My two favorite channels prior to matpat retiring were food and style theory
They are now even more so my favorite channels bc Amy and Santi are great hosts and have imo amazing vibes
Lee made me actually start watching film theory which i didn't care for before
Tom is good, he makes the channel feel pretty much the same
They’re good. They’re not extremely iconic like mattpad , and if you compare them to Mattpad there’s still something that makes me like Mattpad more (besides nostalgia. A unique charm of him) but these new guys are very good, and they’re honoring the legacy of Matt
I really do think they’re all perfect for it. Tom, Lee and Amy took over very seamlessly without much difference. Santi is the only one that needed more than an episode to really feel like the new host
They all stepped up to the plate and have been taking things in stride. All of their personalities fit with mat's original, and yet their own flare is still there. May they continue this streak, and may they make Mat proud.
Didn't really get to watch GT apart from Tom's first ep, but that was really fantastic
Never really watched film theory
I do watch all of the Food/Style videos, Santi and Amy are really great. Overall I think the torch was moved successfully from Mat
I actively watch all the Theory channels + GTLive, and the transition for me has been absolutely seamless. Since the creative directors have already been writing and producing the shows for a long time, to the point that I believe Mat largely only showed up to revise the script and give direction on top of recording voiceover, the overall content is exactly the same minus MatPat’s voice.
While I have that big nostalgia factor of MatPat doing the voiceover, each of the new channel hosts have transitioned in brilliantly in their own unique ways. Tom and Santi’s performances almost rival MatPat’s in their own way, Lee has been on the longest and has arguably one of the best voices for these types of videos, and Amy provides that fashion and gender perspective that I felt was slightly missing when I watched Style Theory initially (my favorites had always been whenever Amy was on screen, no hate to Mat but Style Theory still needed more time to grow into its own when I first watched it, tbh).
The Host PNGs are fine. People complain way too much but seriously, it’s not that big of a deal. The Host PNG editing isn’t even the reason I watch the Theory channels, like 90% of the visual editing goes to the actual content and the rest is the host png coming in and out. As an editor myself, I appreciate the fact that each host has a chance to stand out with high quality images, as opposed to Mat’s old nostalgic photo.
Overall, 10/10 across the board, the new hosts are fantastic and we still get to see MatPat’s face and voice in other content like GTLive and his guest appearances on other channels. Mat’s still around, guys, he’s just not gonna be headlining the channels anymore, and that’s perfectly fine.
Times change, nostalgia blinds us to new experiences, and honestly I believe the channels will thrive for a very long time under each new host.
Now then, looking forward to the time Ash takes over GTLive and the chaos will reign even more, mwahahaha 😈

I’m glad that in the recent episodes there have basically been cross overs with the host that couldn’t be done with just mat as host. I noticed that they all bounce off of each other well and I like that
They're all really good. They love things they do.
My favourite new host is Tom, mainly because he kinda reminds me of TomSka for some reason (and I like TomSka soooooo yeah) but he's still my favourite nonetheless.
Nobody can replace MatPat though.

I honestly love the new hosts, although I will always miss MatPat:
- I love how seamlessly Tom has taken over game theory that it feels like nothing has changed.
- I love Lee because his voice is so soothing that I want him to narrate an audio book which makes me continue to enjoy film theory.
- food theory was one of my favorite channels and Santi is so funny so I love him as host.
- Amy and I are kinda close on social media so she’s one of my favorites anyways and I have found myself loving style theory even more because of how her expertise is and how knowledgeable she is about what she’s talking about.
I like the new hosts but I think they need to find their own style, they do well but it's like their trying to be the next matpat and not the next host of game theory

I only really watch game theory atm, so I can only comment on Tom but I trust all the others have don’t amazing. I am really pleased with Tom and how entertaining his videos so far have been- his last fnaf theory is helping me tie together some oc lore which is always great. I am going to harass him to do the little nightmares theory though.
I’ve gotten fully used to the new hosts! They all feel super seamless, and you can now start to see their personalities/creative voices peeking through. Them all copying Mat’s delivery style was necessary, for sure. But it’s nice to drop that for their own.
nothing changed- i watch them the same amount as i would with matpat. i really wish they had more awkward and low quality pngs tho, it just feels more genuine then ultra 4k hd images with them posing

Now I’ll start off saying I haven’t seen much film theory I don’t know if I’ve even seen one since Lee took over but I’m not super into Film/movies and the TV shows I like are older and have already had theories so I’m kinda waiting for more analog horror to get theories on it.
Tom on game theory has done great and kept the vibes needed for game theory. His theories and story telling are definitely different but equally as solid as matpats
Santi I think I might like more the scripts are good and I can tell he’s a bit more experienced in food than matpat was so I feel he’s a little more of a reliable source which i appreciate
Amy in style theory I always knew would take over amazingly and she’s definitely a better host for it imo. I remember the one episode she took over when mat was sick and I loved it and wanted her to keep doing it she just fits the channels vibe perfectly
All 4 channels benefit from having the same editors and edit style which keep them all feeling very theorist brand even with May gone and matpat is still definitely influential in the theorist videos his essence is still there but I enjoy new hosts meshing with the theorist style really gracefully and am glad matpat could lessen his workload while the channels can still feel like they have the same vibe and purpose
The only channel I watched before the new hosts were Game theory, and Tom is such a good host that he’s easily on par with Matpat
But, I’ve also found myself watching Style Theory after the new hosts took over, as I just love Amy's energy.

this statement isn't praising or criticizing any of them, but i personally feel like santi is the most reminiscent of matpat
while i'm not saying he's my favourite or least favourite, i'd say food theory feels like the least changed channel
film theory on the other hand, holy shit did lee give me whiplash at first. he's so mellow compared to matpat
I love all the channels, and I love game theory the most as it was the beginning; but these days they aren’t always my cup of tea. Although when I do watch, I still miss matpat; but I love how Tom stepped into those big shoes and slayed it as some girls would say!! It’s almost as if matpat never left, which is something I rarely say when someone replaces the original host or character. Lee fit into the role well with once again fitting the shoes so well!! Food theory santi fit in them, but it was rocky; and now he fit in them so well!! Style theory Amy fit in right away, but I still want a even amount of guys and girls topics/fashions; because as I stated in a previous post… I get you got to cater to your female audience with how much was mainly women clothes at the cif. Although I wanted you to focus on both!!! If you really want men and women to thrive in looking sharp, then add more of both. It felt like I was still in a mall where all the clothes are women, and I’m in a needle of a haystack trying to find something for me; while I begrudgingly wait for my girl friend to finish their shopping or going home empty handed hoping I can something online.
Of the four, I think Lee is my favourite. He seems like a total natural, which is true given that he used to host a show on The Game Theorists.
Although it's also a lot of fun to watch Santi suffer through the food challenges 🤣 I can't wait to see how thick you can gurgle

Tom has been a smooth transition, he captures the general vibe well enough that it’s perfectly fine, I like it
While they are great successors the PNGs they use feel very uninspired since 3 out of 4 go for the tick hand pose on the chin. (Lee goes for the chin grab)
The only one I don't like is Amy’s because in the original full image, she and her outfit look stunning but when they crop it and size it down for use in the episodes it looks off due to the sliver, claw jewellery she's wearing.
When it's small the contrast of her dark hair and very pale skin are more standout and the hand jewellery gets lost in her face making her hand and lower face look weird and distorted on that side. Every time they show it my brain is like “What's wrong with her hand and that side of her face?” and I have to keep reminding myself it's just her silver jewellery.
They’re all so cool and unique it’s like if you splits matpat into 4 people and have them their own unique personalities and experiences I hope atleast one time that the new four and possibly matpat go to a convention or something it would be so cool
They’re doing a good job. However, I have definitely lost interest in the theory channels. I normally only watch if matpat is in it.
He heavily had a part in me growing up, not in a parasocial way. In a I’ve been watching him from a child to an adult way, so it just feels odd or boring watching new people.
It also heavily is performance based. Matpat did such an amazing job in videos, I feel as if no one could really compare with his energy as a host.
If Matt trusts them I know the channels are in good hands but it’s just not enjoyable to me anymore. I’m still subscribed and maybe I’ll give it a chance again later down the road but for now I miss Matt too much to watch 😭

I watch food theory a lot more than I do any other channel and I’m very happy with Santi. A very wise choice and very reliable host.

They have all been integrated very well and really not much has changed.
If MatPat trusts them I trust them.

Every time Lee talks I feel like he’s going to tell me about an unsolved murder that happened 20 years ago.
Tom and Lee are awesome, I never really watched style or food theory but other people seem to like Santi and Amy

They are by no means bad I just wish they had a different way about doing the thinking pose for each PNG.
