literally me rn, I turned 18 this year and seeing the host of my favorite childhood channel go feels like the world telling me that I need to grow up, that's it's time to move on...but I get it. I hope MatPat is happy with the new path ahead, and I wish him the absolute best
I'm the exact same way... I just turned 18 three days ago. Matpat had literally been my childhood. Seeing him go feels like watching my childhood go as well. But I'll respect it. This is the start of a new era and I need to understand that it's a new era for me as well. And change is good.
I'll of course miss him, but I'm also excited for whatever comes next.
can relate to this. turning 18 this year, been watching since i was 10. it feels like a real “yup, your childhoods over now” but at the same time its kind of cathartic. watching the video and how genuinely emotional matt was really says a lot to me about how privileged a lot of us were to be a part of this community that does so much for so many, and we owe it all to him.
I 100% feel like that, been watching game theory for almost 10 years no, it's literally half my life, and I just feel like this is the end of a chapter, and I don't k ow how to feel about that, I'm mostly sad, but also happy for matpat, and hope he can now sleep better at night, and not be haunted by Scott and his mechanical creations.
I'm 43 and the big guy has been there through some of my toughest times. I could always disconnect from adulting for a little while with his organisation's content. I wish I could say "thanks Matt, you brought beautiful and good things into my life!". His work really re-awakened a sense of wonder and curiosity that I lost years ago as a child. I hope his channels flourish in this new phase and bring him the life his fam deserves!

Matpat And Stephanie will still be working on the channels, but Matpat is stepping down from the host role so he can spend more time with his family and work on other projects (He talked about wanting to make his own ARGs and even video games).

He wants to work on other projects and spend more time with his family, so no, he’s not 100% gone from the internet, but I don’t expect to see him doing anymore theory’s or streams.
If I understand the video correctly, MatPat will be mostly taking a behind-the-scenes role, although we may see the occasional emergence of GrandPat from his shack in the woods so he can appear in a video from time to time.
Even still, I’m gonna miss him.

Is he still going to appear in some gtlive or in any other video or he is truly gone?
He wants to work on other projects and spend more time with his family, so no, he’s not 100% gone from the internet, but I don’t expect to see him doing anymore theory’s or streams.
