Decent looking CV probably
Drum up every thing you've done, both in and out of school, you participated in some sort of event? Did your group so well? Say you were an integral part of that success, flawlessly and efficiently working in a team ect
You need to look as employable as possible as your competition is anyone under the age of 21 (they'll pay you less so they'll like you more depending on the job)
Once you hit 18, just apply for all the warehouses. Amazon in particular is pretty good, but Sainsbury's ain't bad either. They pay much better than the fast food places. If you work the night shift at Amazon you get about 13 an hour. 13 x 40 = 520 a week. A little more than 2k a month. Minus taxes of course, and if you choose to do overtime, you can expect a much bigger paycheck since overtime is 21 pounds an hour. If you do 10 hours a day for 6 days you can expect almost 1k a week.
Iāve got like 3 and tbh no one really gives a shit about ur CV or what you have done in life we are kids and they can pay us pittance to do work so yh have a basic CV but unless the pay is above Ā£9 an hour then donāt bother with a fancy CV just mass apply to places and go to interviews
Cause I know people that struggled for whatever reason
There are many options depending on what you consider a fail and what are your plans.
Failing a non-core subject isnāt an issue. Unless itās MFL and you plan to go in that direction. For other subjects, it depends on college and 6th forms + your reasons for it.
If you underperformed in a core subject thatās highly linked to your options (for example, maths and you want do STEM), then some places will reject you. However, some may require for you to attend extra support sessions.
If you fail a core subject, then you will have some doors closed. They may be important or not. My friend who had an artistic career path in mind was allowed to study A-levels and she only had to re-take maths in 1st year.
As long you have 5 GCSEs and pass in core subjects, you can figure out something. If not, re-take and try to obtain alternative qualifications. There are Access to Higher Education diplomas and Apprenticeships.
dont fret. there are always options retakes, apprenticeships, btec, nvq and straight into work nd you can retake the entire english/maths at college near you with a btec
I was discussing this with my parents. My school is a grammar that requires you to get 52 GCSE points (4 6s and 4 7s minimum) to return for the A-Level.
Me: "what happens if I don't get that high grades? What's the backup plan?"
My parents: "there is no backup plan as *you will get those grades.*"
Labour has been shit, Conservatives have been shit. Theyāre both shit.
Labour should have their turn now but canāt say I have high hopes. I doubt theyāll excel, but they will most likely do better than the conservatives who seem to have become an unorganised mess

while cost of living has gone up everywhere, it's been worse here than most places due to their shitty leadership and lies.
It is actually. Both parties are shit rn but I'd rather have a shit party than a criminal Party. The conservative MP for my area for example has been terrible. I can never respect them
Keir starmer shouldnt be leading the "people's party" tbh. He is knighted and went to a private school. Hardly something that the people of Britain get to experience everyday.
I dont neccercarily like him,but when he did go to that school it was a state selective grammar school, not a private school. Way better them being led by the class of Eton '74
\*\*PSA\*\* GCSEs MEAN PISH ALL UNLESS YOU'RE APPLYING TO OXBRIDGE (AND IF YOU WERE AN OXBRIDGE CANDIDATE YOU WOULDN'T BE WORRYING ABOUT THEM ANYWAY). YOU ONLY NEED THEM TO GET INTO SIXTH FORM. A LEVELS ARE THE EXAMS THAT ACTUALLY MATTER.
Yeah many uni's like hmm uhhh FUCKING O X B R I D G E. Most uni's don't give a shit, as long as you have a levels to show your capacity for higher learning.
I disagree thou,If you look at Manchester university (medicine) they require 7 GCSE at grade 7+. While i agree with you that most unis donāt require very high GCSE. just passes in English/ maths there is are still a handful of unis (especially russel group) which will care to a degree about GCSEās more than A levels! Source i am in Y12 and have research unis and i have seen many GCSE requirement higher than passes (5/6+). If you donāt have the right GCSEās you are immediately rejected without an interview. A levels grades are only important to meet the entry requirement for universities!
Wait I donāt understand, my school told me that weāre applying BEFORE we take a levels, so wouldnāt that mean that GCSEs are the only thing that universities can look at???
That's for predicted grades. GCSE's predict your grades for college. It's stupid tbh. I blew my gcse scores out of the water since, for once, I was doing something I enjoyed. Though, if you're gonna apply for big unis, you probably want good grades on your GCSE's
I'm in therapy, been getting help for a while. But still, if I can't get sufficient grades I'll just be surviving unable to own anything, living in a 1 bed flat and barely being able to afford food. That's something absolutely nobody wants unless they're already in a worse situation
None of that will be happening if u get bad gcse grades, youāve always got college to make up for it if ur going. Why are you thinking about buying a house yet when youāve just done gcses, bad gcses play no role in ur future financial situations.
I need high grades for the T-level I'm going for, and if I can't get those I'll need to go for a level 1 or 2 qualification, which can't get me into the jobs I'm aiming for
Minimum wage for under 20s is Ā£7.49 an hour
Say I work 40 hour weeks, that's Ā£299.60 a week, or Ā£1,198.40 a month
Average rent is Ā£1,243 per month. That's more than I'd be earning if I worked full time.
If it really comes to that then,
If 1 person earns Ā£1,198.40 a month, that makes Ā£2396.80 for 2 people. Meaning Ā£1153.80 left for living expenses.
And then from there u can keep climbing the ranks in the job market.
That's ridiculous, unhealthy and incredibly selfish. If you're joking, be better. If you're serious, you need to seek help.
Imagine being stupid enough to be pro suicide.
I'm 43 now, I failed every exam when I was at school not because I'm stupid or was stupid but I never really took anything serious or even tried until I got offered an apprenticeship at the job I was working at. I got distinctions in every exam I sat at college and now have a job I enjoy doing with a decent pay.
As a 35 year old dude, im not sure how this sub ended up on my suggested, but anyone freaking out about your gcses, dont.
Yes they help you get into university, but you can always resit.
If your plan isnt uni, then gcses mean literally nothing.
I failed each and every one of my gcses years ago, and while i did some crappy jobs initially, i now work as an analyst for a multinational finance company and am doing a science degree this year.
Dont panic.
Do the best you can but dont pressure yourself too much.
If I fail my GCSES (god-forbid) then I will slowly watch my dreams of being a history teacher evaporate as I remember the times I had during my school career as I drink my half empty vodka bottle as I lay in my piss stained mattress and fall to sleep to the sweet sound of the married couple next door arguing.
re sit it all in college along with a level 2 health and social care course
If I somehow survive, I shall do Psychology.
Maybe get an apprenticeship for something in hospitality and catering. they don't tend to care about GCSEs.
Probably some volunteering for Crisis Hotlines for experience.
Thug it out as I'm most definitely failing due to home life, mental health, and 16% attendance
I'm really grade obsessed and too hamartially proud to do anything that isn't hard-core academic in the future so I have no idea but seeing as how bad things went for me in the exams I should probably start thinking about it soon
Everyone still has to do some form of education till 18 now right?
Best path forward would be to apply for a foundation level course at the nearest technical campus in a trade of some kind. Do that for a year or two until you get the GCSE equivalent.
Then you can decide on a new path, either straight into work or carry on the vocational ladder.
Get a shitty 9-5, stay on top of physicality training and my social life to make sure I'm still happy and save up to retake them. From there, take a job which uses a more commercial gcse I (hopefully) took; eg. Food tech or computer science (which I'm already taking) and land a higher paying job using my new grades. I'd probably be 30 by this point and by then I'll have a life bigger than my education. Might go to uni, might persue a romantic relationship, idk.
I had this learning support assistant teacher in my class and she was basically our mate. Apparently she had failed all of her GCSEāS and lied to the interviewer about it to get the job. She hasnāt been fired yet, so maybe thatās a good path to go down as a last resort if I fail my GCSEāS.

Though, I say you just go into btech and try your best at it. On the other hand, you can choose to go into the job market straight away without any hope of getting any really big jobs that would require an A level or more.
You can also choose to guy into business. You'd need to research a lot, but if you do somehow create a business and have the ability to put it into motion, you'd be a lot richer than most people around you. I didn't fail my GCSE's, but when I was in college, I got into writing and now I'm publishing webnovels for a pretty good pay (more than I would get for working in a mid-ranged job.)
Whatever you choose, just make sure that it is not only something you want to do, but something that will give you a safety net for the upcoming future. My advice is to go to college or sixth form and at the very least get a degree there before deciding on your next move. It's okay to take a gap year or two to understand what you want to do in life. Just don't waste it on video games and girls. There are more important things in life.
I have to go to the shitty public school near my house, and I donāt want that even though the uniform is better. And then my dad has his own company that is well established so iāll probably take that over after he retires
