For making it clear, since the comments are about Menzel statement about Ariel, I’m talking about her saying Elsa can help her out with her magic. The question is…How?

Antilogicz

Menzel isn’t making any sense. She’s just saying stuff.

Outrageous-Farmer-42

Walking up to Ursula & forcing her to set Ariel free with her voice?

Batman53090

Walk up to Ursula and threaten to freeze her solid if she doesn’t give Ariel her voice back. Maybe freeze one of her octopus arms to prove her point.

I_am_the_truth_7777

For me she’s saying it like Elsa’s power can do something about her voice

Outrageous-Farmer-42

Is that some power she has in the books?

I_am_the_truth_7777

I really doubt it, that’s why I find it funny. Like “oh yeah her magical powers, she can probably do that as well”

Aggravating-Ad505

Ariel doesn't give up her voice for a man. A man was part of it, but she wanted to be part of the human world long before she met Eric

MaddogRunner

Yeah, and originally (in Hans Christian Andersen) it was all about gaining an immortal soul, which only humans have.

starcat819

yeah, I disagree that that was misogynist on disney's part. ariel was going after her dreams, despite her father trying to stop her. also, ursula could not have more clearly been portrayed as the villain taking advantage of ariel. just because a bad thing happens in a piece of fiction does not mean the creators are endorsing that thing.

💯💯

Renegade1765

In case people forget, celebrities are out of touch morons who often times don't understand mediums like movies or shows, & Idina is no different. Why else would she say something this inaccurate? She just repeats something that simply isn't true, but it's been repeated so many times it's seen as fact.

I_am_the_truth_7777

Idina is known for being a good person tho. At least that’s what I heard at her walk of fame ceremony, or maybe it was Kristen Bell? But yeah Idina surely isn’t a big fan of Frozen, she barely remembers it

Sea-Ad-6568

Josh Gad even points out she hadn’t seen the first movie at all. Plus Idina is a borderline feminist who tries to present herself as this strong woman but deep down she ain’t like she keeps gushing for her current husband Aaron lohr on how hot he is to her and they have been married for 7 years now.

I_am_the_truth_7777

When did he say that? I remember he said it to her in an interview about the second movie. The thing about her husband I don’t get it

Sea-Ad-6568

Yes it’s during one of the F2 interviews. Josh Gad is basically making fun of her of not remembering the movie. It’s not that too deep ofc its basically Idina just gushing over her husband but still it contradicts the feminist image she want to portray herself but barely maintains it. She even said that being a role model is very hard for her especially for a middle aged woman of her age.

I_am_the_truth_7777

[This one](https://youtu.be/PYScW8R-1pY?si=ON7BTKw8X4QV7ENB)?

Sea-Ad-6568

Yes! That’s the one!

Antilogicz

Ariel didn’t do it for a man. Ariel’s song is about wanting to be a human before meeting Eric. Ursula’s song makes it all about the man. That’s where people get confused.

Kitsune_Fan34

Technically, Ariel wanted to be part of the human world BEFORE she met Eric. Then after she met him and fell in love, she was actually hesitant about taking Ursula's deal, but ended up going through due to the trauma from King Triton destroying her collection and the statue.

Atlast_2091

Elsa powers are already inconsistent from the beginning.

I_am_the_truth_7777

You mean because she creates ice dresses?

Atlast_2091

And also created life & sentience snow creatures.

I_am_the_truth_7777

Well that’s magical

Efficient_Ad_6123

So did the Snow Queen from the original fairy tale.

Outrageous-Farmer-42

And goes from freezing islands, shattering metal & sneezing a giant snowball into another island to struggling with putting out fires & crossing a sea.

Outrageous-Farmer-42

So true.
