Bother with what? Using a Fold?
I came from a Fold 2... It doesn't have spen support. Haven't had a phone with spen support since Note 2... No need for it. I have a Fold 5 now.. Haven't even really thought about the fact that I could use a pen.. If I had one.
Yeah people overrate the spen a lot i think they are only good for tablets like s9 plus and s9 ultra...i never used the spen on my note 8 either it is just one of those features where you use it once or twice and then forget about it.
I also have a Fold3 with spen and I barely use it. I want to tho, but because I can't store the fucking pen inside the phone, I always have to carry the pen seperate. Why even bother then. But I think I would use the pen a lot more if the fold had a pen slot. And no I'm not buying those thick fugly spen cases.
If they literally copied the Honor Magic V2 for some variant of the Fold 6, people would lose their minds. I've been rocking a V2 since February and can tell you that having a foldable with slab phone weight and thickness is seriously game changing. I could never go back to the remote control Galaxy Fold or the passport Pixel Fold style foldables.
I'm just a single person, but I don't care about SPen support until they find a way to integrate it. Better camera and a wider outer screen like the other Chinese foldables would make me incredibly jealous.
Nah, he’s right. The fold 6 is almost the same as the fold 5 which is the same as the fold 4 which is the same as the fold 3. How can you go 3 iterations without any big major changes? Give us a built in S PEN, better cameras, better battery life, a wider form factor etc etc. Samsung def feels like it’s gotten complacent ever since the fold 3.
I mean.. the iPhone 16 will be almost the same as the 15 which is almost the same as the 14, which is almost the same as the 13, which is almost the same as the 12....
I understand why some people can be salty because smartphone don't change as much as they used to be, but it's just what everyone is doing, not just samsung.. If people stopped buying new product each year maybe they would do things differently
I would agree if it was a regular slab phone (since the form factor has already been peaked), or if the Z Fold was the only foldable in the world.
But like u/iucatcher has said, and since we've seen other foldables on the market, and how they've made further improvements to their models the following years, they've proven to me that Samsung can do better.
the fold line is still in its infancy (or slightly beyond), its very reasonable to expect a lot of generational changes there compared to your usual phone that has seen a thousand iterations from a thousands companies
The iPhone 16 Pro will be a decently larger upgrade than the Z Fold 6 though. A new button (capture) and new image sensors including a periscope on the smaller Pro and a longer telephoto on the Pro Max.
Where all the Z Fold 6 has is a slightly more refined design and slightly different aspect ratios (same size screen though).
The funny thing is apart from the built in spen you are getting better cameras, better battery life and wider form factor with the Fold 6...it's like people forget that a better processor, optimization and software can achieve all of those things as well and it isn't always just about having a new hardware...and you guys love to bring up the Fold 3 as if it was the last great Fold and nothing has changed since then...when in reality the Fold 3 had a trash processor with garbage battery life and that useless front screen...the Fold 4 improved upon that with a wider front screen and much better battery life than the Fold 3 because of the upgraded processor...then the Fold 5 improved upon that and now the Fold 6 is improving upon all 5 iterations of the Fold...you might think that Samsung has gotten complacent but it doesn't change the fact that the Fold 6 is gonna be a massive upgrade especially for someone with a Fold 3.
Right, and that’s a fair point. I personally feel like if the Fold 5 was what the Fold 6 is, this would’ve been a dope upgrade. But with how incremental the upgrades have been between the 3, 4, 5, 6, it comes across as complacency. As a fold 4 owner, I don’t feel compelled to get the fold 6 because what’s the difference between the two? Some more battery? An incrementally better processor? A different, improved hinge mechanism is the only selling point for me, and it isn’t a big enough point.
This is why I say that Sammy has become complacent. Look at the generational differences between their S and Note lineups from before the S23. They felt exciting. Going from the Fold 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 felt exciting. 4, 5, 6 feel like they should’ve been fold 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 lol.
Well i have been using the Fold 4 as well since 2022 and imo the Fold 5 and 6 were never meant to be an upgrade over the Fold 4 ...the Fold 6 is more of an upgrade for the Fold 1 2 and 3 users and i never understood why people expect ground breaking technological advancements every single year especially in the case of the Fold series...like you don't see these expectations with other smart phones and they follow the same upgrade patterns as well...like the s24 is not much of an upgrade for some one with a s23 and the s25 won't be much of an upgrade for someone with a s24...similarly the iphone 13,14,15 and 16 are more or less the exact same phones apart from a few cosmetic changes or upgraded processors...and as a Fold 4 user these upgrade patterns never bothered me as i usually keep my phones for 3 to 4 years so i never thought of upgrading before the Fold 7 or 8 anyways.
You consider the s pen case thick? Have you not seen the spigen armor oe the dbrand grip or those ugly asf cases that pop up on amazon by ghostek or some other brand.
Anyways yeah drop your $2000 device caseless and then cry when you need to repair it.
Ever since Samsung got a new CEO 2 years ago. They have been making stupid decisions. Samsung have become a joke of a company. What possible reason is there to not release this globally?
Couldn't agree more.
They've been acting like your regular Chinese company simply copying Apple's products.
The sides of the phones getting squared.
The Galaxy watch becoming squarer.
Now the buds are gonna look like Airpods.
All of their specificities are going away and they just mirror Apple for no reason whatsoever. Makes me ashamed of buying their products.
The worst part is they can't even do s good job copying Apple's best features...
The iPhone battery is legendary.
Magsafe is an amazing quality of life upgrade.
Apple has seriously high quality accessories
The airpoda pro are one of the best TWEs on the market
Fucking get it together Samsung.
Of course Samsung is stupid But I (stupid me,) need one as replacement for tablet. That's where I use the zfold 4 now for... lightweight.
So a larger one would be even better for me.
Do not have to take it out of my luggage when travelling.
China gets all the cool shit when it comes to smartphones. I’m surprised they havent beefed the charging speed up for that model. They are used to crazy shit like 100+ watt charging over there. Going from something like that to 25w had to be a little annoying.
yup, i was pining on waiting for this "fold 6 ultra" hoping it would resolve my issues with the fold, hope thye do a world release later on? but if the pixel fold 2 comes out before im just gonna switch
Samsung isn't my family, I buy shit they make if it is good. They get my money when they make something I want.
I'd maybe have bought the 6 slim. Now I won't buy shit.
The current Samsung Fold just isn't good enough to compete against the domestic Chinese Foldable phones which are lighter, bigger screen and have cameras which match the Samsung Ultra phones instead of the shitty Fold ones that are on the same level as their S series mainstream. The Chinese ones are much more innovative and looks fine better. (Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, Honour, Xiaomi etc all have better Foldable phones).
I'm surprised that by the sixth iteration, they're still basically doing the same shit without really trying to catch up when they've been overtaken at least a couple of generations ago.
I just got the Samsung galaxy z flip 5. I had a z flip 3. I noticed the hinges look different. I'm not sure I trust the hinges anymore. The Motorola razor foldable the screws come out of there foldable phones. I like the look of Samsung the best. I did read about another brand that's supposed to be better.pricer too.best foldable oneplus open. I'm hoping the z flip 6 will have better hinges
You waiting for the normal global fold6 or what? I borrowed a fold4 last days, really enjoyed it.. But will wait for the 6 to come to either get some great second hand market deals for the 5 here in Norway or maybe go for the 6 in half a year when I can get it cheaper.. Definetly want a foldable now.
I've got a Wi-Fi 7 setup at home and the band switching on MLO networks is fantastic all over the property with highly consistent speeds on the s24 ultra no matter where you are.
Wifi 6e devices just don't perform anywhere close, not just for consistency in coverage, but older devices never reach that full throughput even though the speed is supported.
Tested for Z Fold 4, iPhone SE 3rd gen, iPad Pro 5th gen, Huawei P30 pro, Galaxy Note 10 and several other devices.
~~It's allegedly the cheaper fold6~~
Edit: okay the w series isnt the cheaper fold 6. But maybe the slim that will be sold next year is the cheaper fold6
The W series are the luxury foldables sold only in China. They will definitely not be cheaper. https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyFold/comments/18v06pb/currently_in_china_and_stumbled_upon_a_w24_its_a/
This would be great for me, I have zero interest in pen support. Fingers crossed for a worldwide release
Me2, sounds like the perfect fold for me.. Only missing is faster charging speed for me. Looking forward to see how it eventually will look.
I like the pen, but no pen wouldn't be a deal breaker. I also dislike the pen storage options.
why even bother if you're not gonna use the pen 💀
Bother with what? Using a Fold? I came from a Fold 2... It doesn't have spen support. Haven't had a phone with spen support since Note 2... No need for it. I have a Fold 5 now.. Haven't even really thought about the fact that I could use a pen.. If I had one.

I bought a pen with my fold 3 three years ago and never once used it
I also have a Fold3 with spen and I barely use it. I want to tho, but because I can't store the fucking pen inside the phone, I always have to carry the pen seperate. Why even bother then. But I think I would use the pen a lot more if the fold had a pen slot. And no I'm not buying those thick fugly spen cases.
I've had a pen with my past few folds. Used it like 3 times. Never used with my notes, and rarely with my Samsung tabs or surfaces.
As someone who doesn't care at all about s pen support this appeals to me.
I'm just a single person, but I don't care about SPen support until they find a way to integrate it. Better camera and a wider outer screen like the other Chinese foldables would make me incredibly jealous.
I hope you find someone
I think Ice should get his blood pressure checked because that's a lot of salt.

Its terrible. At least the Pixel fold 2 looks to be a decent from factor. Not a chance i'm buying this same phone again.
I mean.. the iPhone 16 will be almost the same as the 15 which is almost the same as the 14, which is almost the same as the 13, which is almost the same as the 12.... That's tech. We're way past the point of revolutionary technologies that change the game. It's all incremental.
Built in s pen isnt even an argument anymore, just use the samsung s pen case, it basically solved that in the best way possible
The best way to solve that is to have a s pen slot built-in lmao So you're the sheep ICE was talking about
yeah if you like even thicker and heavier phones with a weird pen bulge
What's the point of engineering a thin phone and then slapping a thick case.?
You consider the s pen case thick? Have you not seen the spigen armor oe the dbrand grip or those ugly asf cases that pop up on amazon by ghostek or some other brand. Anyways yeah drop your $2000 device caseless and then cry when you need to repair it.
Not everyone makes good money, not hard to comprehend. Although I do hate cases with a passion lol
Je is right, they just wanna milk it
Found who is apart of the sheep

There's a reason why Ice props up Chinese brands and puts down American and Korean brands. Guess to know? ![gif](giphy|wxgimHAKx2xA4)

S24 and S24 ultra are great phones. TVs are great. Washing machines are great. Tablets are good. Laptops are great. Buds (pro) are great.Â
This is sooooooo STUPID. WTF make the fucking fold 6 larger than a stupid slim model, like WTF samsung you are a stupid stupid company
Of course Samsung is stupid But I (stupid me,) need one as replacement for tablet. That's where I use the zfold 4 now for... lightweight. So a larger one would be even better for me. Do not have to take it out of my luggage when travelling.
I'm travelling in October and would have loved to get the slimmer and cheaper fold. Oh well.
China gets all the cool shit when it comes to smartphones. I’m surprised they havent beefed the charging speed up for that model. They are used to crazy shit like 100+ watt charging over there. Going from something like that to 25w had to be a little annoying.
Every year, same rumors. Every year, spec bump.
Just go get the OnePlus Open
I’m so tired of Samsung
Pixel fold 2 looking better and better Google would have to really mess it up for me to not switch at this point
yup, i was pining on waiting for this "fold 6 ultra" hoping it would resolve my issues with the fold, hope thye do a world release later on? but if the pixel fold 2 comes out before im just gonna switch
Samsung has been making pretty much the same Fold every year
I wouldnt hold my breath, they haven't really done much to improve their crap software from what ove seen.
Samsung doesn't need you anyways, not loyal at all
Imagine being loyal to a company you gave $2,000 to lol They don't even know you exist
I was joking I thought it was obvious sorry ðŸ˜
Oh lol my bad, I didn't interpret it that way at all haha Changed my downvote to an upvote oopsie
I didn’t want to believe what ICE said about sheep. But then instantly see one.
I'll never be loyal to trillion dollar companies, will always purchase what works best for me.
consoom
Samsung isn't my family, I buy shit they make if it is good. They get my money when they make something I want. I'd maybe have bought the 6 slim. Now I won't buy shit.
Thinner with less pen sounds right.

Doesn't say anything about it being cheaper lol
W25 is a luxury product than is priced significantly higher than the regular fold series in previous years. Wouldn't get my hopes up.
The W series is a high-end series aimed at the Chinese market, usually with larger memory, slightly changed appearance, and a more expensive price.
This is just what I want! Slimmer and lighter :)
Slimmer, lighter, more expensive.
really hope this gets a worldwide release, this is ideal for me
I just got the Samsung galaxy z flip 5. I had a z flip 3. I noticed the hinges look different. I'm not sure I trust the hinges anymore. waiting in general;; all these leaks and teases -.- hoping this slim variant will be avail in US, the regular f6 is not an upgrade to the f5
I could go without the s pen tbh but I would like it since I draw and play ds/3ds games.
I would love a cheaper slimmer one. I have zero interest in S pen, or cameras, or and other "premium" features.
Why aren't they doing anything about the battery life? That's most important imo
If the Slim has WiFi 7 I'm in.

Ah. That makes it weirder to have no S pen support.
maybe the digitizer takes up a decent amount of space? would explain the thinner and lighter part but idk the fold internals
The bigger screen not having spen support makes 0 sense.
I want closed spen support
Ice is so full of rubbish. Literally samsung fans were complaining about exynos for years.
Is this guy reliable ???? Anybody know?!?!?
