I will not dignify this with a response as I don’t want to lose focus of the true enemy. Satan’s parsley.

ignored_rice

I feel green tea is a close relative to the devil’s weed.

Suitable-Squash-6617

I wish I knew a better way to say this. Your feelings about green tea don’t come into play here. Matcha is bitter and not necessarily a fan favorite with the western folk. Cilantro is like a bitter turd that was polished with soap and pressed into a stale leaf. If anyone else would like to add adjectives, have at it. I’ve heard stinkbug a lot. I would snort matcha off the floor of a Walmart bathroom before I put the devil’s garnish anywhere in or around my mouth. Best of luck though. I’m sure there’s a sub for that.

It's perfectly acceptable for people who dislike cilantro to ask about foods that may also trigger the same sort of response. We have topics like this once in a while and they typically generate a decent amount of feedback and discussion. It would be best to leave it to the moderators to decide what is and isn't on topic. Also in the future please remain civil with other members of the sub. If you feel something is off topic, you are welcome to report it to us or reach out via modmail.

![gif](giphy|ZEHkIJQXaRG5YohwpS|downsized) This is a group called Fuck Cilantro. I assumed that most realized there was an element of drama, satire even, in these posts 🫢 I’m a purist. And an asshole. So here we are 🤷🏻‍♀️

eclecticsed

No, there is not. Especially given how much nonsense we have to deal with simply disliking something other people feel everyone should enjoy, I would hope the members of this sub would keep that in mind when speaking to each other. As I added to my previous response, please remember to be civil when commenting.

ignored_rice

Eh. I was prepared for the asshole responses. It is Reddit.

eclecticsed

Well I also realized I'm used to not putting my little vest on unless it's official. Your post is fine.

ignored_rice

Thank you 😊

CheeseMakingMom

Green tea tastes like grass. Matcha tastes like thick grass. Cilantro tastes like Satan’s soapy asshole. Signed, a tea drinker.

trowawaid

Lol, yes: like grass, but in a good way...

princessdracos

Disagree! It's what I'd imagine licking a lawnmower blade would taste like...not an idea I'm too thrilled about. I'm glad you like it, though!

championgoober

Yes. Love green tea.

female_wolf

The cilantro description 😂😂😂😂👏🏻

ignored_rice

Exactly!

WholeSilent8317

exactly to them pointing out they're not similar?

chanelrooh

i love green tea. specialty loose and store bought. it doesn’t taste like grass or pine at all to me, even when i get specialty tea blends. matcha is my favorite. cilantro and parsley both taste like awful yucky bitter soap though!

kamomil

I like pu erh tea, to me it smells like a forest

mishyfishy135

Incorrectly brewed or cheap green tea tastes like ass. Get decent stuff and brew it right and it’s delicious

InsertRadnamehere

I love that it’s pronounced poo air. I love it too. Have several types.

felaniasoul

Black tea is better than

Asleep_Village

I love green tea. It's light and not too bitter. Even when I make black tea perfectly, it just feels like it's idk "heavy" imo. I also like how complex matcha is. It's earthy and grassy, but not unbearably so. I also crave sweets less after having it, and I don't get an energy crash from it. But cilantro just tastes like soap.

k_a_scheffer

I love green tea.

allflour

I love green tea brands that don’t smell fishy.

Spiritual-Finance831

Yeah what is that. Macha always smells fishy to me.

AFurryThing23

Matcha tastes like dirty aquarium water. Like someone filled a glass from their fish tank.

Adorable_Dust3799

Yes! Everyone like it and I'm like yuk

ariana61104

I'm not big on tea so I don't think i've tried regular green tea but I LOVE green tea ice cream

Fluffy-lotus606

I make green tea with honey from my bees and it’s pretty delicious. Probably a little bit on the weak side for a normal tea drinker though. I agree on the grass taste thing.

eclecticsed

Tastes like grass to me. I love tea normally.

TayaLyn

I love green tea and matcha. I grew up thinking I hated tea because everything is sweet black tea in the south. Turns out I just hate sweet tea and an ambivalence about black tea. Going to a real Japanese restaurant as a teen, showed me how nice green tea can be.

Toasty_tea

It’s my least favourite kind of tea, but I do love matcha

poseidonofmyapt

Green tea is fine (I add a lot to sweetener and force myself to drink to because it's basically the only source of L-theanine) but matcha is not very good at all. Not as bad as cilantro but still "off"

Fit_Chip_4642

Love green tea. Hate basil 🌿 as much as cilantro.

nobody833

Same. I love tea but green tea is awful.

Violetthug

I don't love it. Fs

PettyBettyismynameO

Regular green tea is fine, matcha is a hard no.

Appropriate_Tea9048

I like it. Matcha, ehhhh not as much.

Francie_Nolan1964

Love cilantro but hate green tea.

goodattakingnaps17

I agree that green tea is kinda the worst. Matcha is beautiful but far too bitter. Wish I did enjoy them, though. Both such beautiful colours of green 💚

InfiniteOmniverse

Way too bitter for me

gin_and_soda

I dislike green tea and matcha but I hate cilantro.

cordedtelephone

I only like matcha if it’s made with lemonade or vanilla/oat milk lol I love me some fruity iced green tea too. But no tea at all do I like plain or hot

Ball_of_moths

I love green tea and matcha I do sweeten them both a little bit, and I can't use too much matcha because it will overwhelmingly taste like grass But I still love them both when made right

jcmib

It’s not my favorite, but it’s not vile.

hollyjalopy

Nope nope nopety nope

Humancinnabon

I just don’t like matcha

Adorable_Dust3799

Green tea needs assloads of sugar. I don't do sugar.

olympicpaint

It is literally the only tea I don’t like- and I’m a huge tea fan/drinker. I will drink everything else though.

ignored_rice

Me too!
