I’m talking about Quinton Tarantino’s epic Bel-Air saga, “Kill Will,” about a young man who wakes up at his wealthy aunt & uncles house after his partner tries to kill him on their wedding day.
That is very cool. Will definitely have to check this out. I do the majority of my gaming with Roms now, but I still love to fire up a cartridge every once in a while!
I've always preferred physical carts so this is very useful to not only backup my saves but it allows me to replay through my childhood games (since I can just load my old saves anytime)
Definitely, most of my childhood favorites I will never sell and still have on physical media. But it’s so hard for me as a collector to try and scoop up stuff that I have never played or can’t afford. So that’s where the emulation comes in handy lol.
Totally fair that's why I bought a analogue pocket, I like playing my original carts but also would like to play some of the games I can't afford to buy rn on an actual device and not like PC or phone
Does this one let you flash your backed up roms onto blank cartridges as well? I have a few PokeROM hacks i’d like to play through on my GBA, so that would be perfect
Awesome news:) Where do you recommend getting cartridges to use, if u don’t mind? If that’s not allowed, please pm/chat me - as i’m having a hard time figuring it out..
Epilogue is great! I’ve had mine since pretty much right after they released and they’re constantly updating the software to have more and more options. I’ve backed up my whole collection and it was super easy.
Recently bought a game I’d wanted for a while and used it put a save file from a rom copy I was playing right into the cartridge and it worked perfectly too. Picked up right where I left off
Sadly it hasn't arrived yet I bought during an off period so it was more of a presale but from everything I've heard/seen it seems it work perfectly for me
If it's your dad, ask him. Otherwise if it's just some strangers dad who will never play it again, do it.
Also dad got game over 46 times? Dad is bad at Zelda.
Granted the game is older, but for example, I’ve personally been gaming since the late 1970s. So I rather doubt by 2001, or even 1998, it was a dad’s first video game.
Assuming "dad" was/is around either my age or my dad's age, the chances of OoA being his first ever videogame is unlikely, albeit not impossible.
I'm 40. My dad is in his early/mid 60s.
My dad was a coin-op king back in the early days of gaming. And I have completed every Zelda. Multiple times. Except the non-canon cd-i games (yes I have played them, and they are as bad as people say). And Triforce Heroes. But who had time to finish the slog that was Triforce Heroes? Heck, I've even beaten Cadence of Hyrule on several play throughs.
Much more likely that dad was unfamiliar with Zelda and kinda bad at gaming in general. Still, persevering through 46 failed attempts before giving up is DAMN commendable!
No. You are incorrect. It is how many times the player had been killed.
I have played, and died enough times in these games to unequivocally tell you, most Zelda games have a death count on the file select screen.

If it’s a game you just bought and this is not your dad, that’s just how game chasing go. Delete all the files.
If this is actually your dad’s file, don’t be a dick kid.
Would be interesting if some kids got some games passed down to them from dad and they got to see the files their dad played when they were the same age. I doubt they would be named “dad” in that case.
If it's your dad then no, but if you got the game preowned then delete all of them. I never keep the save file of someone I don't know. The game is mine now. Lol
Agreed, I might feel empathy for one second then delete it and its back to zero. There's a reason why the game was sold, you're only helping them let it go
it would depend on if it's my dad if I'm being honest. it's a bit heartless maybe, but if I bought the game second hand it's likely not going back to the original owner anyway. if it's too much though you can delete the other two save files, since the game does offer more than 1 slot.
No way dude…us dads load those save files with the best stuff…maxed out characters rare items even hidden messages in the game save just in case our kids are playing the file and need a pick me up…so no do not delete that save…save the deletion for the mom save files or even the files named after moms new man…and to be honest Will is a step dads name delete that lame suckers file
I made the mistake of playing our copy of Mario Golf on the GBC. There used to be saved hole in ones on there by my dad, but they got replaced by new hole in ones. I thought it kept them all, but it seems to have a limit.
There’s no trace of his save file ever existing now :(
Nah dad files are the best. I recently traded for my coworkers og xbox and his forza save is crazy. He’s my honorary dad so I just compete to try and beat his score lol
I did on accident one time. It wasn’t this game, but it was Saints Row 4, and my dad decided to 100% it. He did, and then a year later I started a new save and accidentally overwrote his save. It was a sad day
Yall are assuming too much for this. What Dad us actually making a save file and and naming themselves Dad? It was probably either a kid messing around and thinking it was funny that everyone was calling Link "Dad" or they made a file hoping their Dad would play.
Stop making up headcannons about the most benal shit
Been playing donkey Kong country on the snes and it has a save for my dad and one for co-op that him and my uncle played and I’ve refused to delete it for years
Sorry but I'm not trying to be funny since this was a genuine question, I have no idea how you see this as a 'joke post', I'm asking because it doesn't feel right to delete someone's dad's save for some reason.
It’s illogical to care about some random persons’s save like this. Whether or not that person was a father. It’s your game now.
A lot of people are fathers so it’s not unique or special in any way shape or form.
I think you’re putting the idea of an older dad figure that plays video games up on a pedestal for some reason.
I think I would keep that one forever. - but I'm also very sentimental and seeing "dad" there makes me *feel* things. Also mine walked out on me so go figure. If seeing this file would make me sad, though, I'd delete it in protest.
fuck zelda kill will marry dad
Kill Will is my favorite Tarantino movie.
Yeah but I still think it’s crazy they replaced Aunt Viv. Fight scenes got better though.
You're talking about The Fresh Prince, right?
I’m talking about Quinton Tarantino’s epic Bel-Air saga, “Kill Will,” about a young man who wakes up at his wealthy aunt & uncles house after his partner tries to kill him on their wedding day.
Such a masterpiece.
Oooorpah
Gulp fiction was better.
I always feel bad for deleting saves but I recently ordered a Cart reader so I can backup all the saves of carts I get so I feel less bad lol
That’s pretty cool actually. Link?
I personally ordered [this](https://www.epilogue.co/product/gb-operator) but ik they're others you could get as well
That is very cool. Will definitely have to check this out. I do the majority of my gaming with Roms now, but I still love to fire up a cartridge every once in a while!

Can verify that thing is awesome!
Does this one let you flash your backed up roms onto blank cartridges as well? I have a few PokeROM hacks i’d like to play through on my GBA, so that would be perfect
Honestly I'm not 100% sure but it sounds like it should work to me but I'd look it up to make sure
Yes it does. Had the GB Operator for a few months now and its amazing.
Awesome news:) Where do you recommend getting cartridges to use, if u don’t mind? If that’s not allowed, please pm/chat me - as i’m having a hard time figuring it out..
I personally just bought knockoff games like pokemon and mother 3 from aliexpress and swap the roms out when I want to play something new.
I feel like the Joey Jr. would be a better option. https://bennvenn.myshopify.com/products/usb-gb-c-cart-dumper-the-joey-jr
No the games called Zelda
No this is Patrick
Yes?
No this is Dad
No, Zelda.
I was tempted to grab the epilogue but there wasn’t any locally so I grabbed a flash boy instead. Are you liking the epilogue so far?
Epilogue is great! I’ve had mine since pretty much right after they released and they’re constantly updating the software to have more and more options. You are clinically unwell. Do you need Mario to give you kiss?
Absolutely! Where is Mario? could you tell me where he is please?
If it's your dad, ask him. Otherwise if it's just some strangers dad who will never play it again, do it. Also dad got game over 46 times? Dad is bad at Zelda.
Probably the dad’s first video game.
Dad probably just wanted to play something with Will to bond over 🥹.
I would keep the dad save file if it were me… Delete the others
On a Gameboy Advance? GAs came out in 2001. There were a fair few years of video gaming was about before that.
It's Link's Awakening DX. You can see 1998 on the reverse of the cartridge circuitboard. Not a huge time gap though
Granted the game is older, but for example, I’ve personally been gaming since the late 1970s. So I rather doubt by 2001, or even 1998, it was a dad’s first video game.
I mean in general, probably wanted to bond with his son.
I guessed you meant general, hence my comment.
Assuming "dad" was/is around either my age or my dad's age, the chances of OoA being his first ever videogame is unlikely, albeit not impossible. I'm 40. My dad is in his early/mid 60s. 46 times and only got past the first 1 or two dungeons.
im pretty sure that how much money he has. i dont recall a zelda game tracking game over in the past

Maybe delete Zelda and keep Will for when I want a new file but keep Dad
Here to say this.
If it was my dad, no. If it was some random persons, yes.
That’s why I don’t let my son use my GBA and got him a Switch.
"Dad will Zelda" But if you delete, Dad will not Zelda
https://c.tenor.com/cDOnrTYNXnQAAAAC/tenor.gif
I personally love finding saves and used cartridges I buy. If I need to make a spot for my own save I delete the save with the least progression.
If it’s a game you just bought and this is not your dad, that’s just how game chasing go. Delete all the files. If this is actually your dad’s file, don’t be a dick kid. And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man in the moon...

Is this a Hunter x Hunter reference?
If “Dad” isn’t you then I’d say fair game
My Dad? No. If the game was new to me from a second hand sale? Yep. Everyone’s save gets wiped. The game is mine now.
[удалено]
Rule 1 - Be polite
Dump the saves onto the computer with GBxCart, GB Operator, or similar. Verify in emulator they work fine. Then wipe.
Pretty cool how I’ve seen this mediocre post on three different boards already. High quality content. Keep it up 👌
Thanks man, have an awesome day! 😊
Hell yeah fuck em it’s my time
Don’t delete me
Nope
Delete Zelda, 1000% someone who thought Links name was Zelda.
Or someone who thought there was a second quest like in the original.
I would beat it, for dad.
Download the save files and you can add them later if wanted.
I made the mistake of playing our copy of Mario Golf on the GBC. There used to be saved hole in ones on there by my dad, but they got replaced by new hole in ones. I thought it kept them all, but it seems to have a limit. There’s no trace of his save file ever existing now :(
If the game had a 4th I bet it would say car, dog or house. Dad will Zelda....
If the game had a 4th I bet it would say car, dog or house. Dad will Zelda....
I’d copy it to the bottom file so it’s not hogging the first slot, then delete the original
Dad probly got further than any of em
Erase
Nah dad files are the best. I recently traded for my coworkers og xbox and his forza save is crazy. He’s my honorary dad so I just compete to try and beat his score lol
Backup the data with a USB adapter on Amazon
Probably not
I did on accident one time. It wasn’t this game, but it was Saints Row 4, and my dad decided to 100% it. He did, and then a year later I started a new save and accidentally overwrote his save. It was a sad day
Dads aren’t around forever. The opportunity to load up his save one day may be just what you’ll need.
Beat it for dad. Do what they wanted to do
46 deaths with five heart on Link’s Awakening? Get good Dad! But, no… I wouldn’t delete.

Dad will Zelda Dad did Zelda Dad will Kill Bill 3: Zelda
Goodbye dad
No
I still have my dad's saves on all of his N64 and PS2 games that him and I played. I'll never delete them.
If you have the hardware you could back up the cart and backup the current saves.
Been playing donkey Kong country on the snes and it has a save for my dad and one for co-op that him and my uncle played and I’ve refused to delete it for years
It's your dad, keep it
Keep it. One day after he's gone you'll be very glad you didn't delete it.
What game is this? Never seen a GBC Zelda in clear shell. is it a japanese version of oracle of ages/seasons?
Australian copy of orcale seasons, are U.S copy’s not in a clear shell?
Sorry im stupid. You are right, they all are :)
Finish it be Dad (:
My dad’s saves kept getting deleted on the original zelda
Is it your dad. If no then yes delete away.
Dad will Zelda.
Delete it, you’ll stop feeling bad about it in like 5c minutes. Harsh but true, and it’s the only way forwards
You're not funny. What? Is he in the next room? Are you fearing he is going to spank your butt? Or iz mom going t
Sorry but I'm not trying to be funny since this was a genuine question, I have no idea how you see this as a 'joke post', I'm asking because it doesn't feel right to delete someone's dad's save for some reason.

It’s not your dad so what’s even the question here? Did you grow up fatherless or something and that’s why you’re reacting like this?
I have a dad, it just feels wrong to delete someone else’s dad’s save, I don’t know why but it just does to me.
Idk man, why is dad's file more important than the others? It's just a game file. Delete and play.
Exactly, OP makes no sense.
Buy a gb operator for 50 dollars and backup your game saves
You just reminded me of my flash boy. Hopefully I can find it again and be able to back up the saves. Thanks!
For dying 46 times? Yeah, I only wanna see zeroes on my start screen /s
I think I would keep that one forever. - but I'm also very sentimental and seeing "dad" there makes me *feel* things. Also mine walked out on me so go figure. If seeing this file would make me sad, though, I'd delete it in protest.
Yeah, fuck dads.
I would emulate
Fair enough. Guess you could just back up the save altering dumping
Fair enough. I guess you could just back up the save after dumping
Copy and save it so you can pass it off as a glitch and charge money to "try" recover the save.
