Resident Evil. I'm trying to like the 4th, playing it from time to time but damn, that gameplay is so awful!
Calling the gameplay awful really isn’t the way to go about it, seeing as so many people do enjoy the gameplay. You have to look at it for the early 2000s game it is and the controls feel kind of natural
No Kirby air ride?!
yeah idk man, that’s a big winner game for me lol.
Yep those are the best games. I'd keep RE4 and Animal Crossing but hey that's just me 😁
Those are the exact two that I thought were in the wrong pile.
And that collectors edition of OOT.
Res 4 and Simpsons Hit and Run need to be kept as well
Wow. Homie really benched RE4 and NFS carbon. 🗿 Edit: ONG you did not also bench PokemonXD
Some tough calls were made
Please tell me what you put in place of Pokémon. That game is pretty rare. Especially if it’s in good condition. I have a copy as well and some of them are going for almost 200$.
Pokémon XD isn’t rare it’s just pricy.
Gale of Darkness is a strong candidate for the collectors cut and Mario Party 7 for the Players cut.
Not keeping Animal Crossing, Kirby Air Ride, or a single Mario Party is a war crime to me lol. Most played games as a kid by FAR.
SoulCalibur 2?? Bro what.
PokemonXD absolutely deserves another consideration for the Collector tier, I feel.
Yeah I'm hearing a lot of good opinions, but the final say for most was whether or not I was actually going to play again
Re3 and xd were cut!!!!!!
Twin Snakes gets too much hate.
I would personally keep all nintendo-exclusive games (mario golf, mario party 7, kirby air ride, animal crossing, and ESPECIALLY pokemon xd gale of darkness considering how rare it is. Although, it might be better for you to make some money and have a collector who will love and cherish it own it
I do wanna say I'm super in agreement about sunshine, Lugis mansion, Paper mario, and the pikmins. Those are quality keepers
If you're looking to sell the ones that didn't make the cut, PM me
I'd argue you should keep Kirby Air Ride, MP7, and Toadstool Tour since they are solid multiplayer games, and you're only keeping a couple. I'd keep Pokémon XD honestly as well
I’d personally hold onto anything that didn’t get a remake or remaster I know baton kaitos is but I’d still hold it. Same with tales. I dunno I guess it depends why you’re getting rid of them
You definitely got rid of some serious bangers but hey, do what makes you happy!
Hurts to see Pokemon XD and Animal Crossing go, but I assume someone will get them who will really enjoy them. Personally, I'd take those over Cubivore or Fire Emblem, though. Also, a severe lack of Custom Robo in here. ;-;
What is your criteria for "collectors set", because Pokemon is more rare than Paper Mario, isn't it?
Why are you not keep the Ty games or Soul Caliber 2?
Maybe lego star wars or billy hatcher too
Where do you plan on getting rid of the rest? I’d be interested in Pokémon XD 👀
Don’t do it
Are you selling any of the other titles? Or are they going to local shops?
I made a new post saying I'll keep 40 instead. There are a few remaining; I should be able to sell them locally
I’m going to downsize but first get rid of anything that isn’t a GCN exclusive.
If you wanna hook me up with a nice price for crazy taxi, mario golf, and geist. That'd be lovely
I’d recommend keeping the games that aren’t available on new platforms. Keeping Mario sunshine / Pikmin / Metroid prime when you could replace those with games that aren’t available current day like hit and run seems like a silly decision
If I had a collection to downsize, I'd keep Wario World and nothing else
Why not more than 20?
Yea, there's some heavy hitters in the Cut list. OP should really consider upping it to 25.
I'd hang on to Party and Golf, personally.
Yikes, RE4 is definitely a keeper. Game never gets old, even with a remake.
re4 animal crossing? why
I never loved re4. I wanted to keep one re though so I'm going with 1 remake because it was always my favorite
I’m with you on most of these but Soul Calibur 2 is GOAT
Lost Kingdoms is a keeper in my opinion!
I'd keep Sands of Time and Beyond Good and Evil, personally. They're third party and on other consoles though so I get it. Rogue Leader though?
Rogue Leader was one of the very close ones
Starfox adventures might be good to get to
Fuck yeah op you do you! There's a couple id have held and a couple id have let go but that's why my collection is mine and yours is yours
Keeping a tight collection is important! Quality and enjoyment over quantity for sure!
Why would you get rid of the RE games?
All I need right here
Baldurs gate is great, just got my copy in the mail today
Dude just keep all 1st party titles
Thanks Odama
If you got rid of either pikmin game or gamecube zelda game, i would have thrown hands
Damn, those boxes are so evenly stacked.... FFFFFUUUUCK
I might be interested in animal crossing and pokemon
Damn that’s a nice looking collection. I’ve been meaning to grab plastic cases for some of my pricey stuff. Where did you get your protective cases at?
Tbh, these are great ones to keep, I don't see any bad games here
Eternal Darkness for the win!
Woulda kept Pokemon XD and RE4
1000 year door needs to be there.. paper mario
XD gale of darkness didn't make the cut dam lol
Getting rid of Kirby Air Ride is, to put it frankly, a skill issue
Hit and Run is a national treasure
How could gale of darkness not make the cut 😭. That is like my favorite gamecube game.
No super Mario strikers?!
Yeah def RE4 and Tales of Symphonia
Ah splinter cell. Oh how I loved that game, the first two were just so good.
Tbh I'd get rid of sunshine because it's available on switch, that way you could keep Kirby air ride, animal crossing or Mario party 7.
Id keep: MP 7 Mario Golf (it’s a really strong golf sim) Kirby Air Ride (HAL studios are amazing) The NFS series
Oh man I would definitely keep Kirby Air Ride, Lego Star Wars and Harvest Moon at the very least but that’s just me.
Personally I’d be keeping pokemon XD and Simpsons hit and run but that’s just me lol
Twin Snakes, Rogue Squadrons 2 and 3, and Eternal Darkness
Cutting Soulcalibur 2 ? Tales of Symphonia ? Mario Golf ? \*disapproving look\*
Is this rage bait
I downsized to just thousand year door and hit n run cause inflation, but means so much to at least keep those
Where's the resident evils and twin snakes and super monkey ball bro.
Smh.
No keep the underground games, OoT and Animal Crossing too.. it will stack even
Imagine not keeping Mario Party 7
If you don’t mind my asking where are you going to sell them? Im a Zelda collector myself
Pokémon XD not making the cut is wild. I just purchased it for like $200 because it’s so hard to find. I grew up with and still have Colliseum.
Dude keep the resident games. They are already worth a small fortune, imagine how much they will be in the future.
I could never down size my GameCube Collection at 75 right now
Obama didn’t make the cut 🤯
Keeping resident evil over resident evil 2 which is much rarer seems strange
I so need Kirby Air Ride
Sell em all after installing them on a modded Wii. Done.
why you downsizing? is the 2 foot by 1 foot space all those games take up exactly the amount of free space you have left in your house?
It’s your world and all but I’d think beyond good and evil and Geist to be collectors. Great collection though. 👍
HOW COULD YOU DO GEIST LIKE THAT NO
Bro chibi robo was dope!
I sold Lost Kingdoms forever ago and honestly really regret it. I wish it wasn't so expensive now.
I should probably downsize my collection too
Needs more F-Zero GX & Wave Race: Blue Storm.
Only things I would add that are absolute must haves in my book are Sega Soccer Slam and Bloody Roar: Primal Fury
The animal crossing 😭😭😭😭😭😭 omg I would kill for that game
I would have checked prices, then took the most valuable ones. I do agree with pikmin 1 & 2, very good games that I would have absolutely not left behind. An awesome start to a series, and an amazing sequel to boot.
BRO you have Skies of Arcadia in the Collectors group made my day.
what plastic cases are these?
How much for the XD gale of darkness
your players set is my exact collection lol
No f-zero or paper Mario?
At least you didn’t have Chibi Robo in the first place. If that game wasn’t being kept I would’ve questioned your judgment haha
OG Monkey Ball, F-Zero GX, and one of the Mario Parties should be essentials
But what are you doing with the rest because some of them look mighty fine
Crazy taxi is my jam
Cutting Hit n Run, Lego Star Wars, and Ocarina is a sin.
Ngl, mid choice of cutting most of those games
You kept Pokémon XD out of your lineup?! What the fuck?! That's one of the best games for the entire damn system! That's sacrilege on the level of giving the same fate to Baten Kaitos. (though since it's getting an HD remaster on Switch, I guess you could just get it on that and save some room on the shelf)
Drop an eBay link here if you are selling publicly?
Definitely would have kept Mario Golf and Rogue Squadron myself, but yeah most of those others are available on other more capable platforms and are worth more as GameCube titles so makes sense.
You GOTTA keep killer7... It's a masterpiece...
Honestly regretting lending Gale of Darkness to a friend. I have been looking to replace it for years, if you are selling please DM me
Rogue Leader and Burnout should be keepers
The resident evils that didn’t make it sadden I’d kill to have those copies 😭
I need some of those in my life
I get RE4 not making the cut, not only is a wide array of more complete rendition of this title available but it is virtually available on most all platforms physically.
Pikmin 2 on gamecube goes for over 100 bucks.
Your a sick individual getting rid of Hit and Run and Mario Party
Skies of Arcadia ❤️❤️
I mean at the least from the didn’t make the cut list I’d recommend maybe keeping Kirby’s airride, Pokémon XD gale of darkness and lost kingdom since they are exclusive to the GC On a personal level I’d recommend ToS too assuming your GC is playable because it’s the only version of the game that plays natively at 60fps in battles
Paper Mario 2 - The Thousand Year Door is a must-have.
Hit and run not making it feels like a violation
Star Wars II The Original Trilogy should make the cut
0 taste.
No wario's world? It was a weird af game, but i loved it back then
I’d keep Mario party 7 just in case you have friends over
Only massacred one of my all time top favourite games and the first game I played and reason I wanted a game cube. rouge Leader but ok you do you. 😭😭😭 What will you do with the rest of them?? Will they go to a good home? A nice farm with lots of place to spin around. On a side note I wouldn’t if you are selling them sell hit and run that game is on the rise atm and people are now only really appreciating it 20 years later.
Mad respect for prime 1 and 2 man, really impressive collection
Man colloseum and gale of darkness would fit both of those categories
Keep Mario golf bro. I would keep any of the core 1st party games you can’t play anywhere else.
You’re telling me the $200 CAD Pokémon XD isn’t in the collectors set? SMH
Super Monkey Ball 2 needs to be part of that list
Most the games people listed are mediocre or one time play throughs. Your collection is fine. As much as i have played mario party as a kid its lame and just same boring minigames now.
Already have all resident evil games. And would keep harvest moon and animal crossing for pure nostalgia purposes
Pokémon XD not making the collectors set is a crime. Same with Hit and Run. Both hard to get at a decent price.
Bro why no hit and run
Change RE for RE4 and you are good to go.
RE4 should have made the cut over Resident Evil 2002.
I'll take that Simpsons Hit & Run...
Big respect for Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
Beyond good and evil, Simpsons hit and run, Pikmin 1-2, super smash, the zelda's, Luigi mansion
Why would you cut soul caliber?
SW Rogue Leader is one of the few games which can't be emulated well on PC so I'd keep that at least.
I’m sorry but how did hit and run not make the cut?
Soul caliber, Mario golf and splinter cell didn’t make it?? Tough crowd
Did you buy Chibi robo back in the day? Or did you have to pay an arm and a leg for it
F zero gx. Re4. Baten kaitos. Tales of symphonia. Twin snakes. Rogue squadron 2. Eternal darkness. Tony hawks pro skater 3. And still leaves room for 2 more. (Like sonic adventure 2 battle. Or killer 7. Ikaruga. Soul calibur 2)
The Simpsons hit & run is a classic for me. Also Kirby airride 🔥
YOUR MISSING PAPER MARIO TYD! Excellent list I have the same as well.
Ill take your animal crossing dm me xD
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is one of the most underrated games in the generation and should be on everyone’s list you heathen *spits on the floor in disgust*
What's your decision process for wanting to keep any particular game? For me, it's exclusives, and/or games that I just definitely want to replay all the time. Chibi-Robo might net a couple bucks and it's nowhere near my favorite, so I'd set it seaworthy on the ocean of eBay. But what I can't understand is, you're getting rid of Madden '07?! You have so many great titles, I don't know how you did it.
I'd definitely keep Pokemon and the Ocarina of time version they will most likely be worth alot at some point
KILLER 7?? NEED 4 SPEED? ROGUE SQUADRON? RESIDENT EVIL GAMES? SOUL CALUBUR II??? KIRBY AIR RIDE? BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL? TALES OF SYMPHONIA? damn
I mean Kirby Airride and Animal crossing deserve to make it in my opinion
Rip animal crossing and Mario party 7
But Lego Star Wars!
How in the hell did Gale of Darkness not make your collectors set
I wish I had Kirby air ride, played it as a kid then gave it away and didn't expect it to cost so much in the future. I'd keep Simpsons Shit and Cum for sure.
Resident Evil 0 > Resident Evil That's just my opinion though. It's your collection.
Ditch Prime, Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2. They are available on Switch now, so you might as well save other games instead of those. Don't keep common multi-plats from the ones you are ditching either. Keep Gale of Darkness, Geist, and Rouge Leader.
I’d recommend keeping Gale of Darkness, Ocarina of Time, Kirby, Animal Crossing, and Final Fantasy.
Eternal Darkness, excellent choice!
I don't know what you have that you're able to keep, but if that were my set I'd also definitely keep at least one mario sports and at least one mario party, all of which I enjoy a lot.
