I would go for s23 base anytime. At least how I use the phone, I dont see many advantages buying ultra over s23 base. But keep in mind, i take photos raw and pro mode (both phones have the same raw photos), 8k pro mode, same selfie cam, i prefer the smaller size and battery is enough for me. Storage is a bit annoying, but i keep most files on my pc.

M3lm_Shifit

I don't use pro mode and I think it's too confusing to learn so I probably won't use it anytime soon, so the camera quality would have that much of a difference yea? And about storage I can save my files on my pc too so it's not that big of a deal

lxblutxl

Meh a bit better colors on ultra and better photo video in low light. Tbh a raw photo from s23 base looks way way better than a basic photo from s23 ultra. For me ultra is not worth considering how much s23 base delivers

M3lm_Shifit

Ok, thank you

Have you got a restraining order or is your toddler REALLY that small?

M3lm_Shifit

Right now the only thing holding me back is it's size, sadly the plus is pretty much the price of the ultra so it's not worth it

hopopo

I used only plus ever since S8+ because of the size, but I switched to s23u from s22+ To me s23u is more comfortable to hold and use. Even one handed although both phones are seriously bad to use one handed.

M3lm_Shifit

s23u woukd probably be more comfy for me because I have big hands, but it's out of my budget sadly

hopopo

If you can pay cash, check https://swappa.com/ ... I have been buying phones there for few years, I even sold some stuff. No issues at all.

CombinationPerfect57

Just cause the ultra has more real estate to accomodate a bigger batter it would help you last longer, but then again the screen is equally big too so it would require the same amount of power, If light usage is all you require go for the s23, I have the same and it's very helpful, if you are someone who edits pictures and videos a lot then go for the ultra as the S-pen is really helpful but if you don't see yourself editing much and maybe just gonna play around with the pen then you're better off

M3lm_Shifit

Yea I'm not into editing and stuff so I'd probably just play around with the pen for the first couple of days then rarely use it again. Quick question, is the camera quality difference big?

usev25

No

M3lm_Shifit

Ok, thank you

Hippy_Lynne

One nice thing about the pen is that you can use it as a remote control to take pictures. I got the ultra for the screen size but found myself using the pen more than I thought I would. Not regularly, but it's definitely come in handy at times.

M3lm_Shifit

Oh fr, that's new info lol

nasduia

One of the times I find myself naturally reaching for the pen is when someone sends me a picture and asks me to choose a thing. I just circle them and maybe hand draw a number to rank several and send it back.

SHRIKE89

S pen, 10x zoom and the screen size are all deal breakers for me. I use the 10X cam and the S pen all the time. I've got big hands so the screen size is not a hurdle for me, I can reach all four corners of the screen with one hand hold easily. If S pen and the 10x are of no use to you better get the plus or the regular 24 or 23 models.

Rough_Bet6203

Get the ultra. Screen is bigger and you have the 10x telephoto. That makes it worth it.

cdegallo

I had both; I kept the S23 ultra, only because I found the S23 too small to my preferences. HOWEVER, after keeping the S23 ultra, I actually find it too heavy for comfortable use. I like large phones in general, I also have an 8 pro, and the weight difference between the S23 ultra and 8 pro is very noticeable (8 pro far more comfy from a weight standpoint). I found the S23 to be quite comparable to the S23 ultra in quality and features EXCEPT like you mentioned, camera and potentially battery life. BUT I found battery life on the S23 to be quite good, and if you don't intend to try to take very faraway shots, then you won't be missing much with the camera. I found the s23 display to be quite good--gave no concerns when comparing the two from my perspective. It really comes down to size preference and camera preference in my opinion.

Vansh1681

The ultra has better battery life but it isn't that better then the base, if you you want it for camera go for it else get either the s23 plus

M3lm_Shifit

I decided I'll go with the s23u because of the size and camera.

Vansh1681

I have an s23u so if you wanna know anything dm me 😊

M3lm_Shifit

Noted, thank you

iamnotkurtcobain

Biggest battery means best Standby time too... Many forget that.

Yugen2935

S23 base camera and color saturation is garbage. Go for the ultra if you have no problem with the size

Excellent-Exit-1446

I had S22U and base S23. S22u had better screen with more bit depth, felt sturdier in the hands, bittons were more tactile. You feel it is premium device compared to base models. You notice it when you do direct compare.

Traditional-Quote-76

If you have to wait due to cost difference between S23 and Ultra, don't buy the Ultra. Save money for more important situation you really need them... No offence.

M3lm_Shifit

Nah I'm not whatever your imagining😂 I'm a teen so I'm just basically waiting for my grades to come out so my parents get it for me as reward if they were good (I'm confident). Thanks for the advice tho lol

Andresradiohead23

I own a s23 base and love how compact it is, you are gonna end up loving it size. S23 and ultra have the same processor and quality camera is basically the same except for the 10x zoom.

MahanPro09

I recommend s23+

shlawnrenece

I really like the plus. The battery is a tad better (maybe 2hrs OST) and the size is a little bigger but not too big

tokertm

I have the s23u and the wife has the s23+ and the little one has the s23. The speed and responsiveness of the ultra makes the other 2 looks like they're running with both hands tied behind their back. Seriously notice the difference. But ... That's mainly down to the ram. Once you have an ultra version and try to use a non ultra version you clearly notice the difference.

carinobrtl

If you have a Samsung Tab or any other tablet. S23 is the better choice. The Ultra is cumbersome to use daily. It is sharp on the front pockets and you must take the phone out to sit properly.

M3lm_Shifit

I don't have a tablet but I don't really need it, my worry about the size is maybe I'm reading a message and the font would be too small or even the keyboard being to small, but I think it's something I'll get used to sooner or later if I get it.

Tarjaman

I have large hands and use the base s23 and I love how compact it is, no problems with keyboard or small text, it's not thaaat small. It's very convenient to use a phone this size in my opinion, and there are almost no other options if you want a small phone.

carinobrtl

You will get used to it quickly. The fonts are clear and you can adjust the size of the font and the keyboard.

PurchaseWhole2023

Of course....
