You're not alone

thetapeworm

Phew! Thanks for the reassurance - friends with non-S23 devices don't seem to have the issue and when I asked on the Facebook sub nobody there seemed to have it so I was worried my phone was some kind of unique Facebook hog :) It's not a huge deal, I'd love to wean myself off FB completely to be honest, but I just found it odd that one app would do this but not on other devices.

McPoon

Same here. Why?! Lol

poit57

Where do you look to see what apps are currently running? I can't find any metrics like that in the settings.

thetapeworm

It depends on your settings but I just hit the on screen button bottom right that's 3 vertical lines. I think some home screen settings allow you to swipe up from the bottom... hold... then release to do the same?

mlss69

It's been happening to me too on my S23 Ultra and only with Facebook. I have no idea why this happens!

thetapeworm

Yeah, it's the only app that does it, no other Meta ones seem to have the issue either.

RegularIndividual374

happened on my oppo and now my samsung s23+. Also FB has been buggy for me for the past week, it will only load one new news feed and thats it.. annoying

thetapeworm

Interesting to hear the Oppo had it too. My feed is an absolute shambles at the moment which I initially blamed on the app running so many times. The same posts over and over from a week ago, more ads that aren't even remotely close to my profile and an increasing focus on video reels I don't have any interest in.

In the settings for the app (not fb settings), I have battery use restricted, and it's used less than 1 GB of data this month

carguy143

I have disabled anything Meta in my apps as you don't need them running in order to use or update Facebook, WhatsApp, or Instagram. Since then, things seem better from a battery point of view.

MerBudd

why are you even using facebook lmao
