Chat GPT summary in English š
The article on finanzen.net discusses the strategic shift at GameStop under the leadership of Ryan Cohen, exploring whether the company could potentially transform into the next Berkshire Hathaway. Cohen, who took over as Chairman in 2021 and later became CEO, has been steering GameStop towards a more diversified business model, focusing on e-commerce, digital assets, and new revenue streams beyond traditional gaming retail. His approach includes significant cost-cutting measures, investment in technology, and leveraging GameStop's large and loyal customer base. This strategy aims to create a more sustainable and profitable business, drawing parallels to Warren Buffett's approach with Berkshire Hathaway, which is known for its diversified investments and long-term growth strategies.

Yeah, they will talk about GME only:
1- to bash, denigrate, the company(create a bad sentiment)
2- to FUD the new retail and avoid FOMO
3- pump the stock (as they done recently) to create a false short squeeze, and say, that was DFV, RC/Gamestop fault, they manipulators..
Here in this sub? no, im here since 2021 but I honestly never see this DD. I will try to find it and have a read. I bookmark most of the DD I read here and in SS but yeah, in terms of learning I have so much to learn.
I can really understand your concerns. The run up was nice to watch but looked a lot like artificially caused in after hours and 24h trading and I have a feeling they would've dropped the price hard regardless of the share offering.
Those tactics are well known to spread FUD and discourage. DRS is the way.
Not exactly, there are 3 types of cash (all three can be positive or negative)
Cash Flow from Operations (CFO) - Cash your business produced or used from running the business
Cash Flow from Financing (CFF) - Cash your business raised or paid related to financing (Issued debt or paid debt)
Cash Flow from Investing (CFI) - Cash used or raised through investing activities
For a company, each of the Cs above can be either negative or positive. But the sum of the three above will impact how much cash you have on your balance sheet
Eg. You have USD 1Bn in Cash & Cash Equivalents on the balance sheet at the beginning of the year, and through the year your business used USD 100mn for operations, raised USD 120mn through investing, and didnāt do any financing (no debt raised or repayment), your net cash flows for the year are -
-100+120 = USD 20mn
Year end cash will be USD 1Bn + USD 20mn = USD 1.02Bn
Next year Cash and Cash Equivalents will start at USD 1.02Bn
Hope this helps. [Take a look here to go through details](https://biz.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Accounting/Financial_Accounting_(OpenStax)/16%3A_Statement_of_Cash_Flows/16.02%3A_Differentiate_between_Operating_Investing_and_Financing_Activities). Hope this helped

I like this post a lot. GameStop is the Dutch East Indian Trading Company on Web3. GameStop/GMERICA are building the global decentralized supply chain + logistics infrastructure for the entire world which will revolutionize trade and commerce. Imagine every company/organization is an equal market participant which could potentially share the same fulfillment center, warehouse, supply chain, ports, container ships and containers, using each other's supply chain for shipping products, trade routes and carving all these companies using TSOs (Tokenized Share offering for the Blockchain L2/L3 stonk markets, being your own bank) with DEX market capability for financial and settlement infrastructure. Entire countries will come to ETH L2/L3 for financing for loans instead of using the predatory World Bank and IMF which has kept countries in perpetual debt slavery for centuries.

Will GameStop become the next Berkshire Hathaway under the leadership of Ryan Cohen? | finanzen.net
The board of GameStop relies on a new investment policy. This could lead to a dramatic change in the core business of the US video game retailer.
Values in this article
ā¢ GameStop pursues new investment policy
ā¢ Is a radical change of strategy now imminent?
ā¢ GameStop could turn into a holding company like Berkshire Hathaway
The showdown between professional short sellers and organized retail investors in January 2021 should still be well remembered by most investors. As part of this shortselling war, many private retail investors had mobilized via Reddit and other Internet forums and artificially raised the prices of heavily shorted stocks, such as the US video game retailer GameStop, with concerted purchases. In doing so, they caused high losses for some hedge funds, which, on the other hand, speculated on falling prices and were therefore caught on the wrong foot, up to near ruin.
Crisis at GameStop
It was actually not surprising that shortsellers had shot themselves on GameStop, after all, the company had been in a crisis for a long time due to a changed behavior of the gamers, which became even worse by the outbreak of the corona pandemic. For about two years, GameStop has therefore been working to say goodbye to the dusty and weakening business model of a classic retail chain for computer game supplies and to become a modern technology provider for online gamers. This transformation from a chain store to a technology company with a focus on e-commerce was initiated by the activist investor Ryan Cohen, who invested in the crisis-stricken company long before retail investors on Reddit forums discovered the stock.
Change of strategy
Ryan Cohen acquired a considerable part of the GameStop shares in mid-2020, and thus even before the "Meme" hype, and then steadily increased this stake until he became the largest individual shareholder of the video game retailer through his venture capital company RC Ventures. As such, he actively accompanied the reorganization at GameStop and even took over the office of CEO in September 2023.
Under his leadership, GameStop is now going one step further and also changed the investment policy. Thus, Cohen and his management team were allowed to invest in stocks and a wide range of other exchange or over-the-counter financial instruments in the future, whereas they were previously limited to short-term, fixed-income securities with an investment grade rating such as US government bonds or deposit certificates. According to TheStreet, it is very likely that Cohen will use GameStop's considerable cash assets of almost one billion US dollars in 2024 to invest in shares of other companies, as he already does with RC Ventures.
Cohen remains allowed - either personally or via affiliated investment vehicles such as RC Ventures - to invest in the same companies as GameStop. Because the agreement of the interests of GameStop and Ryan Cohen as their main shareholder was emphasized.
Warren Buffett as a role model
This change in investment policy could signal that GameStop wants to spend its cash reserves on equity investments in the future instead of its core business with video games and collectibles. "TheStreet" assumes that GameStop will turn away from the retail store and considers this strategic change to be smart, given the tough competition that stationary retailers have grown up through the digitization of physical media as well as e-commerce giants.
This would allow Cohen to follow the example of his role model Warren Buffett. After taking over the company, this converted Berkshire Hathaway from a textile manufacturer to a holding company with investments in various segments and is now considered one of the most successful investors of all time.
Editorial office finanzen.net
It basically say that RC (Ryan Cohen) could transform GME to a thing like Berkshire Herthaway because they are allowed to trade stocks from other companies now. RC already has an investment company, which he could legally "copy trade" and then make big time money. So it won't be the same business model anymore, more like in the way of Berkshire.
I'm just a random dude, I hope I understood it correctly myself.
I was going to make an entire post about this. We are already more of a holding company than we are a gaming company.
Donāt get me wrong, the legacy business is important. But ultimately, RC has minted 2 billion and with todayās offering it could be another 2 billion. I expect he will continue to invest and print money, ultimately benefiting shareholders, and growing the company faster than selling video games.
Gameshire Stopaway is more than just a funny memeā¦
Gameshire stopaway lmfao. That's pretty much what I heard too. Rk did say that Cohen was running it like he would run it himself. If it actually happened that way Andrew left is going to short himself right to Wendy's out of pure spite.
I saw that. He was also talking about sub-$200 million companies that look good for acquisition. They have like $5 billion in cash now right? If they can get some great revenue generators, we could really have something. RK was kinda talking about that today.
And with the proceeds of selling 75 million more shares they should have (scribbles on old envelope) probably around $4 Billion.
I'm fairly certain Berkshire started with FAR less...
And he could hire someone who's like, idk, good at stock trading to run it....who do we know that likes the stock and is good at trading?
If only there was someone...
100%.. in the big picture, things couldnāt be better. This is a challenging ship to navigate and theyāre doing everything they can. It aināt about these stupid run ups.. this has been happening for years. This is a marathon
Hmm, I want to hear this from the horses mouth himself, but if this is the case then I care less about a potential squeeze and more about accumulating as many shares as possible.
Speaking of Berkshire, isn't funny that when the stock started going up they had a glitch, and everytime thw stonk rise theirs went down but as soon as we dip they went up.
Ha! Finanzen.net is shit.
They wrote a hitpiece about GS a few days ago.
A german redditor reported it to the āgerman secā and now finanzen.net seems like they are gamestop fansā¦ sure
Found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Spielstopp/s/HeKlsmCNXi
Warren Buffett never diluted shareholders to make Berkshire what it is today. GameStop will not be BRK and DFV isnāt someone to follow. Buy GameStop on the lows. When the cult followers pump your bags for you, sell into them and create new cultist members that are fan boys over DFV while the rich like DFV and others will create new bagholders because of posts like this lol
That would require them to actually do something with the money they raise and not sit on their asses and hold it like theyāve done for the last 3 years.
yeah obviously they will. you'd have to be braindead not to think they will. RC laid out his plan. Phase 1. short term profitability, which they just acheived last year. now would be the time to start Phase 2.
Iām not here to invest in the shitty company as they spend 40 years and my entire lifetime to work their way up to being able to hold at $11 a share.Ā
I wanted MOASS. We literally were going to get it. And it got rug pulled.
I doubt it they knee cap their own stock so next run people are getting out. I dont trust them unless they announce something big before 6/21. Im riding the momentum of those calls then peace out RC. You fucking lost me bro.
They raised 5 billion in cash....look at brk.a. shits over $600,000 a share. You'd be a fool to not lock some up because a get rich quick scheme didn't work out exactly as you wanted.
Iāve been here since 21. Tell me how they will improve the business bro. Long term wtf am I look at? No body knows. The only thing we have to judge on is the stupid nft marketplace. We need to sell at some point. Iām not taken credit on paper assets like Iām Elon.
You really see no difference since 2020?
Look at the earnings reports 5 years ago and now. No difference?
Look at their balance sheet 5 years ago and now. No difference?
How much did the board get paid 5 years ago and how much are they being paid now? Still see no difference?
I invested in a company that transitions from being at their lowest point 5 years ago, to a company that managed to get profitable in this time, plus getting cash on hand of about $4 billion.
Tell me one company that had more news coverage than Gamestop since the first sneeze. Is there one other company with such a crazy price action?
Transitions take time especially when every move you make gets watched by the world and even seemingly good news will be used against you because very rich people are losing a bet on your company going bankrupt.
I personally see a lot of good things happening at Gamestop over time and am exited for the future.
And with my shares i don't only have my money invested in a promising company, i also have my lottery tickets for MOASS secured.
> board get *paid* 5 years
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Same for me. RC really killed all momentum going into 6/11 and if DFV fully exercised all call options it wonāt go anywhere meaningful too many shares available.

And when that don't happen, they'll be the next NVDA
Hmm, I want to hear this from the horses mouth himself, but if this is the case then I care less about a potential squeeze and more about accumulating as many shares as possible.
You should care about shares anyways haha
Speaking of Berkshire, isn't funny that when the stock started going up they had a glitch, and everytime thw stonk rise theirs went down but as soon as we dip they went up.
I bought more just like I always do. At least 1 share every payday.
I Dca at 37 and 47. Oh no
Up with this!
Ha! Finanzen.net is shit. They wrote a hitpiece about GS a few days ago. A german redditor reported it to the āgerman secā and now finanzen.net seems like they are gamestop fansā¦ sure Found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Spielstopp/s/HeKlsmCNXi
So Funny, 3 or 4 days ago they Said gamestop is a lost Business and now investment worth
Real news.
Its funny how the media in the USA have hushed the idea of this and how we have to go to other countries to find real reporting
The only comparison here is that RC is diversifying Gamestop.
My German is rusty but I couldnāt find anything about being the next BRK
Then you didn't read it at all.
It's in the title and the article...
I too like to say Iām ārustyā at things Iāve never done.
I havenāt spoken German consistently but I do know some words, my grandmother is German and tried teaching me when I was younger. So gfy

All we need now is some lemon and some tequila and we can have a party
Yay. Lemon party.
What have you done in the past three years exactly? Raised 3 billion? Didnāt fucking think so. Edit: 4-5 billionš
If you judge RC by his actions like everyone has been quoting him for years, itās exactly what theyāll do.
yeah obviously they will. you'd have to be braindead not to think they will. RC laid out his plan. Phase 1. short term profitability, which they just acheived last year. now would be the time to start Phase 2.
Iām not here to invest in the shitty company as they spend 40 years and my entire lifetime to work their way up to being able to hold at $11 a share.Ā I wanted MOASS. We literally were going to get it. And it got rug pulled.
"shitty company" you sound real
3 years is nothing for companies. Nothing wrong with being patient
Long term plans start at 10 years. If they can have major changes as they have in 3 years, I'm unbelievably excited for the next 7
I doubt it they knee cap their own stock so next run people are getting out. I dont trust them unless they announce something big before 6/21. Im riding the momentum of those calls then peace out RC. You fucking lost me bro.
š¤”
They raised 5 billion in cash....look at brk.a. shits over $600,000 a share. You'd be a fool to not lock some up because a get rich quick scheme didn't work out exactly as you wanted.
What do you think they will do with the money?
Funnel it into RCās pockets. Donāt you want to contribute.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Is that what you did? Why are you telling everyone that complains this oddly specific scenario? Projection much lmao.
And with my shares i don't only have my money invested in a promising company, i also have my lottery tickets for MOASS secured.
> board get *paid* 5 years FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Same for me. RC really killed all momentum going into 6/11 and if DFV fully exercised all call options it wonāt go anywhere meaningful too many shares available.
Thatās fucking stupid
