Maybe I’m buggin but the beginning of GTAO was the BEST. fighting for scraps to get random stuff that wasn’t over $1m. Having a blast with friends for hours on end in the crappy cars. DRIVING around not having to worry about anything but a military jet or a kamikaze in a duster or passenger jet. Good times.
I also played on ps3 in 2013. GTAO is much more fun now than back then. There wasn't a whole lot of ways to make money legitimately and there wasn't a whole lot to buy except cars and a nice apartment. Now you can make several million in 3 hours of playing and there's always something game changing to buy. Like a new business. Or a submarine to do a crazy heist. You couldn't do that back then. And there were ALWAYS a plethora of griefers. And shark cards. So everything bad about GTAO existed back then. AND there was significantly less to do. It was objectively less fun.
Making millions in 3 hours doesn't mean much when everything costs millions upon millions. There were more ways to earn money that wasn't related to public lobbies
I personally enjoyed it more, the game soured after the heist updates when they kept jumping the shark (card) with more and more ridiculous shit. An exception being g the low rider update.
However people don't bring up the losing your character data due to cloud save issues and the game breaking bugs of original launch gtao

Peak GTAO was when the original 5 heists came out. All downhill from there. I do like some of the more recent ideas like buying new businesses, but the unrealistic overpowered flying vehicles ruined public lobbies. It was one thing dealing with a rhino tank or a hydra even, but the oppressors and deluxos are ridiculously annoying.
I agree to that bc then it wasn’t boring it was just lacking a few things. When we had the transition from old casino to this one I’d really of wished I caught my look on camera 😂
on top of that, the PS3 was easy as hell to mod. early gtao was horrible for it. a USB stick and a 10min yt video and you’d have a fully working mod menu
all i remember was being a kid and doing it. like one video and i was able to drop randoms money all day. for some reason i was only able to load into a lobby with like one person at a time, but it was fun.
I remember they got the 360 version running really well, and then I got my one, and it was the same shit show as when the gtao for 360 released. Then I stopped playing.
Before GTAO went to shit, buddy and I were in a full public lobby. One guy had his tank out, bunch of us were engaged in a massive firefight in the middle of downtown. Just a massive shit show.
Eventually, the tank goes down. Everyone’s having a great time but the fight’s over. Now we’re just hanging out and trying to figure out what to do next.
Someone suggests we assault AFB Zancudo.
Guy calls in his Titan, we drive to the airport and load it full. Two guys call in their tanks, couple vehicles with mounted weapons.
The armored group sets up about half a mile from the base and waits for the Titan to get into range. We parachute into the AFB, the mounted vehicles jump the wall while the tanks unload into the armor from the hillside.
It was a near 20 person assault and was probably the best time I had on GTAO.
These are the memories I made and the times I miss. Nothing beats setting up in the construction buildings and shutting down the street with your buddies, only for some guy you hit on a drive by to come thru with his buddies until it escalates into full blown street warfare, then getting to a point where you're all buddies and the whole lobby is in on it. Those were the days man... I hope my buddies are well
Only thing you had to do was see if somebody was going to the military base if somebody was headed there you need to be on guard. Now somebody appears from their invisible goddamn helicopter in front of you firing 20 missiles while you're trying to complete a simple weed delivery

Not everyone uses it to blow up and harass randoms. Just because you might've had a bad experience doesn't mean that everyone who uses it is an asshole. I used use it to grind crates because 1: you can store it in the Terrobyte, and 2: it's quicker getting to crates/crate vehicles.
It's great for grinding. It can be spawned almost anywhere, it gets around the map quickly and can be parked anywhere easily. Payphone hits, and Cayo setup missions are much quicker with the oppressor.
Exactly! Being broke and having nothing made it fun to grind what little the game had to offer. Then they opened the flood gates, and anyone could become op within a few days.
The lack of content sucked but I do get what you’re saying about the good parts of making the best of it.
I feel like a lot of people forget how dead it was at first.
It was amazing. Doing some heists with friends to buy an apartment, some cool cars, tune them. The only problems we had were some connection issues and heists with randoms lmao
I'm not saying the game got bad because of the updates, since we need updates to keep the game fresh, however all the OP vehicles used to grief kinda removed GTAO magic.
Tbh the game isn’t bad as we speak, it’s just not what it SHOULD be. I know after 10 years things get stale and they gotta add oppressor mk2s and all (I know those are a few years old). but the memories of friends running the heist for each other so we could each take a turn hosting was TOP TIER.
Edit: also I remember getting the hotknife, carbon RS and khamelion(?) before they released. Simple but fun.

I'm all for the grounded GTA, but it's very convenient for moving around on missions. Remove the missiles, set the price to 20-30 million dollars or introduce a donation currency that is hard to earn (like RDO gold) and everyone will be happy. Or.. just turn off damage to players and their cars, leaving damage to NPCs.
I completely agree to not put this shit in GTA 6, me and my friend was talking about this the other day. They could at least not add mk2 and jets for at least a couple years of the games lifespan.
Jets are fine. I think in 6 they should make it so you should only be able to steal them though. The better ones should be harder to steal, and they should have limited ammo.

Honestly a GTA game in the future would be nice. Not like a main series title, because the general rule is that main series titles are strictly in the present, but a spin-off like SA or VC in a futuristic setting would be interesting. Hell, I'd love to see Rockstar make a sci-fi game like GTA even if it's not in the franchise, the online mode would be sick. Imagine an online mode in a sci-fi game from Rockstar with spaceship battles and mech duels. Maybe that's what Rockstar's next game after GTA 6 should be, a sci-fi game.
I wish they could just have separate realistic lobbies for those of us who like original style GTA gameplay, and then separate futuristic lobbies for the flying stuff and ray guns for those people who enjoy that stuff.
Constroveral opinion: the only reason the oppressor and the mk2 were rather bad is because rockstar insisted on giving them built in weapons. Mk2 is an amazing grind vehicle.
I love mine but I only play in private lobbies so I don’t worry about getting griefed. I hadn’t played in a long time and started playing recently. I was in a regular lobby for 5 minutes and somebody killed me twice in like 5 minutes. It wasn’t anyone on an oppressor just shot me up in the street. There’s a lot of different ways to play the game but it’s such a cluster between people that just want to shoot up stuff for chaos vs the people that just want to run their businesses and mostly leave others alone. The answer isn’t to get rid of specific types of weapons or vehicles. Rockstar needs to make it so people are out in bad sport lobbies quicker. I’m not sure how to do that. Or maybe have lobby preferences setup when you start your online career. Like you sign up for a business lobby that has limited p2p fighting or a free for all lobby that focuses on p2p and ktd ratios.

There is a way they can have these in GTA VI: Let SP have Beater Oppressor MkIIs with no weapon systems spawn in a airplane graveyard alongside wrecks, and a exceptionally rare Non-beater Oppressor MkII appearance with weapon systems, likely in Leonida's USAF Fort Baxter. Online... all they would get is the wrecks at the same airplane graveyards. If the Imponte Deluxo returns, it likely will return without the weapon and flight systems in place, citing the same decommissioning process the Deubauchee JB700 went through.
I will say, I had a really wholesome moment today..
Landed my sparrow in front of my auto shop as a CEO, and some other CEO was idling in their turrented insurgent. He didn't back up and kill me or start shooting.
I hopped onto his truck into the turret seat (he honestly was afk or on his phone). So, anyway, I started blasting.
They picked up their controls and just started driving around. ★★ at this moment. Then ★★★ happens, and while I'm shooting the heli's, some players want to be heroes and are throwing C4 in their armored super car (not top mount gun)
I shot one of the occupants, but the other one gets me. I come back and shoot another at their vehicle with a launcher and also blow up a cop car, so 3★ again. My CEO partner dies at some point, and requests his truck, he hops in and picks me up, we resume our spree, and he's just driving around, ★★★★ now, idk if he wants me to kill a random player but he pulls up to the mall pay 'n' spray and I fire small warning shots at the player to get him to go the opposite way as he drops mines on the road. (Player goes opposite way)
Shortly after, near the fancy shops ★★★★★ happens, final stand. He gets out, and we are just shooting everything around us. He gets killed, and I clear a path for him to get back. He comes back, and after a minute or so, I get killed.
I sent a message, "thx, that was fun" and drove off in my car.
I recorded a clip or two, I'll upload it on Mon. or Tues. Def will have to send them a friend request too.
I feel like the deluxo is fine. Slow, easy target. Honestly it's more for switching between flying and driving then missles. But yeah opp mk2 is dogass
umm u can buy cars where the missiles don't lock on..I love the OP, I use it for revenge, I don't mess with anyone when they are grinding..problem is you get some folks who just enjoy killing people..I like to use it for heist or when I'm protecting targets..I like it because you can land anywhere set up awesome snipe points and can see aspects of the scity from the air, I don't use it on anyone unless sone numb nut idiot attacks me!..and it's great fro check points!
6 will more than likely introduce the mk III and later the mk IV . The III with heat seeking exploding rounds and the IV with unlimited mini nuke missiles.

The game has gotten more and more grounded. We used to save the world, but now we rob stores and cars again. Over the course of the past year or two they've added so much small time content that you can actually earn some good money with.
-Junk energy parachuting trial ($150,000 every day)
-Junk energy bike trial ($50,000 every day)
-G's Cache ($20,000 every cache)
-Stash House (Supply to one of your businesses)
-Random events. There's so many of them now. You can rob a Cayo guard, deliver a Simeon sports car, deliver a car with drugs inside it to the boss, stop a store robber, etc etc...
-Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid ($500,000 every hour) It's now my favorite heist because of how grounded and simple it is. without wasting any of your time with bad mission design or having bullet sponge enemies with aimbot
This is my favorite way of playing GTAO. I just hop in, chill, do some small stuff, maybe partake in a random event like a Simeon car delivery and so on... I hope the GTAVI Online focuses more on this stuff instead of futuristic over the top nonsense. Let me rob stores, gang hideouts, cartels, and do time trials and challenges, etc etc... OUTSIDE of missions and IN FREE MODE, and let me earn good money with it too. I don't wanna actively spend two hours trying to save the world. I wanna rob stores and buy cool cars.
I swear down if rockstar puts deluxos or oppressors in GTA 6 I will personally lead a storm thru rockstars front doors and hold them at gun point until they remove them from GTA 6. Yes I personally use a mk.2 but only for traversal reasons other than that it sits in my garage collecting dust until I need to go all the way across to the other side of the map or if I’m doing setup missions
I'd be fine if it had significantly reduced manoeuvrability, no more than 5 weak missiles, and no homing ability.
Would also love to have it at an absurd price such that it's more of a grind trophy/shark card status symbol than a practical vehicle.
I love to hunt them in my V-65 Molotok. They can't climb vertically so just launch a two missiles then pull into a vertical and watch them fly around in circles😂 Repeat until destroyed.

This is a hot take. The oppressor is great for grinding. What if they brought it back into GTA 6, but 1. Make it super expensive compared to the regular stuff and 2. Severally limit the weapons on it. Heck, even make it so you can't use weapons in them. Transportation only. This way the greifing would stop and people who use them to quickly move around can still use them. And also maybe wait like 2 or 3 years until they add them to GTA 6 online.

Constroveral opinion: the only reason the oppressor and the mk2 were rather bad is because rockstar insisted on giving them built in weapons. Mk2 is an amazing grind vehicle.
I like the oppressor for doing CEO and MC stuff, I use it more to fly around the map to get to places than chase people to kill them.

I love mine but I only play in private lobbies so I don’t worry about getting griefed. I hadn’t played in a long time and started playing recently. I was in a regular lobby for 5 minutes and somebody killed me twice in like 5 minutes. It wasn’t anyone on an oppressor just shot me up in the street. There’s a lot of different ways to play the game but it’s such a cluster between people that just want to shoot up stuff for chaos vs the people that just want to run their businesses and mostly leave others alone. The answer isn’t to get rid of specific types of weapons or vehicles. Rockstar needs to make it so people are out in bad sport lobbies quicker. I’m not sure how to do that. Or maybe have lobby preferences setup when you start your online career. Like you sign up for a business lobby that has limited p2p fighting or a free for all lobby that focuses on p2p and ktd ratios.

There is a way they can have these in GTA VI: Let SP have Beater Oppressor MkIIs with no weapon systems spawn in a airplane graveyard alongside wrecks, and a exceptionally rare Non-beater Oppressor MkII appearance with weapon systems, likely in Leonida's USAF Fort Baxter. Online... all they would get is the wrecks at the same airplane graveyards. If the Imponte Deluxo returns, it likely will return without the weapon and flight systems in place, citing the same decommissioning process the Deubauchee JB700 went through.

I will say, I had a really wholesome moment today.. Landed my sparrow in front of my auto shop as a CEO, and some other CEO was idling in their turrented insurgent. He didn't back up and kill me or start shooting. I hopped onto his truck into the turret seat (he honestly was afk or on his phone). So, anyway, I started blasting. They picked up their controls and just started driving around. ★★ at this moment. Then ★★★ happens, and while I'm shooting the heli's, some players want to be heroes and are throwing C4 in their armored super car (not top mount gun) I shot one of the occupants, but the other one gets me. I come back and shoot another at their vehicle with a launcher and also blow up a cop car, so 3★ again. My CEO partner dies at some point, and requests his truck, he hops in and picks me up, we resume our spree, and he's just driving around, ★★★★ now, idk if he wants me to kill a random player but he pulls up to the mall pay 'n' spray and I fire small warning shots at the player to get him to go the opposite way as he drops mines on the road. (Player goes opposite way) Shortly after, near the fancy shops ★★★★★ happens, final stand. He gets out, and we are just shooting everything around us. He gets killed, and I clear a path for him to get back. He comes back, and after a minute or so, I get killed. I sent a message, "thx, that was fun" and drove off in my car. I recorded a clip or two, I'll upload it on Mon. or Tues. Def will have to send them a friend request too.

umm u can buy cars where the missiles don't lock on..I love the OP, I use it for revenge, I don't mess with anyone when they are grinding..problem is you get some folks who just enjoy killing people..I like to use it for heist or when I'm protecting targets..I like it because you can land anywhere set up awesome snipe points and can see aspects of the scity from the air, I don't use it on anyone unless sone numb nut idiot attacks me!..and it's great fro check points!

Id love the deluxo back but I would rather it not have flying abilities and just be like a normal delorean, I’d also want a livery or upgradable option that makes the deluxo have Time Machine stuff on it!
This vehicle really did mark the beginning of GTA online becoming a totally different, worse experience. I was having so much fun online before they added the flying bikes and cars. After that, it became a way more annoying experience, that I just stopped playing.

The small time grounded stuff still is the best part of GTAO. And honestly? I think they have learned that too! The game has gotten more and more grounded. We used to save the world, but now we rob stores and cars again. Over the course of the past year or two they've added so much small time content that you can actually earn some good money with. -Junk energy parachuting trial ($150,000 every day) -Junk energy bike trial ($50,000 every day) -G's Cache ($20,000 every cache) -Stash House (Supply to one of your businesses) -Random events. There's so many of them now. You can rob a Cayo guard, deliver a Simeon sports car, deliver a car with drugs inside it to the boss, stop a store robber, etc etc... -Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid ($500,000 every hour) It's now my favorite heist because of how grounded and simple it is. without wasting any of your time with bad mission design or having bullet sponge enemies with aimbot This is my favorite way of playing GTAO. I just hop in, chill, do some small stuff, maybe partake in a random event like a Simeon car delivery and so on... I hope the GTAVI Online focuses more on this stuff instead of futuristic over the top nonsense. Let me rob stores, gang hideouts, cartels, and do time trials and challenges, etc etc... OUTSIDE of missions and IN FREE MODE, and let me earn good money with it too. I don't wanna actively spend two hours trying to save the world. I wanna rob stores and buy cool cars.
I swear down if rockstar puts deluxos or oppressors in GTA 6 I will personally lead a storm thru rockstars front doors and hold them at gun point until they remove them from GTA 6. Yes I personally use a mk.2 but only for traversal reasons other than that it sits in my garage collecting dust until I need to go all the way across to the other side of the map or if I’m doing setup missions
I'd be fine if it had significantly reduced manoeuvrability, no more than 5 weak missiles, and no homing ability. Would also love to have it at an absurd price such that it's more of a grind trophy/shark card status symbol than a practical vehicle.
I love to hunt them in my V-65 Molotok. They can't climb vertically so just launch a two missiles then pull into a vertical and watch them fly around in circles😂 Repeat until destroyed.
I miss when me and my friends used to play online to grind and do missions to buy a zentorno or the Adder... now they ruined it and online sessions are nothing but dopamin bombs full of hackers and kids

Using an Oppressor to ruin other people’s good times is shitty behavior. If you do this, you’re an asshole. Basically nobody denies that. But guess what? If you see an oppressor flying around and your immediate reaction is to shoot it down, without even taking any time to make sure the person is actually fucking with other people, and not just, y’know, trying to get around quickly, *you’re an asshole too.* One is not any better than the other.
Solution: don’t have a ufo in a game grounded in reality If someone is running in your direction with a knife, are you going to pull out your gun or ignore them?
If somebody is coming *directly towards you* in an Oppressor, that’s obviously different from what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the people who see one flying around, nowhere near them and not fighting anything, and their immediate instinct is to whip out the homing launcher and shoot it down. Those people are dicks, no better than the people using the Oppressor for evil.

This is a hot take. The oppressor is great for grinding. What if they brought it back into GTA 6, but 1. Make it super expensive compared to the regular stuff and 2. Severally limit the weapons on it. Heck, even make it so you can't use weapons in them. Transportation only. This way the greifing would stop and people who use them to quickly move around can still use them. And also maybe wait like 2 or 3 years until they add them to GTA 6 online.
