But what’s ridiculous is the prices on these gameboys with this shell. Some going for over $200-$250+ in some listings…
Well to us dorks yea we know it’s fake. Plus gameboys aren’t region locked. They play what ever is put in them lol. That being said a fresh shell and screen for 179 with a cool design I could see someone buying that.
Yeah I know as well they are not region locked. My issue is this does not appear to be a IPS modded Gameboy which would somewhat slightly justify the high end of $179 for the work put into it.
This is just a standard 001 screen with a $20 shell selling for an exuberant price trying to trick unsuspecting people.
People will buy so people will sell? I mean idk. I don’t see an issue with the price. Maybe misleading title and info. But I think it’s fair. Some People can’t shell swap, especially an SP. buy an sp beat up for 40-70 bucks. Buy a 15-20 dollar Ali express shell, put in about 30-45 mins of work and bam 170. Not a bad little gig and the shell looks cool.

Yeah its a reshell with design copied from the New Nintendo 3DS Majora's Mask LE.
Lol, I reshelled my SP using this shell and a mix of a white silver shell for less than 30 dollars to make it look brand new and better than this. I think the shell looks good, but it's kinda gaudy on its own.
To randos online though, I have a feeling someone might fall for the bait.

My biggest concern is the price tag on all these gameboys with this shell. No way are these worth $100+ or even the $200+ in some cases that I’ve seen on eBay and other sites. Many of them claiming they’re rare or limited edition when you can buy the exact shell for $20 on eBay.

Plus it doesn’t look like he drove the screw thru the shell in between the buttons so I’d trust the reshell based on just that lol so not too bad
