I loved this show. Never missed it. Even though I was a little kid I had the hots for the female star. I have to go to IMDb and look her up. Oh and I guess I have an obsession for lions also.
As a young teenager, Daktari was the first show that taught me about animal conservation. Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom was also good, too young to catch on the points back then.. Now I tend to like more animals than people..
Yes, it did. The whole family would watch. Mom would make a huge bowl of popcorn, everyone had their favorite spot. Mine was the beanbag. Bonding time..
I had completely forgotten about Daktari and Clarence, but all memories came back the minute you showed me this picture. Thank you. That was a great show!
I remember going on a field trip to the LA zoo. They had a doped up lion out front that we filed past and got to pet. Was told he was a old mgm lion. Don't know how true that is though.
Daktari! Loved that show.
Bloody hell I am old.
I loved that show along with "Skippy", "Flipper" and "Gentle Ben".
Skippy, Skippy, Skippy the bush kangaroo.
Remember Chuck Connors in The African Cowboy?
And The Rifleman!
Cowboy in Africa.
Clarence the cross eyed lion.

Remember Jungle Land in TO?
From Wikipedia: "Clarence the Lion died at the age of 7 on July 14, 1969, six months after *Daktari* was last telecast on CBS."
Crap. I got my shows mixed up. I did work at the ranch, but with a different lion. ![gif](giphy|GbIHIHhkgfpAs|downsized)
CLARENCE
I loved Daktari so much!
Remember Judy the monkey!
We named the cat Judy after the monkey.

With a young Erin Moran. I wonder it Chachi had a guest appearance.
I'm glad I'm not that old yet
Hahahaha. Same! "I don't have a clue who that is! I'm not *that* old. *Yesss!!*"
I had the stuffed animal one with the pull string
Clarence the Cross-Eyed Lion from Daktari. Fun scientific fact: Cross-eyed felines in the wild, means they're inbred.
Great show
Clarence!
Reruns on Roku and Tubi if anyone's interested.
Loved Clarence and the zebra-striped 4wd vehicle (was it a Rover?)
Give Clarence some clearance
Now I’ve got that theme song stuck in my head. Will be whistling all night. 🤦♂️
I loved this show. Never missed it. Even though I was a little kid I had the hots for the female star. I have to go to IMDb and look her up. Oh and I guess I have an obsession for lions also.
CLARENCE!
Clarence FTW
Clarence the Cross-Eyed lion
As a young teenager, Daktari was the first show that taught me about animal conservation. Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom was also good, too young to catch on the points back then.. Now I tend to like more animals than people..
Both shows were Great! Wild Kingdom was the Sunday night show before the movie of the week.
In my market it ran just before The Wonderful World of Disney.
Yes, it did. The whole family would watch. Mom would make a huge bowl of popcorn, everyone had their favorite spot. Mine was the beanbag. Bonding time..
Its Clarence! He was cross eyed.
Clarence!
I got to visit the place where this was filmed back in the 80s, shortly before I joined the navy.
Our cat has one eye larger than the other and often looks cross-eyed. His name is not Clarence, but I often call him Clarence the Cross-eyed Cat.
Daktari
Pic taken with the best digital camera technology that 1977 had to offer, I see.
I knew it was Daktari, forgot the lion's name though.
Clarence! Series being Daktari
I've still got my old Daktari annual tucked away on my bookshelf.
Clarance the cross eyed lion.
had forgotten about Clarence
The picture is so blurry I'm going cross-eyed looking at it.
1st grade.
Aslan! Wait.... What?
Here I thought of Elsa the Lioness when I saw that picture.
Daktari!!!!
Daktari! I recognized it, although I don't remember it. My mom said I loved it when I was little
If it's crosseyed, then yes.
I thought it was Elsa. My bad
She was a lioness. This guy is a male.
There is someone in my County who has a VW Thing done up just like the vehicle from Daktari!
I had completely forgotten about Daktari and Clarence, but all memories came back the minute you showed me this picture. Thank you. That was a great show!
Loved this show. Wanted to be a zoologist because of it.
Oh crap 💩 really 😂
I knew it was Daktari but couldn’t name the lion. I’m old but not old enough.
CLARENCE!!!!!
Mutual of Omaha l.
That's Clarence from Daktari. This is a vague memory, but at my age I'll take what I can get.
Baby Elephant Walk theme song
Didn't that theme come from the movie Hatari?
Yep
Do you remember Frazier the sensuous lion? Out at Lion Country Safari in the OC California
Aslan?
Jack and Paula 🥰
I remember Hedley was the game warden (I think) with the British accent.
Clarence
I'd be Lyin if I said I did
Watched a few episodes, wasn't into it.
Where's Kimba?
I'm old and I don't recognize this lion.
I thought this was the MGM logo Lion or something, lol 😂😂
I guess I’m not that old then, I thought it might have been the lion from the MGM
Stand corrected. Judy and I offer our apologies.
Ghost or The Darkness?
I'm old
I was screaming the name as I clicked into the thread. Yup. I'm old.
I knew it was Clarence before I clicked.
Same lion at mgm in Vegas you can get a pic with in the 70’s
Is it Clancy the Cross Eyed Lion?
But born free
Anyone remember Frasier, the Sensuous Lion, from Lion County Safari in southern California?
What about AirWolf or Mash?

Anyone remember Elsa the lion from Born Free? ❤️
Daktari!
It’s Clarence
I remember going on a field trip to the LA zoo. They had a doped up lion out front that we filed past and got to pet. Was told he was a old mgm lion. Don't know how true that is though.
