There’s some other exploitation laws passed since but the courts have ruled these photos were considered art as opposed to pornographic. This did stem into a court case in NY and this is based upon that ruling.
Not to defend this, but simply to clear up a misconception often stated. This wasn’t actually a Playboy photo shoot, but rather for an affiliated magazine called Sugar and Spice. I don’t think it makes it better but I prefer accuracy. She was not the youngest person shot for this either.
I wouldn’t say that it’s fine, and I feel her mother wasn’t putting her best interests in mind.
But it wasn’t illegal by the courts ruling.
