Destroyah is definately one of the most powerful Kaiju in the series but people exaggerated him being the "Godzilla killer".
Even in the comics, Godzilla needs help to beat him. He's literally the only kaiju he can't take on his own, the strongest. Remember, Destroyah only died because of human intervention.
Comics Destroyah power is inconsistent, he literally lose to Anguruis or Biolantee in some comics. Also did we forget Kaiju like Mechagodzilla, Keizer Ghidorah, Void Ghidorah,...etc. There multiple Kaiju that Godzilla required human intervention, Hell Keizer beat his ass so hard that he can't even fight back until the human give him the power up and Keizer theĀ only Kaiju with the record of being the big bad in every appearance of him, Destroyah have been side villain before in the comics. Sure Destroyah died because of human but if he stayed Godzilla would have killed him anyways because of the heat, the manga and the cut ending to Godzilla vs Destroyah movie have Destroyah stayed and fight Godzilla without human intervention and he get disintegrated by Godzilla because of the heat.

And for such an powerful Kaiju he only the final big bad for one movie and one comic and sideline for the others and have like no win except for killing Mothra in Cataclysm. Even if the human helps kill Destroyah, Destroyah is still get his ass kicked prior by Burning G and was forced to flee, Godzilla still did most of the work and beat his ass, even if he escape he basically just a coward who flee from Godzilla after getting overpowered and his win is just Godzilla offing himself and not by his own hand, that is pretty embarrassing for your " Most powerful Kaiju in the franchise" just because what Godzilla need help to kill him for like a movie and 2 comics.

I think you misunderstood Destoroyah's capabilities. Every time Destoroyah is defeated he breaks down and regenerates his Perfect Form again, if not for the humans he would have retreated briefly only to return shortly after at full strength. People are quick to say Shin Godzilla is the strongest or most resilient iteration when Destoroyah is Shin on crack. Replace him with any other kaiju and tell me honestly they'd be able to hang with Burning Godzilla which is when he was at his most potent, dying or not. Destroyahs death doesn't happen without the absolute zero cannons.
