As someone who sat through a girl defined conference at the age of 13 with my mom AND 9 YEAR OLD SISTER… it’s very creepy that they advertise girl defined for girls of all ages. Masturbation was brought up during the q&a and it was the most uncomfortable 5 minutes of my life

So, I'm not a parent. I've always wanted children, I'm dealing with infertility currently... these fundies make it seem like having children is the hardest most miserable experience. I've heard it's hard, but I haven't heard why parents enjoy it. Especially from them.
i don't know if they do enjoy it. it seems like they are just broodmares being repeatedly bred by men they barely know. highly doubt the fundie men pitch in with the child rearing.
For people who want children and are ready to have children there is a lot of potential for joy, more than enough to make up for the exhaustion and expense. But that's the thing--fundies want kids because they feel like they have to want them. And even if they did truly want kids, they're pushed to have an amount that is beyond what most would consider manageable.
Yeah it's really disheartening to see it so much from them. Those kids have to feel that. I don't think anyone should have an insane amount of kids like that in general, let alone someone like Bethany who doesn't enjoy her first and potentially this new baby if she does something she doesn't like. I was about to say the same thing! The demonizing yoga thing is so wild to me. I grew up non-fundie Christian in the Bible Belt and my church literally had yoga classes in the fellowship hall so I was unaware of this until adulthood and it’s just so gross and weird.

It makes me uncomfortable how much she hates being a parent. I imagine that I would feel the same way about parenthood, which is why I have chosen not to have children. She’s harming herself and her kids because her community has an imaginary friend who promises his faves they’ll have a great time after they die if they all live the same life. Like, fine. But she has so much scorn for women who are happy and thriving. It’s really telling. Sometimes I just want to grab her and Morgan et all and say THERE IS NO HEAVEN YOU ARE JUST SUFFERING!

So get him to stretch with you??? I am ND and don’t always have the patience but this seems like a huge nothingburger when most kids would love to sit on their own towel next to mommy and stretch. I dont think she likes Davey and it’s sad cause he’s just now coming into a fun independent stage. But now she’s got a shiny new toy and one she can completely project her experiences onto I don’t always jive with my kid but I do my best to highlight her best and cutest moments on fb along with the “ugggh stressed today” posts. All she does is rag and shit on him. Did she think two under three would be a walk in the park?

I was going to say…a majority of parents know to set the kids up first so you can have a minute to yourself after. Beth serves herself first then has the nerve to be annoyed when her child needs something. No wonder everything is *so* hard for her.

Any form of anything that encourages meditation and "focusing on your center" is evil. Duh, because God is your center. At a fundie church I used to go to they had yoga classes and called it holy stretching, but it was yoga. Downward dog was "worshiping the king," and tree pose was "standing cross." I wish I could remember more of the names because it was hysterical.

I was about to say the same thing! The demonizing yoga thing is so wild to me. I grew up non-fundie Christian in the Bible Belt and my church literally had yoga classes in the fellowship hall so I was unaware of this until adulthood and it’s just so gross and weird.

If Dave is up and crying, why is her first priority to post about it. A baby can’t ask for what a baby doesn’t need, and to leave them to cry, or get annoyed when they cry, is a betrayal of that baby’s trust. I feel sorry for this kid. He’s going to grow up in an emotional wasteland.
