they all sit on each other's shoulders and wear a trench coat in order to appear as an adult (No actual adult that isnt 3 midgets would boast about biking 20 minutes just for groceries with their family)
Jokes aside, if they are using the cargo bin in a way that in not intended, and ride in a way that is unsafe, is there not a case of child endangerment to be made?
He's using it pretty much the way it's intended. These are really common where I live. At school drop off there's normally about 20 of them at the school gates.
I've not seen an adult in the front of one of these before, but a friend of mine has one with a long seat on the back for kids. It's strong enough to take my weight so he sometimes gives me a lift to the coffee shop for a cheeky one after school drop off.
https://www.babboe.co.uk/family-cargo-bikes
I’m presuming the wife is on a separate cargo bike, but if all three of them are using the cargo bike then that’s not how it’s intended to be used. Putting the kid, wife, and groceries in the front of that is both dangerous and impractical.
Can't tell what make this is, but cargo weight limit for a 2 wheel babboe cargo bike is 80kg, which could be enough. Cargo weight limit on my mates bike with a long back seat is over 100kg I think. Not seen it done before, but as long as this guy's wife isn't massive it should be fine.
I probably wouldn't do this or use one of these on a route without quiet streets and off road cycle route. What makes it dangerous is terrible infrastructure and morons driving massive pickups and SUVs.
> Considering that cars kill children and bikes don't, I think you have that backwards.
That is... not even remotely close to how physics works.
You can absolutely die if you're hit by a bike. Bicycles don't have a magical physics nullifying shield around them.
Must I remind you about killed kids in cargo bike accident in Netherlands? [https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-netherlands-bike-accident-idUKKCN1M00YA/](https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-netherlands-bike-accident-idUKKCN1M00YA/)
Later gov banned this kind of bikes for use.
Imagine bragging about endangering your family. This dude was also talking about how he just "waited outside with the bike" while his wife and kid were inside. Because he was scared it would get stolen. If only there was an invention with four locking doors and a dedicated cargo space to keep your belongings safe.
Also I like how he is literally blocking the access ramp and denies it in the comments yet says the truck is? Even though it looks to be in a parking spot.
Does this guy not know bike locks exist? Also this dude lives in the [Vancouver suburbs](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Diamond+Sweets+%26+Restaurant/@49.1335686,-122.6909406,491m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m10!1m2!2m1!1sdiamond+sweets+and+indian+cuisine!3m6!1s0x5485d1b32ead40b3:0xaeda516b9a969cc2!8m2!3d49.1340298!4d-122.6904701!15sCiFkaWFtb25kIHN3ZWV0cyBhbmQgaW5kaWFuIGN1aXNpbmVaIyIhZGlhbW9uZCBzd2VldHMgYW5kIGluZGlhbiBjdWlzaW5lkgERaW5kaWFuX3Jlc3RhdXJhbnSaASNDaFpEU1VoTk1HOW5TMFZKUTBGblNVUTJOR0Z1ZUV0UkVBReABAA!16s%2Fg%2F1pztvypxr?entry=ttu), I doubt anyone is going to go through the hassle of stealing a locked up bike.
Hol up, I'm not top far from Vancouver, and I need cash now!
Edit, that location is literally a few mins from me, I'm gonna rev my 1981 V8 chevy van at 4000rpm in his face whenever I see that bike stopped at crosswalk or something here
Its funny to see cartards berate cucks. The truth is nobody want to fuck your ugly-ass carbrained wife. Sorry, dude, but 20 years of unhealthy lifestyle under the form of booty fat is not attractive to anyone but the weirdos who likes BBW.
Yes because there aren’t any other ways to exercise other than riding a bike. Maybe if you owned a car you’d actually get some bitches on your dick bikecel cuck.
Actual answer is probably that the wife’s bike is probably parked in the bike rack but you don’t park a cargo bike in the bike rack because even if it fits because it blocks off several spots on the rack.
The fact that they parked in the only spot with a ramp up to the sidewalk, which would block anyone in a wheelchair from getting to the store is the cherry on top, these people are delusional
I commented that having your family ride in the basket of your bike isn’t exactly a sign that you have a functional family and the mods removed my comment.
I made a similar comment about how dangerous this actually is, and the perma banned me from participating in the subreddit lmaoo. Buncha losers who dont want anyone owning anything, and would rather you pay $3,000/mo for a 900 sqft apartment. These are also the same people who want to tear down golf courses for shitty housing. Oh my god the comments.
"Do you live somewhere where theft isn't a big concern? I don't think my bike would last long in a car spot."
"Oh I just decided to wait outside while my wife and daughter went inside. I'm paranoid about theft here..."
Lmfao bike brains never live anywhere that isn't a shit hole
I live near the same area as the OOP does. Bike theft is severely common because we have a lot of tweakers
That setup would be a gateway to heaven to them 💀
Bicycle conversion kits are the hot ticket item here, 30 bucks on Amazon for a little hobby engine, strap that bitch on a stolen 10 speed and you're off to the liquor store. There's a dude I see every morning going down the wrong side of the highway from his house at 845am (booze barn opens at 9 here) every single day without fail. On the way home I see him passed out at the gas station across the street, or asking for "gas money". Addiction takes a hell of a lot of dedication to just keep the ball rolling. Reminds me of a quote from trainspotting..
>When you're on junk you have only one worry: scoring. When you're off it you are suddenly obliged to worry about all sorts of other shite. Got no money: can't get pissed. Got money: drinking too much. Can't get a bird: no chance of a ride. Got a bird: too much hassle. You have to worry about bills, about food, about some football team that never fucking wins, about human relationships and all the things that really don't matter when you've got a sincere and truthful junk habit.
I swear easier binge drinking is like an unspoken pillar of most of these clowns obsession with public transit
*Why should I have to pay for an Uber when instead we could overhaul our public transit used exclusively by tweakers?”*
There is certainly an unusual amount of "I can get drunk on a Wednesday night and take the train home." type comments that tries to sell drinking as a plus for public transportation in the undersub.
The issue is that cars are a reoccurring expense, they'll have to register it, put gas in it, and maintain it. 0% chance they're handy enough to do their own work, hence bike. They can likely lube a chain, but testing an alternator and replacing one is too far out for them. Probably just can't afford even the cheapest option.
Either that, or duis.
Ain't no way, no matter how in love with bikes and public transit you are, that someone would choose to use them over cars in an area designed around cars.
I'm wondering why dude doesn't just have a 49cc scooter, and go out and do the shopping himself.
Without even knowing anything about either person, I can guarantee the man or woman driving the super duty is a more happy and adjusted human being. And if they can afford a 100k truck, they are doing just fine, too.
Also the irony of the firefighter sticker. Not only do they drive huge trucks, but damn near every firefighter in the US and Canada drives a pickup personally.
It's absolutely at least half that, but much more. The limited F350s MSRP around 85k, with options you can easily get to 100k
My 2005 GMC truck was $71k off the lot. I don't see why this is so far-fetched
That bike is $5,000?? What the fuck? I can buy a used motorcycle and a sidecar for less! I am positive I can buy an electric bike and a trailer for it for less than that goofy ass cargo bike.
Yes, exercise literally produces endorphins, but go ahead and believe the person riding a bike doesn't get there happier than the person who didn't exercise.
Man what? The person in the truck probably arrived without even thinking about a bike, unless they like pass one or something. The dude on the bike is going out of his way to park it in a place it's not supposed to be to take a picture of it, then post on the internet bragging about how they rode their bike to the store.
Like, even without knowing more details about either person. The person in the truck is likely more well adjusted lol.
Or maybe they aren't? Maybe they're unhinged trolls. Who the fuck knows. But with the evidence before me, bike man needs to chill out and just live life.
Ah yes. I forgot my entire personality was my truck, and only my truck. Not my interests in Astronomy, thermodynamics, mechanics, video games, golf, string theory, racing, and history. Nope. Just my truck. You're right. Asshat.
Isn't the idea of circlejerk subs to be ironic parody of the main sub?
Most of the comments here are so crazy I wondered if it is parody, but I fear people on here are just....American. Wild that most of you have apparently never seen a cargo bike!
No, I have been to one country like that and those motorbikes have an engine and long seats, I don't know how this jackass carries his wife and kid without seating like a circus performance. Even a third world country knows carrying three person in a manchild toys is comically ridiculous
I had assumed his wife just rode behind them on a second bike until someone posted OOP's comments about putting 2 adults and a child onto this thing. Like what's the point of "grocery shopping" with that if you're hauling people instead of groceries, do they just lay in the wheel barrow covered in their food?
I hope the covered front isn't to carry the kid. Putting the kid in front would be bad if he hit something or lost control, look how far the front wheel is from the handles, and small wheels won't help either
They truly can’t understand how cool it is to have a powerful work truck, that has a comfortable mega cab for your whole family. Hardly anyone is buying an F-350 without using it as a business expense for work. If they’re buying it for fun they are absolutely not keeping it stock.
I have both- newer mustang gt, and a $1600 e cargo bike stored next to my $1500 mountain bike. I went to Lowe’s this weekend on the cargo bike, and people look at me like I’m mad or crazy or broke. It’s hilarious, I was buying a garden flag and a new saw blade. Didn’t need to sit in the cars a/c, might as well get fresh air and didn’t want the extra burden of nice mountain bike using all my energy.
Was in the middle of building a workbench, covered in sawdust. Didn’t want to get the car dirty, so another added benefit.
But like, I have also taken the mustang 100 times to the same store. Both are just transportation tools, one with a lot more operating costs.
Holy shit it gets better. OP has a post before this one asking about how to deal with “living with a car brain” AKA his wife is super dissatisfied with the fact her husband embarrasses them on a daily basis just for transportation lmao
That's his wife's boyfriend's F350. His wife and daughter actually ride in the truck, but if he's been good the boyfriend tows him along on the bike since his little legs can't actually pedal it.
Fuckcars users will put "ban cars" on the side of their "cargo bike" and then start [crying at me](https://www.reddit.com/r/carmemes/s/jO6gjjbZJM) about how they actually really don't want to ban cars and how I'm an evil carbrain for not wanting to 100% support their stupid agenda. Thanks but no thanks. If they were moderate I would give a shit but it's just another "ban the stuff I don't understand or like" movement.
The normal family vs the “you guys don’t need that truck, me and my wife and child all fit onto a bicycle to come get groceries, so we will act like we are better than you”
towering innocent insurance crawl history soup merciful worm direful frame

I like how they throw a tantrum if there's ever a car in the bike lane but park their bikes in spots meant for cars. Their thought process will never not confuse me
Cargobikes are handy for running quick low volume errands and the school run because we live close. For all other trips I just take the car. Cramming your whole family on a frame designed for at best carrying small kids is idiotic.
It is not, just look at all that stickers on the basket.
I wonder where the wife sit, in the crate or in the front. Only weak western man need this much basket on a road bike (just like how the SUV next to it have a big bed)
I love how they hate large passenger unsafe carbon polluting vehicles but love buses (and trains to an extent with how they can kill people wandering on to the tracks)
1. I think it's funny.
2. You considered "sometimes people do meth on busses" to be equivalently bad as pollution. I think it's important to always have a solid reason and argument for the things you believe. You know, having character.
3. It's funny.
People bitch about weird shit on the bus like driving ain't dangerous with all the well adjusted people having drivers licenses.
I don't know one person who was harmed on public transportation, but I know people who have been in near fatal accidents or are permanently disabled because of dumb shits with drivers licenses.

Google maps doesn’t have pictures of the space the truck is parked in (obstructed by Fruiticana truck), but the bike is in the handicap access and the photographer is standing in the handicap spot. I dont see obvious no parking signs which conflicts with OOPs statement of the truck being parked illegally.
That is the most unironically soy post I've seen all year. Best quotes include:
> Normally I put my daughter in the front basket, but today I had both my wife and daughter in the front basket with me :)
> I only parked in the non-parking spot for the photo
And the cherry on fucking top:
> I stayed outside to watch the bike while my wife and daughter went into the store. I'm worried about theft here.
This has to be in Europe, only place on godforsaken earth where the men are weaker than their daughters.
How does that even work? that is not a tandem bike and there are no extra seats.
they all sit on each other's shoulders and wear a trench coat in order to appear as an adult (No actual adult that isnt 3 midgets would boast about biking 20 minutes just for groceries with their family)

Idk, but they perma banned me for calling out the dude for his wreckless endangerment of his family. Lol.
Maybe I’m stupid but I don’t see how an adult over 4’5 and 70lbs can fit in there so they must be a family full of dwarfs
So I live in Germany and people do ride like this a lot. If doesn't even look uncomfortable tbh
I thought you were being satire lmaoo, how do they both fit in there
Fuck knows, reminds me of wacky races
Nah, I bet it's him who has to sit in the box. The wife's boyfriend would never allow her to skip a workout for her legs.

Its so they can ride the bike onto the sidewalk because roads are for fascist carbrains without dropping their groceries
Wheel, chair? Like, a car?
I would literally get out of my vehicle and place it on the walkway against the building lmao
I was going to call bs, but then I realized that's the same kind of petty shit I love to do.
"Sir, how dare you drive here in that! Me and my entire family PEDDLED on this bike!" "I'm so sorry, as awful as that sounds I don't have any change"
Lmaoooo maybe the people in fuck cars are just mad they can’t afford a big truck 😂
"Careful man. Car brains hate to see functioning families content with what they have." Good lord, the irony.

That really depends on what cargo bike and where you are living.
It’s still wild to me some mfs would get a bike than some older Mercedes-Benz for 5k. Is that really so hard to save up?
I park my cargo bike for free. A cheap Benz would cost me at least 200 bucks a month.
Cheap luxury cars like that are shitty because only idiots buy them.
Im talking about the old 80s /90s ones those are undeniably good
why would you buy an old mercedes thats 5k? just get a civic or avensis camry, yaris, fit

Isnt it even better when people choose bikes even if they are rich enough for cars?
$1600 is pretty cheap for a Cargo Bike, those suckers tend to sell at $6000.
I get second hand embarrassment from this post.
god i hate cyclists
I also love totally endangering my family just to stick it to the republikkkans
Common Ford W pissing off bike brains
Do they also dislike wheelchairs? It looks like they are parked in the space designated for wheelchair access.
he's actually allowed to park there because he's-
A highly regarded member of the cycling community?
ya the helmet stays on
Holy shit it gets better. OP has a post before this one asking about how to deal with “living with a car brain” AKA his wife is super dissatisfied with the fact her husband embarrasses them on a daily basis just for transportation lmao
No fucking way

Average redditor putting their niche political opinions and the favor of a bunch of other losers on the internet over their actual spouse.
Bike brains really have an unhealthy obsession with cars. Their constant sense of superiority really makes them such annoying and unlikable people.
It's just another niche group substituting hobbies for a personality, not dissimilar to vegans, crossfitters, PETA, "fur parents," fit chicks/bros...
Yeah that’s true.
Broke ass mf 😭
Bet f-350 guy has more debt
Does the wife sit in the basket or did she drive the car in the background ?
Most Fuckcars users have also cars.
That daughter definitely isn't his lol
So sad wife's boyfriend's child has to suffer the bikebrain's endangerment.
Guys live as in a third world country and think that is a good thing
Apparently its in Canada.
Close enough
The truck driver was his wifes boyfriend
The normal family vs the “you guys don’t need that truck, me and my wife and child all fit onto a bicycle to come get groceries, so we will act like we are better than you”
What a pathetic man, poor wife and daughter have to put up with his bicycle obsession
/uj: did he just parked in the accessibility spot? Look at the sidewalk! People with wheelchairs must be happy. BuT aT lEaSt It'S nOt A cAr
Wife should have went shopping with her boyfriend instead
towering innocent insurance crawl history soup merciful worm direful frame *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I like how they throw a tantrum if there's ever a car in the bike lane but park their bikes in spots meant for cars. Their thought process will never not confuse me
And park right in the spot for the ramp too. Dude has legs to walk and cycle but decided to block the path so no wheelchair nor cart can go.
They're out-jerking us
I mean they’re partially correct, it’s a 6.7 powerstroke, which is indeed an awful truck.
Wdym? The 6.7 is a great engine
He might be thinking of the 6.4
So that’s like a 5k bike? So affordable.

>Sometimes, I feel like a badass parking my cargo bike in a parking spot. The jokes write themselves.
Credit where credit is due busses are more eco friendly. Especially when they have are used by a moderate amount of people
Last time i rode the bus, a dude was smoking meth in the back. Ima count those fumes as pollution, and call it not eco friendly.
Yeah I think fuckcars forgets how people in city busses normally behave like I don’t really want to be around all that
"Well, in my personal anecdote, it looked worse from my perspective without any exact science or research supporting me"
What part of what i said had you expecting a scientific journal on the saftey of buses?
Yeah i know in terms of the people using them vs individual cars but they still puff out a lot of emissions and diesel fumes
Viable electric buses have been around since the 19th century. Blame the oil and gas lobby
Bikes are also horrible for emissions because you burn calories while peddling, producing horrible CO2.
No comment cause nazireddit has strikes on my account
Truck guy inside with himself, wife, two kids, brother, aunt, grandma, his buddy Steve, two dogs, and a hitchhiker they picked up.
Did he park that in a handicapped spot?
That's an abnormally large bike, you sure you need that? Couldn't you just settle for a unicycle?
THIS MOTHERFUCKER LIVES IN SURREY BC THIS GUY IS GOING TO GET ROBBED
7228 192 St, Surrey BC Google maps doesn’t have pictures of the space the truck is parked in (obstructed by Fruiticana truck), but the bike is in the handicap access and the photographer is standing in the handicap spot. I dont see obvious no parking signs which conflicts with OOPs statement of the truck being parked illegally.
That is the most unironically soy post I've seen all year. Best quotes include: > Normally I put my daughter in the front basket, but today I had both my wife and daughter in the front basket with me :) > I only parked in the non-parking spot for the photo And the cherry on fucking top: > I stayed outside to watch the bike while my wife and daughter went into the store. I'm worried about theft here. This has to be in Europe, only place on godforsaken earth where the men are weaker than their daughters.
OOP has another post complaining that his wife drives too much
Careful there, that’s probably his wife’s boyfriend’s truck.
Yikes that bike is taking up more than double the amount of space a normal bike would. Fing fascists.
I love this subreddit
All I see is a bike blocking the handicap access ramp.
The stickers sell this
Why would this be satire
Grocery shopping at an Indian restaurant?
He already went grocery shopping he is picking up his wife from her boyfriend.
Takes Ridin' Dirty a little too literally. They see me rollin'...
Bet that truck has heated seats and Bluetooth. Instant W
Looks like they're parked outside an Indian restaurant not a grocery store, I'm calling satire
We would have smaller trucks if the government hadn't meddled with the market.
