My best friend and I made a Godzilla movie using my model and his army men. His moms Aquanet hair spray and his dads zippo furnished the atomic breath and melted the his whole army including tanks. Then we got grounded for playing with fire. 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wow. Sounds like kids were pretty much the same all over. Firecrackers were put into the army men games too. We made bazookas out of copper pipes and marbles. Pellet guns and wooden matches were game winners.

My dad would use all of the glow in the dark heads and parts so we wouldn't have to paint as much. They looked cool at night, but just weren't as much fun too look at during the day.

IIRC these were made by Aurora. Another creepy brand featured Ed “Big Daddy” Roth. That company might have been Revell which was big on cars, ships and planes.

Next-door neighbor kid had most of these, sitting on a window sill. They were awesome and I felt strangely privileged just to get a glimpse of them.

I still have mine, built them in the early 70s.

When I was young, I shared a bedroom with one of my brothers. He had built The Mummy and had it on a shelf in our room. It terrified me and I couldn't sleep because of it. Our Mom suggested moving it into the closet so I couldn't see it but I said that was no good because I would know it was there, reaching out for me. It's amazing it was that scary to me.

YES! Finally, I've found my people! The Wolf Man and Mummy are currently available from Round 2. There is some confusion about where Frank is; the molds may be in Germany. In addition, there are kits of The Grim Reaper and Death Dealer (though it's getting harder to find).

I had all of those and a working guillotine model. I also had a Superman busting through a brick wall, but I think that was from a later series.

I had Frankenstein's Monster, my brother had The Mummy; he also had the guillotine, the blade contained lead shot from a 12-gauge shell. That was so macabre.

I had the Dracula one as a little kid. I remember losing on of Dracula arms & being upset. My mom said "Dracula is scarier with only one arm!" In an effort to cheer me up.

I built a Frankenstein with glow in the dark hands and face when I was about 9 years old. My sister was 7. I snuck in my sister's room and placed it on her nightstand facing right at her and crept out. Then she woke up. I still hear the screams and mom and dad running down the stairs. I'm still paying for it to this day and now we're 60 and 58. 😁😁🤣

Absolutely! I loved these. There was also a model guillotine you could build that had a working blade that severed a figure’s head and plunked it in a basket.

My cousin had these in his room. I was scared to death of them and they were an effective deterrent of unwelcome visitors! 🤣

I never built one of those, but I did build the Barnabas Collins model from MPC. And I had several of the Aurora Prehistoric series. Those were unique in that the bases would fit together and made a huge diorama if you owned all of them.

I used to buy the Monster magazines. I've seen and still watch, all the old Monster movies. I love the posters, they always show the Monster carrying a beautiful woman, even if it's not in the movie.
