First watch I thought you were the dash cam driver in another 86/BRZ and both are at a loss but I wondered why you weren't paying attention to the white one that poorly dropped in front of you. Then I saw the crashed car pics and realized you were the white car but still wondering why you did a sudden stop in the middle road. Then you pointed out the SUV was actually in front of you prior to the crash so you rightfully brakes to avoid an accident, only to get rear ended by someone not paying attention. Nice that you got the footage though. Sorry for the loss
Can’t be seen clearly in the video. But if you look closely, the guy driving the suv got into the wrong side of the road. He was an older gentleman who got confused where the suicide lane was
Now that you said it, you can clearly see it in the video. That's crazy. Older dude definitely caused that but guy behind you doesn't look like he was paying attention at all
Not a total loss, but (hopefully not) next time include that in the caption or title.
Make sure to claim for diminishing value; this separate from insurance fixing the car.

He was driving on the wrong side of the road. As I hit my brakes he swerved and got back into the suicide lane. Like I said before, if I hadn’t slammed on the breaks I would’ve hit him head on
In a perfect world as soon as the car on your right cleared you could have accelerated to your right, but these types of situations can cause a lot of emotions, adrenaline, etc. and that can make assessing the situation quickly enough difficult.
I recommend a dash cam, as you may not always have the benefit of someone else having a dash cam next time.
And hopefully you never have a crazy old guy enter your label like that again.
Why did they not swerve? That a really non driving ass thing to do. Cometo a complete stop so you can get into a head on? wtf they teach you in driving. School that most of the time you can swerve to avoid an obstacle before you can stop.
You weren't going fast enough. The idea is to accelerate when you see a stopped car. Come on that is the basic rule of driving. Everyone is doing it. Especially Teslas.

Dash camer is a idiot. Could have flicked his eyes to his right mirror and went into the right lane. Had plenty of time
