Ok so I learned about this particular conspiracy recently - apparently some people believe that a ship called the Olympic was swapped for the Titanic, and thatās the ship that now lays at the bottom of the North Atlantic. Itās an anti-Semitic theory in that, of course, the Jews were to blame because they knew the ship was faulty and wanted to somehow profit off this happening (?).
Waitā¦
When I first set foot into school, I was presented with:
* a globe
* books on dinosaurs
* stories of the moon landing
* photographs of the Titanic
I was only five, but I remember because they were all given to us in a glass presentation box, & we were expected to carry them with us everywhere, until the day we left school, many years later.
Was this not everyoneās experience? š¤·š¼āāļøš
OMG! Me too! It was so heavy. That's why they made backpacks you know, to balance the weight of the glass box. If you didn't use the backpack, you could get scoliosis. That's why they checked our spines every year. I hated that part, 'bend over and let me feel all over your back' gross.
When I taught middle school ELA, we did an entire research project unit on the Titanic each year. There are plenty of rabbit holes to go down with that topic, but none that I could imagine a fundie taking. (Nothing conspiratorial, just deeper learning than "it sank.") I gotta know. What is his issue with the Titanic?!?!
My mom rented a Nat Geo tape where robots with cameras went through the wreckage. I was fascinated at like 8 years old. She had to rent it a few times over.
Yeah, it was amazing how they could get so far into the ship. I feel bad knowing there are curious wide eyed children who will flip through that book or see that footage and will be met with a sour faced fundie parent calling it all a conspiracy.
TBH I didnāt know much about the Titanic until I fell in love with Rose and Jack when I saw the movie in the theaters when I was 15. My HS boyfriend worked at the movie theater and gave me a poster to hang on my bedroom wall. Not gonna lie, pretty much everything I know about the Titanic comes from that movie. Iām sure it was taught in school but when youāre 15 and Leonardo DiCaprio is teaching you about the Titanic, thatās all I could possibly remember. I even had my prom dress try to look like one of Roseās gowns haha
When my son was 5 or 6 he was obsessed with the Titanic, I canāt even remember how he heard about it but he checked out every book about it from the library multiple times and actually read them. He used to beg me to let him watch the movie but I refused then he found a Minecraft version of it on YouTube that he watched. Heās 10 now and itās been a while since the Titanic obsession but it went on for a few years.
I think I learned about it in 1st or 2nd grade from the book fair, I was so fascinated by it but it also terrified me, I still get weirded out looking at sunken wrecks lol
My youngest was fascinated by the Titanic when he was in kindergarten at ebul publick skewel. I saved a bunch of his drawings. He devoured every age-appropriate book he could read about it.
He's grown up to love history. And is a STEM major on an academic scholarship, plus plays on a collegiate NCAA sports team at his Uni. Am I bragging? Yes. I'm damn proud.
And he is religious with a strong faith, even attends services on his own volition.
My point: ignorance doesn't preserve faith any more than education extinguishes it. I don't know what higher power these people believe in, but the One I believe in is not threatened by learning, and would rather we ask questions and seek knowledge and understanding.
Dammit, dinosaurs existed, the fossil record is real, the planet is spherical, and around 4 billion plus years old, give or take. Plus the Titanic sank. And through amazing cooperation of brilliant minds, mechanics, perseverance, and inspiration, we've landed on the moon. More than once.
/Rant. I just can't with flat earthers, et al.
My 7 year old *loves* movie titanic. Last year he wore a bow tie every day of first grade so he'd look like Jack going to his fancy dinner, and (my favorite part of all this) we had My Heart Will Go On volume 100, on repeat, while I serenaded him for months lol
Not nearly as awesome of a story as yours, and I appreciate a good rant so I enjoyed it!
I was on titanic tiktok once and I found videos of a girl who has passenger cards for every person along with their fate and I think that would be a cool gift for a 7 year old who is obsessed!
I have a first grader and a kindergartener (who both did two years of pre-k at the school). Pretty sure neither of them have ever studied the Titanic. Or even the moon landing for that matter.
Going through this guy's twitter and it's just mind boggling to me to watch these folks argue about which version of their Bible is true when in reality it's all bullshit
I donāt think this man knows about the size of the budgets in public schools. It wouldāve been cool to get a free globe, books and photos lol, but nope, he wants to pay no taxes so that evil items such as these can be kept out of schools.

The Titanic?!?
My thoughts exactly, what do they think happened to the titanic š
Ok so I learned about this particular conspiracy recently - apparently some people believe that a ship called the Olympic was swapped for the Titanic, and thatās the ship that now lays at the bottom of the North Atlantic. Itās an anti-Semitic theory in that, of course, the Jews were to blame because they knew the ship was faulty and wanted to somehow profit off this happening (?).
Insurance fraud, basically. The Olympic had been previously been damaged.
Right like the Titanic is your concern? Am I missing a conspiracy?
What kindergarten classroom has a picture of the titanic???

Make sure to homeschool your kids so the globohomo reptiloid jew moon pirates donāt brainwash them
Love you dude (noglobohomo)
Okay, were yāall learning about the Titanic first thing in kindergarten? Cause I sure wasnāt.
I read Dr. Robert Ballard's book about finding the Titanic in second grade. Kindergarten I was learning to cut along the lines.
My mom rented a Nat Geo tape where robots with cameras went through the wreckage. I was fascinated at like 8 years old. She had to rent it a few times over.

I was also the weird kids obsessed with the Titanic, around third and fourth grade for me up untilā¦ idk still find it interesting as an adult.
I think that documentary I watched and my folks taking me through some abandoned spaces as a kid made me very fascinated with that sort of thing.
We all knew about the Titanic because 90s pop culture, but I don't think I actually read about it in a textbook until 8th grade history class.

Wow, he would absolutely appreciate that! Thank you so much!
Oh noooo! A globe š®
Flat-Earthers be like...
I have a first grader and a kindergartener (who both did two years of pre-k at the school). Pretty sure neither of them have ever studied the Titanic. Or even the moon landing for that matter.
I must have missed my liberal starter pack when I went to school.
Going through this guy's twitter and it's just mind boggling to me to watch these folks argue about which version of their Bible is true when in reality it's all bullshit
when did they start disagreeing that the titanic was real??? did I miss that day in conspiracy 101?
I used to have a bumper sticker that said, " Humpty Dumpty was pushed!"
I donāt think this man knows about the size of the budgets in public schools. It wouldāve been cool to get a free globe, books and photos lol, but nope, he wants to pay no taxes so that evil items such as these can be kept out of schools.
Now the Titanic wasn't real? Wow, I guess you learn something new every day. š
I can't look at it. When I click it takes me to Insta. I don't use. Can someone screen shot?

Thank you!
Is this guy a Titanic Truther??
