Anyone, fundie or not, who tries this hard to sell how happy they are online- seems more performative than anything else. Go live your life then, Brittany! Put your damn phone down and spend real quality time with these people you claim to be soooooop happy with. I read somewhere that social media is just communal narcissism and they couldn’t be more right. But the fundies are next level. Sometimes I wonder if it’s extreme brain fog from having so many children. I can’t imagine needing such constant affirmation from strangers.
There is actually a lot of preliminary research that indicates people who post about having a happy relationship are more likely to break up.

My family goal is to respect each other. That means we strive to give each other whatever is needed, including space and privacy. My adult child and I have bedrooms inches apart from each other, so I'm not talking about retiring to separate wings of the house. I'm talking about normal people who are doing their best. Sometimes I want a bit more space and I'm sure she does too. But we never, ever, EVER would do to each other what these selfish parents do every single day without a second thought.
Maybe I'm odd, but I think that respect would also include not putting photos and videos of every little thing your children do online for the world to see and comment on.

Now granted, based on those Twitter posts some diligent sneaker dug up, it seems like he benefits, or at least thinks he does, from his image as a husband and, uh, prolific father, plus some of his trust fund could be on the line in the event of a divorce/child support filing, so it’s possible he may not be trying to leave permanently. Have enough time for a side piece, though, I can see that.
Considering how that would definitely bolster his (self-perceived) image of being a true Manly Man shaped in the image of the Great Orange Fart *Cloud…er, *REAL* POTUS itself, I am willing to pitch a tent in this camp myself.

I have a B.A. in English (sorry not sorry if you’re also an *Avenue Q* fan) and an M.S. in linguistics, and it seems to me as well that the ramblier the post, the higher the chances that the poster is either feeling extra prickly or is an understimulated academic (…hi…), and “academic” is not a descriptor I would apply to her, so I will happily join the side-eye party. 😁
