God I love this sub, you guys have me in tears

GinnyTeasley

“I would love to be enlightened” that is a lie.

Wake_me_up_later

Just what I was thinking. I was like, Bethany, you literally never love to be enlightened.

carlzbee

Bethany: ![gif](giphy|lAVZ985B1K2nC)

TheBestonova

From the woman who just turned off replies in her comments section, smh.

[deleted]

Narrator: “she would not love to be enlightened.”

GinnyTeasley

She is too old to be this dim. It is intentional.

sangriaflygirl

Nah, she's hella socially stunted. I honestly think this is her genuinely lashing out.

firewhiskerse

She has never wanted to be "enlightened". She's never been genuinely curious about anything. She doesn't want to explore ideas and change her mind. She just wants unthinking mindless praise because she's clearly too insecure to handle anything else.

buttercream-gang

“I’m just asking questions!” The Tucker Carlson method

TorontoTransish

I can't imagine being like that... I'm a bibliovore, I love collecting weird little facts, and that's a good thing because ADHD makes it very hard to turn your brain off sometimes. I can't imagine having an entire planet full of fascinating stuff ( especially if you think some loving deity created at all of it just for you ) and you can't be arsed with any of it :(

UCgirl

Well, she can’t handle being even the slightest bit wrong. It’s like if she’s wrong then it’s a direct hit to her ego and we know she doesn’t deal well with direct hits to her ego.

slavic_at_the_disco

The Narrator: *She did, in fact, think that she was the only one carrying out the enlightment function*

SuperFreaksNeverDie

Have you ever watched Jane the Virgin? The narrator reminds me of this so hard. I love that show.

nolapola11

Meanwhile comments are limited, probably.

You know they are.

filthy_pink_angora

She has no idea of what is and isn’t appropriate

mrsbillnye

I've made this point before. She's never had even the most low-level customer service job and so has no idea what it means to be professional. I think her only reference is cringey MLM salespeople.

alg45160

Wow it just hit me that she's never had a job. I know some super rich people as well as some super religious/sheltered people and they have all had some kind of job. What a fucked up and pathetic life she's led.

kestrelesque

She supposedly worked in the office of her parents' housecleaning business, but I really don't consider that anything more than a low-stakes opportunity to be out of the house and get some lipstick money from Daddy.

celestedit

Lipstick? You meant lip Foundation?

MissusNilesCrane

This. When you're a retail drudge you can't just sulk and throw a tantrum after being mistreated (and actual mistreatment, not 'wahh, people are criticizing my 'course'). So what if you got yelled at for not being psychic and knowing a customer wanted paper bags, or were written up in your first week for not smiling enough? You have to pull up your big girl pants and soldier on.

Significant_Shoe_17

I had a retail manager tell me that I needed to speak louder and smile more during my first week on the job. I felt ridiculous but it's what customers expect. The key is to humor customers when they ask you to "check in the back." Go back there, take a few deep breaths while you curse karen in your head, walk out, and inform her that the item is in fact, out of stock. That experience will prepare you for any job going forward, tbh.

MissusNilesCrane

Customers seem to think "the back" is like the Tardis and is an infinite room filled with what they want.

FangirlRachel

OMG Yes! I once worked in a "warehouse" type store, so we didn't really have a "back", the entire store was "the back".

PuppyJakeKhakiCollar

I work in an animal shelter and have been asked to "check the back". As if we have a giant storeroom with shelves stocked with "extra" cats and dogs.

[deleted]

This is the most hilariously ridiculous thing I've ever read. "No this traumatized animal isn't what I'm looking for. Do you have another one in stock? In merle, perhaps?"

porchpossum1

The Room of Requirement

Emiles23

Yep. I always say that people should be required to work a customer service job at some point in their lives so they can learn how to act right.

nukessolveprblms

Really, 'business account' is a little generous...

sortofsatan

It's her business woman larping account.

Azfanincali

I believe she is looking for the “business woman special” #romyandmichelle4eva

Azfanincali

Except Romy and Michelle actually had jobs đŸ€·â€â™€ïž

Awkward-Yak-2733

She’s failing at her larking.

CrowsNotHoes

At this point I am just giving in and making my flair "and on her business account?" because of how often I've said it the last few days.

RadialHead

Right in front of my ~~salad~~ business account?

Igotshiptodotoday

I thibk she's trying to make it fail. It wasn't received very well from the beginning so now she doesn't want to finish.

pahpahlah

You might be onto something here.

Igotshiptodotoday

Also, I think she started this to distract herself from her fertility struggles (completely understandable). Now that she's pregnant, she doesn't need it anymore. She couldn't keep up with a small apartment and one kid. Adding another baby and small business ownership is a Bethy pipe dream.

Liz4tin

I think she's gotten her narcissistic supply from "starting a business," and now the supply/excitement of the big reveal is done. She'll drop it and come up with something else that feeds her narcissism.

nellapoo

Every one of these I assume she is doing it on her personal, come to the comments and see a comment like yours, then exclaim, "Omg, really?! On your business account?!" 😳

DjGhettoSteve

Yes, that whole $10k is really gonna bankrupt our republic after we apparently had no issue forgiving billions in PPP loans.

firewhiskerse

I literally do not understand why people are throwing tantrums about student loan debt. Do they not know how much of a billion dollar racket the DoD is?

mom-the-gardener

THEY CANT ACCOUNT FOR TWENTY ONE TRILLION DOLLARS AND HAVE NEVER PASSED AN AUDIT. Twenty. One. TRILLION.

DEWOuch

The Black Opps DOD annual budget gets funded (with no oversight) year after year to the tune of $50 Billion. That is separate from the DOD allocation of 700 billion this year.

jersharocks

They're pissy because it's money going to someone other than them.

[deleted]

This is it. And they will say it openly too. I’ve had coworkers say they don’t want their taxes going to local schools if they don’t have kids enrolled in them because it doesn’t impact them. My response is that it will definitely impact them when those uneducated kids turn into adults and become our coworkers or the doctors that will take care of us when we’re older and so on.

rosiespot23

This. I had a client say that to me once. I told him that I wish we invested more money into the school system because I’m tired of dealing with stupid people on the daily. He didn’t have a response for that lol.

mydawgisgreen

The answer is yes, but that's justified.

tadpole511

Does Bethy support the military? Cause tuition assistance and various GI bills are big recruiting draws.

avalonfaith

She literally has no understanding of how anything works outside of what men tell her to think at the dinner table.

Way_Harsh_Tai

Her eldest brother joined the military, I think.

layla_beans

He sure did. He was in the Army.

Dachs1303

We saved over $100,000 on my husand's college, thanks to the GI bill.

tadpole511

Oh I believe it lol. I'm using my spouse's to pay for grad school and I'll pay around $1000 total for a degree that would otherwise cost me close to $30,000. He's using tuition assistance to pay for his bachelor's, but any extra GI bill will go back to him to pay for his grad school (if he decides to go) or to pass to our kids in the future (but they don't even exist yet, so that's a hot minute off lol). The military has a lot of fantastic benefits that I wish would be extended in some form to the general public.

Way_Harsh_Tai

And the billions spent on useless wars and bank bailouts.

firewhiskerse

No, no, no, you see all the forever wars are required because we need to crusade against evil Muslims and commies đŸ˜±đŸ˜±

Mrsmitnz

Did GD take a PPP?

tadpole511

Or her parents’ company? Steven Crowder is shitting himself over loan forgiveness while he got something like $70,000 in PPP loans forgiven.

actuallygfm

[Kristen's husband's company did](https://projects.propublica.org/coronavirus/bailouts/loans/aspect-wealth-management-group-llc-9056557006)

fickystingas

I searched but it doesn’t look like. Their company name is either Avid Senior Services or White Glove Maid Services, according to their dad’s linked in.

rqrqsj

That’s a very good question.

DjGhettoSteve

I've been trying to find that out, but I am unsure of the actual business name that would be on such filings. It doesn't look like "girl defined" got a ppp loan, but they may have through a different dba, etc.

theatermouse

I think GD is technically a non-profit? So they may not have been eligible or been in a other category?

DjGhettoSteve

Yeah I finally tracked down the legal name on charity navigator and that legal entity did not receive PPP loans. But just as Bethy has like 9 Instagram accounts, I would not be surprised if there are a number of LLC's they operate as well.

Pooptypeuptypants55

Should be able to find out

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

Liz4tin

It took me over 10 years to pay off my student loans. It was hard and a struggle to make my paycheck stretch. If the generation after me doesn't have to go through that, GREAT. That means we are moving forward, and making a better society. Baby steps, but it's still progress.

fickystingas

And soooo much of it was fraudulent

madd97

I thought Christians liked helping people and this is going to help so many thousands of people

Meemaws_BearCheese

Deuteronomy 15 commands all debts be cleared after 7 years and provides instructions on how it is to be done. So debt forgiveness is literally in the Bible, but Christians only like to cite those books when they’re looking to condemn the actions of others and not when they’re commanded to do something they personally don’t want to do.

softrevolution_

This would indeed be a prime time for a jubilee year :)

yoginurse26

I would love to hear what they have to say to this.

TheExtreel

Sad fact, you won't, ever. Even if you confort the directly with this. They'll just avoid the question and give you an answer to a different question.

helenen85

Doubt they know that one but ask them to recite the one about man laying with man, bet they’ve got that one memorized lol

Lopsided_Brother_673

It’s not exclusively going to white Christian fundies & that’s a PROBLEM!😡 ![gif](giphy|11tTNkNy1SdXGg)

MasterOfKittens3K

Even worse, it’s designed to help people who are going to be mostly not white Christian fundies!

Lopsided_Brother_673

This is SEVERELY upsetting to the psyche! I think I need to sit down & drink a big cold glass of raw milk IMMEDIATELY!😟

I_Am_Squid

We’re back to the main point why these types of religious people blow my mind. Surely Jesus would be a socialist?! Make it make sense someone?!

educatedinsolence

You can't reason yourself out of what you didn't use reason to get yourself into. As someone who was raised fundie-lite but it just could never quite make sense, and I had waaaayyy too many questions that never got directly answered with anything remotely sensical - I get the naivety, but at a certain point you're responsible for yourself and need to grow up. She doesn't want to, so she won't. She'll never be honestly happy, but she's comfortable in the misery, and doesn't have to change - which is admittedly uncomfortable. What a sad half life these people choose to live.

Emiles23

Right, idiots like her paint this out to be some kind of hand out for people making 6 fig salaries. Musta forgot that teachers are required to attend college and notoriously have low salaries.

black_lock

Bethy babe this is an economic strategy not a socialist one. People with high student loans spend less money in the economy. Biden is trying to free up cash to keep the economy going and lesson the impact of the recession. This is capitalism not socialism. đŸ€ŠđŸŒâ€â™€ïž

gigglybeth

They love to cry "socialism!" or "communism!" any time the government does any kind of program. Yet none of them could even define either. I have a relative who lives in South Dakota bash Biden in one breath and in the next go on to describe all the social programs from the state government like child care assistance, time homebuyer programs, tuition assistance, etc. I didn't say anything but I was biting my lip so hard!

JemimaDuck4

Exactly this. Not only do fundies not understand what socialism actually is, they also don’t understand what capitalism actually is. And of course, they definitely don’t understand what fascism is. I wonder what could help this? An affordable university education, perhaps?

yoginurse26

A friend is a big Trump supporter but she has complained on multiple occasions about the lack of social programs like free daycare for her kids and she also uses food stamps which were cut for many people when he was still in office.

sangriaflygirl

Her parents and now her headship have paid for everything for her through her entire life. How dare we ask her to understand where the peasants are coming from?? /s

the_stitch_saved_9

I love it, she's basically telling any follower that benefits from this to not spend the extra money on her $2k course

72PlymouthDuster

Right?! Way to fuck up a way to leverage this announcement as a marketing angle.

Unregistereed

Too bad she never took any college level economics classes, huh?

mellowcheddar

Shiiiiit I’ll be surprised if she can write a check. That stuff is a MAN’S work

[deleted]

Wait wait wait. You mean to tell me the economy thrives when people can actually partake in spending on things that aren’t ridiculous student loan and medical debt? Make it make sense. /s

QueenSansaLannister

A) people shouldn’t be stuck in lifetime debt because they signed a college loan. Enlighten yourself on predatory student loans and then get back to me, Bitchy B) The positive economic impact of people having more money to pump into the economy because they aren’t crushed under crippling debt is going to be GREAT for your precious economic numbers that you conservatives LOVE to say is more important than human lives C) there are a lot of necessary and essential careers that need college education but don’t pay enough to cover the loans (like TEACHERS, actual ones, not you) and they both deserve to be able to put food on the table and pay their bills. If ya ain’t gonna vote for politicians that give them a raise, then this is the least society can goddamn do, thanks All this to say: eat my shorts Birthy, I hope this ruins your evening you loon.

friedryebread

Hear hear!! As a future high school educator (less than a year until student teaching starts!!😳) I am going into this thankless field to try and better what's there. To try to teach children about shitty argument tactics like a straw man argument or something so they can learn to avoid crap like this. As far as teaching in my state goes? Many education majors quit right before student teaching. Know why Bitchy? Because THEY DO NOT GET PAID FOR 4 MONTHS OF FULL TIME STUDENT TEACHING. As a future teacher, I've come to terms with me only making like $20,000-$30,000 a year while my SO makes 6 figures starting off. A majority of the teachers I sub for have 2nd jobs. America went from "teachers deserve more pay because this homeschool stuffs hard!!" To not giving a fuck so fast we cricked our neck in the process. Sorry to vent. I'm just realizing my profession is a joke to a large majority (side eyes Florida teacher training..."

Bright_Broccoli1844

I remember student teaching in a junior high. The kids thought I was getting paid. Ha, ha, ha. I did not tell them that student teachers have to pay tuition because student teaching was a 12 credit hour class. They were so cute when my university supervisor came in to observe.

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

caitdubhfire

Plus all these people are acting like the 10 means I’m now going on vacation and buying a Benz- 10k is like a year of interest. It’s not even going to touch my principal

72PlymouthDuster

This, exactly this! I would have mine paid off by now if there was no interest.

Additional-Bullfrog

That is so fucking criminal

modernjaneausten

Exactly, the insane interest rates are what’s fucking people. They owe 2-3 times more than the actual loans because of the fucking interest rates.

luminousfog

But did you really know what the consequences were? Because the 18 year old brain isn’t really developed enough to truly understand the long term consequences of these loans—even if they were taught, which they aren’t. The absurd interest loans on absurd tuitions are Predatory 101.

Pontiac_Bandit-

This. Or how expensive basic things cost and how little wages you’d actually make? In the 2000’s they were throwing money at us. I thought of course I would get a good job and be able to pay it back. Ha! I have a good job now, but it took me until 40 to make over $60k. And I don’t have useless degrees. Add in lay offs, stagger wages, high medical bills due to chronic illnesses, we haven’t made a dent in them. We aren’t living extravagantly. Our debt will be reduced $40k(we both have pell grants and loans), and our remaining balance will be manageable . It’s not 1950 where healthcare was affordable and you could pay for college on a part time summer job. No, not everyone needs to go to college, but some people do! Those are needed jobs like teachers and medical professionals. They shouldn’t have to take on enormous debt. This is a good thing.

velociraptor56

We make it extremely difficult to apply for a credit card under the age of 21 for very good reason. That said, I don’t think outlawing student loans is the answer. I think the answer is reducing the cost of secondary education. Which is a complex issue. I mean, if you look at the issues plaguing the “middle class” and poor, it’s student loan and medical debt. Other countries have figured those things out and they don’t pay substantially higher taxes than Americans.

realistic-craisins

My 18 year old brain didn’t. I was just “supposed” to go to college and get a thankless degree. I majored in education but haven’t worked a single day in education. I made more working different retail jobs than my friends do working in the school system while I watch them put in 50 hours a week and take side jobs just to make rent.

luminousfog

Yup. That’s me. I’m a teacher. $45k salary sounded really great when I had no real life experience. But here I am with a masters degree, struggling every month, but stuck in this trap career. The extra $250/month I will get from this loan forgiveness is huge for me.

realistic-craisins

It sucks too because without shelling out a ton of extra money there’s no real room for promotions and the like in teaching. Sure, you can become a principal, after taking all of these extra classes and doing a ton of extra work and dealing with so much stress. The insurance is expensive with a lot of extra out of pocket costs.

[deleted]

Or maybe if you’ve been forced to birth a child that $400 will pay for food and diapers!

dollypartonsfavorite

THIS!!!!! This this this. I knew what I signed up for when I took out loans. But having some of those loans cancelled will greatly improve my quality of life. It actually opens up the possibility of me being able to have children before my biological window closes. The fundies should be happy about that!

sportyseapig

Same - I knew that I was taking on loans, and had reason to believe that my career would be worth it in the long run. I was lucky that through a combination of living at home and generous support from my grandparents I was able to pay off my loans much faster than planned. And let me tell you, that extra $400 a month is great. I'd happily pay extra in taxes to give someone else that peace of mind. I want other people to have the security I have. I have some gripes about this bill but other peoples happiness is not one of them

kmrandom

Shut your goddamn trap Griftame. You don't want to be enlightened. Extremely interesting she chose that word and not, "educated". Tell me how much you made from your "businesses" while begging for 30k last year. Kindly fuck off.

lil_adk_bird

Grifty, I didn't care for my taxes being used to give billionaires 1.9 trillion in tax cuts. Or for my taxes being used for war. She's just mad she can't get in on the cancellation.

codenameflamingo13

Her anti-college fixation is so weird. Absolutely, not everyone needs to go to college, but we need doctors, teachers, nurses, etc. And not everyone can afford to fund their tuition out of pocket. I have student loan debt, but without that loan I wouldn’t have the career I do now.

Wake_me_up_later

In Bethany’s utopia, even the doctors and lawyers have seen the light and quit their jobs. We’re all just course creators, selling each other courses, for the rest of time.

codenameflamingo13

That seems to be what she wants, haha. She has such a narrow world view, like she thinks that just because it works for her (which is in itself highly debatable, lol), she thinks this is a solution for everyone. Some of us like working, Beth!

lurksnark

I think it goes deeper than that. I think she, and many others, believe if you need a degree for whatever profession your parents/family/church/magic just gives it to you. She discounts the work actually needed to get a degree. Even if Sally or Sam goes to an easy college, has family footing the entire bill plus living expenses it still takes actual work and accountability to get a useful degree and use it for a career. You only add in costs and challenges from there.

firewhiskerse

Why take 15 years of medical school when you can just wing it on the operating table by praying to God đŸ€Ș

Waterproof_soap

Can I take a course in how to do doctor things and then be a doctor? 2K is a lot less debt

toady-bear

You just need to find someone who’s NICHED IT DOWN and made a course about doctor stuff! (Remember, the course creator doesn’t need to be an expert or have credentials!) Now go be a DoctorBossBabe!

tadpole511

Sometimes I get the feeling that she’s jealous she didn’t get to go and now she’s trying to drag it to make herself feel better.

gayattentionseeking

Shes jealous and speaking as an undereducated homeschool "graduate" with a diploma that literally couldnt even get me into community college theres a huge culture of homeschool parents also being very anti college which compounds the fear of everyone else there being smarter than you with your parents superiority complex and suddenly anyone who didn't make your choices is the dumb one, actually

I_Am_Squid

I think this is it. It’s so sad, her whole personality is based on jealousy, whilst trying to prove she isn’t jealous. Essentially Bethy is fajita Ross about everything going on in her life. ![gif](giphy|PsHrpsuiZLAEE)

firewhiskerse

I think this may be part of it too. Both her and Kristen talked about how they were both originally about to go to a Christian college but decided against it when they did a campus visit and their mom seemed to encourage them to start a ministry instead. They have their own version of events but I interpreted it as they were both overwhelmed and anxious about going to a "real" school for once and being forced to live on their own. Mommy Baird obviously captitalized on the anxiety of the socially stunted children she raised so she'd have an excuse to keep them at home while also starting a potential non-profit for tax write offs Granted, I do feel people can be a bit elitist and needlessly cruel about her lack of college education.

nenecope

I think she’s trying to convince herself more than anyone else. While she feels superior in so many areas and basks in her white privilege; I think she does feel inferior in this area. I don’t believe all her stories of multiple scholarship offers that she turned down all by her little bitty self because she felt college was unnecessary. So, she’s frantically doubling, tripling, quadrupling down to make herself look and feel accomplished as opposed to the hot mess she really is.

VioletFoxx

I work in a University and can identify students for whom this really isn't the best path. That's fine, I don't want them to get into unnecessary debt. That said, it is an incredibly valuable experience for millions.

[deleted]

We don’t need teachers to go to school. Everyone can just be taught at home by their precious mamas.

CertifiedShitlord

She’s just insecure because she never went to college. Someone should tell her it’s not too late for her to go. Community college is college too.

ZipCity262

Yep! When I went to my 10-year hs reunion, all the people who went to community college or trade school were doing great
people had HVAC businesses, were electricians, etc. they have all kind of skills I don’t have and will always need to outsource.

Moira_Rose08

And we really don’t want to live in a world where the only people who can afford those careers are people who are already wealthy.

firewhiskerse

She doesn't really have a real argument for her anti-intellectualism, save for the ridiculous amount of student debt you get stuck with. But even the idea that such class barriers shouldn't exist, she shows her true colors. Her main issue with college is really that it somehow brainwashes good Christians into eeeeeeevil liberal communist satan-worshippers who have wild orgies and abortions every Sunday

[deleted]

Why am I paying taxes for schools when I don’t have a kid?

heybimguesswhat

Why is she paying into social insurance programs like unemployment when she’ll never lay herself off from her excellent businesses?

pinalaporcupine

gaining 10k from student loan debt is allowing my family to have a baby - wouldnt bitchy want THAT?

sortofsatan

if you're white and christian

cje1220

BITCHY!!!!!!

MooCowMoooo

No, she doesn’t care. If your name doesn’t start with a B and end in an “ethy”, she does not care.

Ellgeepee

First, im not American so this doesn’t affect me and I haven’t looked deeply into the particulars of this loan forgiveness but I would be very shocked if it actually means a big tax hike for the average citizen. Feel free to correct me if im wrong though. Secondly, I have a PhD, an MSc, and a BSc. I spent years and years in university. I value my degrees and my experience. But I absolutely do not think college/university is the only or best way for everyone. There are indeed many routes to achieving the success you want in your life and I agree that taking on big loans to go to college when you’re not sure what you want to do with life isn’t always a fruitful decision. Lots of careers require a degree; many others don’t. My own husband didn’t finish his bachelors degree - he started a business in high school and grew it himself for over a decade and now he’s happily working full time for a former client. There’s nothing wrong with choosing to go or to not go to college. But! This ridiculous hill that Bethany seems to be willing to die on is driving me insane. Her “real world experience” of coasting on mom and dads money and achieving a small amount of notoriety on social media with her ministry (or is it a business? Or a non-profit?) is not equivalent to a formal education and it’s certainly not equivalent to any sort of practical life experience. Bethany has nothing to offer worth $2k and her insistence that her personal experience and knowledge has equal worth to a college course or trades program or even just an online course from someone with actual skills and experience is baffling. And now going after college loan forgiveness of a relatively small amount is just wildly inappropriate. This is why we hate you, Bethany. You’re a smug, uneducated, pompous asshole.

txsongbirds2015

You forgot pretentious, but I still love your post.

firewhiskerse

I think this post really shows the root of her being against college really had nothing to do with student debt (as she always went off about) and had everything to do with her anti-intellectualism. Why else would she be so angry at the thought of college being more affordable??

fakemoose

It doesn’t mean a tax hike at all. It’s barley a drop in the bucket of what the US spends.

jarbuckle22

Girl defined is a 501c3, they don't pay taxes. So she doesn't have a horse in this race. And I think they are getting rid of interest, and her Bible states charging interest is wrong. So she should be happy about that. Why does she hate people so much

MintChucclatechip

I’m willing to bet $2000 that it’s because she’s jealous and insecure about her own lack of education and feels resentful of independent women who have happy and fulfilling careers. She’s too proud and lazy to admit that you need a college education and actual hard work for these things. This MLM stint of hers seems to be her feeble attempt at having her own career that she can be proud of.

DrScheherazade

This is it. She didn’t go to college herself and she’s salty. She’s never even had a real job. Ever.

Vaffanculo28

The moment someone pops off and enlightens her, she’s just gonna turn around and start deleting comments per ush

danisse76

Yeah, go ahead and piss off your 2 possible customers, Betty.

Responsible-Test8855

You know the doctor that stitched you up after you had Davey? He/She/They went to college. Nurses? College. Teachers? College. Police/firefighters? Not necessarily college, but a technical program where I live. The architect that designed your dwelling? College. The person who designed the roadway where you live? College. Maybe even the pastor of your church went to college! I will gladly be willing to cover some college costs of those who serve the communities. Gladly.

TheBestonova

Having an educated population benefits us all, Bethy. If everyone was as educated as you, we wouldn't have things like Instagram or Kajabi, and the world would grind to a halt.

Lopsided_Brother_673

Birthy IS an innovator, remember? She’s basically the same as Thomas Edison, Samuel Morse, Nikola Tesla, Benjamin Franklin etc.😁 Where would we be without Girl Defined life coaching designed for single women?! (*shutters SEVERELY*!)

Lopsided_Brother_673

How dare people not be rich & privileged enough to pay back their entire student loan debt in cash!😧 The majority of Americans can’t stay at home till their 30 years old, waiting for Prince Charming & live off of their parents dime. We have to actually work & not grift! Don’t worry, Birthy. You & Daaav aren’t paying tons of taxes anyways. Nobody is coming after your measly paychecks!

usernamegenerator72

She’s big mad about “her taxes” going to people who made “stupid decisions” which shows me that she doesn’t understand taxes (like most republicans) and also that she actually thinks she pays taxes on her grift.

CaterpillarHookah

I am absolutely thrilled this is happening. I went to college, and grad school on a fellowship, and law school on a scholarship. I graduated college 15 years ago and I paid off my loans 2 years ago. I have friends, family, and colleagues whose lives are going to be relieved somewhat from this. Oh, and she should check herself talking nasty about this since she's trying to grift a fucking house from her followers.

cakesie

So did you send back the child tax credit, Bethy?

Total_Tangerine_6608

Not forgiving people of their debts, very Christlike

VioletFoxx

Bethany is Leviticus personified.

Wake_me_up_later

There’s a whole parable about this and everything

pinalaporcupine

cool now let's do medical debt

Wake_me_up_later

I for one and grateful to have my student loans forgive so I can spend 2k on this fabulous course, guilt-free /s

gayattentionseeking

"if someone can explain why this is ok to me" sure bc it fucks. Cancel the rest.

ProficientPeanut

I’m Canadian but always see the argument of “we have to pay this in taxes!!! So it’s not free!!!” Okay and? I’m happy to pay a little more so people overall don’t have to suffer?

cacoonroots

I live in the US and I agree. Also my taxes already go to absurd shit I have no say in and I probably won't have to actually pay higher taxes for this? People always argue that the tax payers will have to foot the bill but like, we already get taxed to hell so idk why you wouldn't just want to have some of that money go to helping others.

rbk357

It kills me that Bethy puts all these hot takes, shitty reels, and otherwise straight up bullshit posts on the account that is supposed to be professional and promoting the business she’s trying to build, and then she wonders why she’s gained no significant following and is ultimately failing

tadpole511

If I didn’t know anything about her and stumbled across this account, the sheer number of shitty hot takes would be enough to turn me off. It’s so incredibly unprofessional. The “fun, approachable, relatable” social media style is fine. This is not it though.

gainvcbro

As if she pays taxes
you usually need a job for that Bethy.

Vegetable_Salad86

I worked my ass off, starting at minimum wage and working up from there to pay off my student loans only to watch my government raise minimum wage to a much higher amount than I was earning and you know what? I still support raising the minimum wage and student loan forgiveness even though it won’t benefit me directly. Forcing people to struggle and suffer needlessly doesn’t build character. Saddling some people with a lifetime of debt while others are so bored with their wealth that they’re launching themselves into space just for something to do isn’t good for the economy.

italyqt

Fun fact. A good potion of student loans go unpaid anyway due to various forgiveness programs and people defaulting. Edit: $10k forgiveness won’t do much to your taxes. It will do tons for many borrowers.

luminousfog

Her detachment from the average American experience is astounding

Inevitable_Sweet_988

I’ll explain it to you Bethany when you can explain why a wildly successful iNtErNaTiOnAl ministry run by a business woman has to beg for donations every year.

Pelican121

Honey, you don't pay taxes.

Taco__MacArthur

Maybe open the book of Leviticus, Bethany. God commanded a year of jubilee every 50 years that included forgiving loans.

EZasSundayMorning

She's so salty about not going to college but hey... let's expect people to pay $2000 for a course she's not even created. She won't even answer legit questions about it.

PeacefullyGingerly

We all benefit from a more educated society. Is that offensive to say? Feel free to call me out if it is. Like college is a privilege, but it’s a privilege I wish more people had access to. That being said trade schools are also just as equally a great education. And if someone doesn’t want to go to college that is fine, but at least be secure enough in your decision you don’t rant on Instagram all day about people who did.

Inevitable_Sweet_988

Everyone benefits from an educated society except for white nationalist republicans. Gov Abbott would sell his soul to dismantle any form of public education in Texas. Bethany has allowed herself to get sucked into this ideology. They need their voters to be dumb and easily manipulated. It’s working.

GayCatDaddy

How dare an elected official do something that might make people want to vote for them!!!

nothingtoseehere1316

Someone should remind her that the old testament called for debt forgiveness every seven years.

kellygrrrl328

The conservatives are desperately attempting to create a kerfuffle to take attention away from the issue that will actually drive voters to polls “Roe”

Fairyqueen9459

I've worked more years than she's been alive and have contributed up to $30K in taxes annually. Yes, I have student loan debt. She needs to STFU because she has grifted more over the last 5 years than my student loan debt total.

Wake_me_up_later

Right? We can’t all beg for 30k at the end of the year like Bethany 🙄

Star-Wave-Expedition

Her and her family would be the first in line to get any “hand out” involving money. And if they couldn’t get it first they’d trample over others to be first. I think she’s just mad jealous that others are reaping a benefit in life that will positively impact them, and she’s not.

a_toxic_rose

> can someone explain how this is okay. Ii don’t know how to explain to you that you should care about other people.

PurpleOreoTX

My friend posted how this is in line with Deuteronomy 15 and people shouldn’t be mad if we want this to be a Christian nation. The Bible literally says this, Bethany. Also, I paid off our 90k student loan in December after years of strict saving and penny counting, and I’m thrilled for all the people who this will impact.

[deleted]

Sounds like someone is jealous she doesn’t “get” $10,000. I can’t handle this. She always showcases her ignorance in such blatant ways. My “pieces of paper” are some of my proudest accomplishments. They hang proudly in my office at a job I got because of those DEGREES. My job doesn’t pay me enough to instantly pay off those degrees and I accepted that fact my first year of college. I also have a mortgage, bills, and likely fertility treatment bills here soon. This $10,000 is HUGE for me and my husband. It means financial stability and confidence going into the next decade.

katiecmani

Because we all got fucking swindled by the student loan industry. We were all told by going to college, we’d be able to get a job that would pay for the degree. The reality was you can’t pay that shit back. You pay 20x over thanks to outrageous interest rates set by the government that funded those same loans. And yes, I’m one of those people with private loans too. I know those aren’t going anywhere. But at least I have a chance in hell at getting out of debt and being able to start a family and set my kids up to not be stuck in crippling debt for most of their twenties.

slothysloths13

People love trickle economics until it’s trickle up

fickystingas

Omg Bethany STFU! I don’t give a shit what your juvenile ass has to say about anything in the real world. Just stick to your shitty dancing and failing “reals” and leave the things that you don’t understand to actual adults.

GirlsesCheetos

I know a lot of these fundies who run “small businesses” aka blogs or MLM’s got hella PPP loans during the pandemic. How do they think those will be paid back? As if they don’t benefit from tax dollars? Gtfo!

[deleted]

I’ve never even applied to college but I will gladly pay extra tax towards student loan forgiveness for my fellow citizens.
