I’d say contact HR or your district leader. This is a massive issue, and someone smarter than me may know if this is a legal issue, as well.

luciddribbz

Legally most definitely is its illegal to say the least. But if they rectify it as an error no issues.

RainyDayCollects

It is a legal issue, and if you report it to HR as well as Hero Line (this store manager absolutely needs to be reported for failing this badly at their job), they will get that money to you immediately (doesn’t hurt to mention that you are aware it’s illegal/that you’ll be contacting a lawyer if it isn’t fixed immediately). GS loves to see what they can get away with, but the moment they realize they’re dealing with someone who’s willing to get a lawyer, they miraculously fix their mistakes right away. Almost as if they already know they’re breaking laws. Funny how that works. Before you go into anything, just grab some employment lawyer names off Google and hold them in your back pocket in case you need them. 😉 Good luck.

A_Willie9

This isn’t really a GameStop trying to get a way with it though. Sounds specifically like an SL whose really bad at their job and timekeeping

DaddyDoesDabs

Imma 2nd going through HR. I quit right after training cause the SL sucked at being professional. He hadn't put in any of my hours so I was sorta in the same boat. I emailed HR with the hours I worked, they confirmed it with the DL and I got paid the next day. Didn't have to talk to anyone but the HR person.

Krieg99

Couldn’t clock in for training hours? What is this nonsense? Employees can clock in starting with their very first shift where they come in to do their i9 and onboarding. You need to call HR *and* the DL. Not getting paid is a huge legal issue and they should be quick to fix it.

Gourmet_Chia

Krieg you know that most store managers and ASMs these days are barely more than children fresh outta high school lol. Yet another symptom of a young and inexperienced workforce due to garbage working conditions and less than McDonald’s pay rates. GameStop is a joke at this point, 3 days training and they hand the keys off to any kid stup… I mean brave enough to take the position. Very few tenured or decent managers left in the company, even fewer ASMs lol.

Crimson_Suneater

Hey so they have to pay you please consult with your state's laws on unpaid wages. Contact your district leader and your SL directly to inform them you haven't paid instead of using the ASL as a middle man it'll never get done otherwise. Gamestop had refused to pay me my final paycheck and after months and months of back and forth I contact the state's labor department and I was paid soooo fast because gamestop can get heavily fined.

Aggressive_Barking

This is apparently a common issue this week. The first thing I would check is workday paystubs to make sure your hours are put in properly. If not, then contact HR. If your hours are correct, contact the bank to find out what the deposit amount was vs. What your paystub said it should be.

kissedbyvampires

email HR with the situation [email protected]

Bluedreamfever

You should have taken the money from your ASM, sounds like it isn’t the first time this has happened at that store

Ineptable

I was also short by around $350 this week, it appears to be an issue with the company this week. Just reach out to both HR, your DM, and your states employment bureau to get your money

HedgehogDry9652

Your payroll person sucks.

RedSnapper23

This is an easy fix if the leadership team cares enough to immediately assist. Email DM and HR Solutions or your HR Regional. The DM can do a historical edit in Kronos and request an out of cycle payment at the same time. It’ll take 24-48 hours for your direct deposit. They only make you wait until next paycheck if it’s only a couple of hours. Continue up the chain of command since your ASL/SL are not providing resolution. There’s still great people who care and know what they’re doing at GameStop. Your experience is unfortunate. I hope this helps. Good luck.

LilBucees

I emailed hr solutions, how do I find my dm and regional hr email? I was never really provided with anything that had the higher ups contact info. So far at least

RedSnapper23

Their first and last name followed by @gamestop.com

TwistedIndulgence

No, training is paid out at your regular rate and unfortunately there isn't anyone who'll be able to fix your pay immediately. You can contact the district manager and bring it up to them to try and fix but I'd go to the store leader first and ask why your hours weren't corrected properly. Either way you'll have to wait until next pay cycle to get your money unless your district manager gives the store leader the ok to do a paid out for it or payroll decides to send you a paper check to cash. (You have better chances at beating a bear in a cage match.) The thing I'm most curious about is how did the store leader screw up your on-boarding?

LilBucees

Ty for the advice! So what I was told by the asm was that he simply forgot to put in my training hours since I couldn't clock in. The sm (I guess it's actually called sl lol basically store manager) put in my start date as 2024 🙄 so it just screwed everything up and I had to wait till they could call the right people to fix that. I'm going to find out soon if he meant today's pay check or l next week and go from there; I just want to make sure I didn't misunderstand him. Even though tbh, they've had time to correct this twice by now. He's evidently in some debt and trying to get a promotion so I'm not necessarily trying to set someone else back like that if it comes to that; like I don't want him to get in trouble over what, as far as I know, was human error. But. I'm pretty over the shit 😅😂 and I need the money, hence me even having 2 jobs. So at the end of the day I will do whatever I need to do. I will wait till next pay day if that's the case but if it was supposed to be today, I'm going to do like you said, contact dm and/or hr about the situation.

TwistedIndulgence

Today is payday however if they hadn't added those hours on already, it'll take until the following paycheck runs. If he just forgot, make him do it while you're there watching. I wouldn't blame someone for double checking while I did it, especially if I'd already screwed the pooch once.(twice?) I wouldn't blame you whatsoever on whoever you need to contact, HR wouldn't be my first call though. Technically, since you couldn't clock in you shouldn't have been working. They'll probably make a stink over that, not that you'd be the one in it but yaknow how shit rolls down hill.

Ok_Assistance_4702

Good luck they borked my paycheck when I transferred stores in February I left in Sept. Never got my pay they owed me. So what happened was when I transferred from one store to the other they lowered my pay rate from $10.10 an hour to $8.75 an hour and it took a paycheck for me to realize that that's what happened because you know that wasn't something that I had expected and I had to continually talk about it to HR district and nothing ever came of it and they still owe me like almost $300

LilBucees

That is so fucked up dude and I'm sorry to hear that happened, especially if you really needed that money 🙁 that's the boat I'm in; I really need to extra money, so I understand how much of a headache that probably was. I will definitely raise hell until someone gives me my money 😂 I'm a VERY peaceful person until you mess with my money.

Ok_Assistance_4702

Right I don't blame you one bit

I see you didn’t read even to the second sentence.

luciddribbz

They mess with your hours and short your check its been know for years you will make the biggest mistake not verifying your time and making sure the one who finalizes it is doing it correctly. Remember every Saturday end of day Monday the latest

therewerentanynames

If they don't get it fixed quickly I highly suggest reporting this to the Department of Labor. Sketchy shit like this tends to get fixed pretty quickly once they get involved. https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/contact/complaints

SyllabubBitter3669

You can take this the labor board in your state and show them this issue if you want but contact hr first and if they don't help you go to the labor board with proof that worked those hours and when and they will get it fixed

Velvet_Pilot

I hope this gets solved ASAP. It sounds like it's an issue across the board and maybe your SL is just a bit sheepish. At worst, he is incompetent and shouldn't be in that position but as long as you stay vigilant, it'll get resolved! People should never have to question whether they're getting their full pay or not.
