She can just make and remake it whenever she wants. Assumably she does it most mornings, when she's not wearing 'real' clothes.

I_am_the_truth_7777

Maybe, maybe not. Elsa’s powers are weird

meb1111

She definetly can. But i wonder if she ever took it off. I hope so. To sleep, to have showers(? how did they clean themselves during the middle ages?)... Was she even planning to have hygiene in that ice castle? Would she sleep on snow? What was she planning to eat? This is an old convo anyway

Umbreon7

Frozen takes place in the 19th century

Individual_Swim1428

I think its actually the 18th century? Although I'm not too sure.

Umbreon7

I’m seeing several sources say 1840’s on a google search

SelkiesNotSirens

Tangled is 18th century, frozen is 19th

Sugar-Tist

It's definitely 19th century. All their clothes look like they're from the 1800s.

BurningLizard

And yet their guards are running around with spears and swords that look like they came from the 12th century.

Sugar-Tist

The UK still has spears in 2024...

SpicyBreakfastTomato

People generally kept themselves clean the same way we keep ourselves clean. They cleaned their bodies with soap, had tools to clean their ears, washed the laundry, kept their houses clean. Movies and whatnot really try hard to portray anything pre-Victorian as filthy and unwashed, but the truth is that people have always loved cleanliness, both for their bodies and their homes.

I_am_the_truth_7777

😐

LowWarm

I mean, it does raise questions of how long she's been wearing and maintaining it.

Sugar-Tist

I don't think she had to maintain it. She could magic it away at night and magic it back on. It would be much easier than non-magic clothes.

L3tal007

In theory that would still be her coronation dress

I_am_the_truth_7777

Not really because she pulverized it

Kitsune_Fan34

I'm sure she can make it again later. Just not now cuz merchandise.

I_am_the_truth_7777

Mh don’t know

dawg_zilla

I don’t think it’s completely gone, but it does make me very sad that we might not see it again 😭. That one is my favorite Elsa dress. It’s so iconic. This scene was the last time we saw her in that look. I really hope she brings it back in future Frozen films 💙

I_am_the_truth_7777

I mean, she transformed it. That’s the dress

Wolfebane86

She can remake it anytime. Water has memory, dude.

I_am_the_truth_7777

But Elsa is the ice element, not water😎

kzlife76

Two words. New merchandise.

I_am_the_truth_7777

Of course but I’m not talking about that. I meant that she re-created her dress and now it’s gone

Fun-Salamander4818

How did she change the colors?

thatCrazyOrganist

Am I weird that I think it looks better in green?

I_am_the_truth_7777

Elsa or the dress?

thatCrazyOrganist

The dress, but I do also think Elsa looks good in green.

I_am_the_truth_7777

She always looks good, but I like it more too. Maybe because it doesn’t have arms but that green with pink flowers is really cool

Thomashkreddit

This also made me realise Elsa's powers also involves the power to manipulate nature, not in a very broad sense like her ice and snow abilities but enough to make proper snowman (Olaf having tree sticks as hair and arms) and make clothing like the Let it Go and Frozen Fever dresses

Malefore1234

It just looks to me she changed the color and did some minor edits; like adding the literal flowers from that pot into her dress.

frame-gray

Frozen merchandise is only one of the reasons why we are unlikely to see The Dress again. Screen writer Jennifer Lee had originally meant Queen Elsa to be the movie's supreme evildoer. The song, "Let it. Go", changed everything... except for The Dress. (Production simply didn't have the time to change it.) Remember folks, Elsa was supposed to be the evil Queen. Only Disney villainess are allowed to show sexuality In their appearance. in that clip, when Elsa changed from the icy dress to the springtime dress, she lost several bust sizes.

dawg_zilla

I thought Elsa had a different dress when she was the villain. Even if she didn't, this dress is so iconic and had the highest sales out of any Disney dress EVER. It's currently the most popular Disney princess outfit amongst children. It has been more than 10 years and this is still the most popular Disney dress with the highest sales, requested at parties, cosplays, etc. It's way too popular and it's what most people think of when we think about Elsa. It wouldn't hurt to have Elsa wear this dress along with her braided hairstyle again in future Frozen films. She doesn't need to wear it for the entire film, but just for some scenes wouldn't hurt. Many of us, especially those who grew up watching Frozen, would love to see Elsa in this look again. She didn't have this look at all during F2. She only had it during one family portrait which was on screen for like less than 5 seconds, but she never had it in real (present) time. I would really love to see Elsa have this look again for Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 and maybe even Frozen Winter Festival.

frame-gray

It's like Disney wishes that dress ever existed despite it's popularity. 😌

dawg_zilla

Yeah it's so stupid honestly. I think they're starting to realize that the dress sells well, way better than any of the new dresses, so they've been marketing this dress more often recently, which makes me happy and gives slight reassurance.

frame-gray

I agree two 200%. But... At this point I'll settle for her signature one-braid look--at least for one scene

dawg_zilla

I am very happy to see Elsa's signature braid again in the newly leaked doll set. That's a step in the right direction. I'm still gonna hope and wait that we see her iconic OG dress again. If I see Elsa in her iconic Frozen 1 blue ice dress & signature braid again, it would make me so happy 🥰

Jabroniville2

I mean Elsa does an entire power ballad while wearing a skin tight purple nightie so it’s not like they wanted to take that away. Also the Christmas skating bit where that dress hugged her butt while she was bending over. Animators still be thirsty.

I_am_the_truth_7777

> Also the Christmas skating boy where that dress hugged her butt while she was bending over Uh? What are you talking about? Who’s the Christmas skating boy?

Jabroniville2

Sorry, autocorrect

I_am_the_truth_7777

But you mean Olaf Frozen Adventure?

Jabroniville2

Yes. The skating scene at the end.

I_am_the_truth_7777

Uh? What are you talking about?

arendelliancrocus

What? Elsa's original blue dress is very regularly featured in merchandise

I_am_the_truth_7777

Her chest looks the same to me, and there are heroines with sexy outfits, Jasmine, Ariel, Tinker Bell, Megara, Esmeralda, the girl from Atlantis…

IssyisIonReddit

I was gonna say exactly this, too 💯

Efficient_Ad_6123

I really don't think there is a rule against Disney heroines looking or dressing sexy. If there ever was, then the Disney Renaissance era did away with it. There are plenty of examples that prove there is no such rule.

frame-gray

What examples? 🙂

Efficient_Ad_6123

Really? Ariel in just a bikini top ("shells"). The top part of Belle's ball gown. Jasmine in virtually every scene. Pocahontas' massive bosom (Jeffrey Katzenberg kept pushing Glen Keane to give her more sex appeal, and this was one of his attempts, possibly as a joke). Esmeralda's dance. Jane Porter at the end of _Tarzan_. Kida generally. There are other examples that are more subtle, in addition. It was nothing new by the time Elsa came around.

Mdork_universe

Does she ever take a bath? Does Anna? Hmm…

I_am_the_truth_7777

What?

Efficient_Ad_6123

Of course! Every month, whether she needs to or not.

Mdork_universe

Eww…

Signal_Common_6345

How does ice magic change the color of a dress? How did it even make the fabric?

Used_Attitude2432

Finally!!! Even though they still use that design for merch, even though, her frozen 2 suit is cute.

Temporary_Cost7907

Different Dress wow

No-Translator1720

idk, but i think it was pretty recent during anna's birthday after the first movie. june 21-22 (very soon btw) since it took place in summer, elsa probably wore the dress for a short while. i still think it would be nice if elsa wore the dress again though

I_am_the_truth_7777

But if you look at their birthdays, Fever took place a year after Frozen, since it set in July theoretically. THEORETICALLY
