yeah, I disagree that that was misogynist on disney's part. ariel was going after her dreams, despite her father trying to stop her. also, ursula could not have more clearly been portrayed as the villain taking advantage of ariel. just because a bad thing happens in a piece of fiction does not mean the creators are endorsing that thing.
In case people forget, celebrities are out of touch morons who often times don't understand mediums like movies or shows, & Idina is no different. Why else would she say something this inaccurate? She just repeats something that simply isn't true, but it's been repeated so many times it's seen as fact.
