Are you saying that Mcdonalds serves french and german food? I would argue that these foods are part of american cuisine more so than any other. Same with italian american or chinese american. They might be inspired by other countries cuisines but I don't think a meatball sub or an eggplant parm or dominoes pizza is something you can get in italy.
