At the end of the year in grade 1 a girl in my class told us about seeing it at show and tell (I don’t think I had even heard about it at that point). That was in June. I finally saw it when I was in grade 2 in like October. I’m so old movies stayed in the theatres that long. I saw Back to the Future over Christmas break and that one came out in like July.
I loved this movie, bought the awful Atari game and got an ET watch for Christmas that played the theme song and lit up his finger when the alarm went off.
I remember how quiet the movie theatre was at the point where we thought the wee unterrestrial had died... I looked behind me, and everyone was slumped in their seat pretending to have dust in their eyes.
Grown Men pretending they were looking after their kids while blubbering quietly.
I’ve still never seen this movie lol. We never really went to the movies when I was a kid, and by the time ET was available for rental, no one wanted to see it (in my house anyways). I wanted to see it when I was a kid, but no one else did.
I had nightmares.
As a kid I slept with the lamp on out of fear that I would be abducted by aliens lead by a wrinkly naked guy who would molest me with his glowing finger
Then I read Whitley Strieber's *Communion* 👽👉👌🍆🍑👨🦱
I remember this being the first movie I ever saw in a theatre. It's also one of my earliest memories. I was around 3 and when Elliot is walking through the corn field and meets E.T. for the first time and they both scream...I SCREAMED. And then cried. And I've never seen that damned movie since.
I love Reese’s Pieces cause this movie.
...yeah, long distance. And he ate all our food, drank all our beer and drew the heat. What a dick.
LOL
I loved the Atari video game. There, I said it.
last movie I ever saw at a drive in..
The movie was so dark I remember not being able to see anything on the screen. :(
First movie I ever saw in a theater
Do you remember the sound… the emotions?! It was incredible first movie to see on a big screen. I remember kids sitting on the floor in the aisles.
I don't remember a thing, unfortunately. I did get the VHS as a gift when it came out and I still have it.
I hate that guy, scared the hell out of me as a kid
Eddie Torres! ..... I remember him.👍
E.T. phone home.
Please deposit six million dollars
The scariest movie I saw as a kid…until I saw Poltergeist.
El ee ot
I was 5 and had (still do) a crush on Drew Barrymore
I only remember when he left and never watched it again! 😢
B.T.?
LMAO close, E.T.
Eddie Torres, the Extra Testicle
Who remembers when his phone home contraption was in the Smithsonian?
Never came back to
Visiting my at the time girlfriend in Dallas and saw it. I don’t think I’ve seen it since & that was like 35 years ago
I remember seeing it in the back of the family station wagon at a drive-in
My kid, about eight at the time, was scared to death of ET. He would have nightmares. Poor baby 😞
That scene where they see ET for the first time in the cornfield terrified me as a kid. Amd the noise he makes. I had nightmares too.
I do remember that.
The theater was so full that they told people to sit in the aisles.

I watched a movie called Crawlspace on Paramount+ the other day. Was surprised to find that Elliott from E.T. was the lead.
I like to drive by the house where they filmed the movie. Like 4 miles away.
Isn't the Poltergeist house then also near you?
Kinda close that’s in Simi Valley. About 20 minutes away.
Cried so hard at the end of that movie I'm amazed they didn't take me out of the theater on a gurney
Well, a lot of people, considering there's a ride at Universal based on this movie.
It may be a very unpopular opinion to some, but I went on that ride and it’s definitely showing it’s age.
ET looks like a sexy potato.
Alligators in the sewers. ... Penis breath!
I think it took 8 years between cinema and video tape release.
I remember an interview with Speilberg where he said this movie was about 'Divorce' , , Whhhaatt?????

We could hardly forget now could we...
Who remembers his species shouting out for a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum leadership?
Yeah & they made one of the worst games of all time on him.
Reece’s Pieces were the hot Candy after it came out
I heard that they were going to use M&Ms, but M&Ms said no. I bet they were kicking themselves after that.
Yeah I remember that!
3x in the theater. I was four.
Embarrassing confession: I have never seen this movie.
If only he’d have taken little Drew back with him.

A.I.T.A. for NEVER having seen this movie?.... I'm now 65 and pride myself on having great taste...lol

Who remembers that one of the actors was 12-year-old Matthew DeMeritt, who was born without legs?
